The charm, comfort, and beautiful setting of our vintage Northwoods log cabin will make your cares melt away. Our cabin sits so close to the water, you'll feel like you're floating on stunning Lake Wabedo. Inside the home, you're treated to comfortable furnishings, a well-appointed kitchen, and amazing views of the lake from nearly every room in the house; outside, you're literally steps away from swimming, paddling, and world-class fishing

What will you do with your day Watch the skyturn early-morning pink over the lake without even leaving your bed. Enjoy your coffee from the lakeside deck in the company of the many birds that visit our feeders. Perhaps you'll head out in the canoe to visit Fish Island, or explore the winding channel that connects Lake Wabedo to Little Boy Lake. Bring or rent a boat and fish the waters of them both, nearly 2,600 acres total, and reel in everything from panfish to walleye to trophy-sized muskie (of course, fishing's not bad from our dock either). Enjoy a cool drink and watch the kids swim off the dock.. In the evening, take in the sunset from the deck and listen to the ghostly call of the loons.

Should the weather be inclement, no worries--our cabin has a spacious open floor plan, and everything in it has been carefully chosen with comfort and relaxation in mind. There's plenty of comfortable seating for everyone to hang out and watch a movie, play a game, or just enjoy the company of good friends and family.

Feel the need to get out Visit one of many charming nearby towns, including Longville, just a few miles away and home to world-famous turtle races! Play some putt-putt at Birdie's in Longville. Try your luck at the Northern Lights Casino in Walker. Hike or bike the many local trails, and visit Deep Portage Conservation Reserve for a variety of outdoor activities and classes.

Whatever you choose, the backdrop for it all is the calling loons, towering pines, and lapping waters of Lake Wabedo. You will leave feeling rested, rejuvenated . . . and eager to come back.

(Please note, our cabin has a wide-angle security doorbell located next to the front door. This provides a security view of anyone approaching the front door, the driveway and garage.)

Great cabin in a great place. Docked my boat at the property and fished all week. Caught lots of pike and fat largemouth bass. Owner was very helpful and responsive.

Comfy log home with large deck offering beautiful views of the lake. Kitchen is supplied with everything needed for those who like cooking any type of meal. Floor plan has 2 bedrooms on opposite side of the house so kids could sleep-in undisturbed while early risers made coffee to enjoy on the deck and soak in the sounds of birds and distant views of fishermen. We even used the wood stove but set off the smoke alarms so open some windows for ventilation. Boat launch is an easy walk of 1/4 mile away. If you’re bringing a boat the owner will send a map to help maneuver your turn around. The two large lakes provides a variety of fishing opportunities. The kids loved jumping off the dock, climb up the ladder and do it again and again. This is a simple, comfortable, clean, well supplied log cabin that has everything needed for a week of relaxed lake living.

5 Stars – A Peaceful Slice of Paradise on Lake WabedoWe couldn’t be more grateful for the unforgettable experience we had at this beautiful log cabin on Lake Wabedo. From the moment we arrived, we felt an immediate sense of peace and calm that truly set the tone for our stay. The cabin is a true gem. Cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed with so much care. Every detail, from the inviting interior touches to the stunning lake views, made it feel like a true home away from home. It was exactly the kind of setting my husband and I needed to relax, recharge, and reconnect. We spent our days enjoying the natural beauty around us and our evenings curled up by the fire. By the end of the week, we felt more rested and rejuvenated than we have in a long time. The host went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked, the instructions were clear and helpful, and all the little touches made a big difference. It’s clear that they truly care about their guests’ experience. This cabin is a peaceful retreat we’ll never forget. We’re already hoping for a chance to return and create even more memories in this special place. Highly recommend!

I have stayed in this cabin several times now. It never disappoints and has everything you need. Great old-school cabin feel with a fabulous view from every room. And I’ve always had success fishing on this lake, including seeing and catching a variety of trophy-sized fish over the years. Kirk, the owner, is awesome. Can’t wait to go back next year!

Fantastic up north getaway. Great old log cabin that brought me back to my childhood. Fishing was great. I don’t think I’ve ever been on a lake with so many loons! . Kitchen was well stocked. Lots of room to spread out. The dining table and tables outside hosted many fuel filled cribbage games. The small table in the living room housed a very fun puzzle. Beds were very comfortable. Distance to Longville was a pleasant surprise. Just a short drive away. Kurt was a fantastic, communicative host. I’ll be back

Cabin was perfect for our small group. Great location. Driveway was a pain with a full size truck and a 20 foot boat, but we made it work.We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay. The driveway is tough for traveling with a pontoon so we had to improvise and it worked. He had warned us so we were prepared. We built a fire and enjoyed looking out the window at the gorgeous lake. Walks daily on the gravel roads. Great fishing. Location was perfect to to explore other towns. We will be headed back next year!

It was a perfect visit. We booked the cabin for 4 weeks. My sister and I have a lot of family memories up in the area, and we found the cabin to be a sanctuary we needed to relax, enjoy the woods, the solitude, the beauty of fall and the sunsets. Kirk and Shannon, the hosts have done an amazing job of making the cabin cozy and welcoming. In addition, it was very well stocked with whatever spices, staples, condiments that would be needed, and pretty much anything else that might be needed for a relaxing stay in the north woods. I very highly recommend staying at this cabin, and we will definitely be rebooking for next year.

This was the 4th time i have stayed in this cabin and I feel lucky to have randomly found the property on VRBO a few years ago. It has everything you need for a great northwoods experience. Great old school cabin with wonderful views of the lake. Nice back deck overlooking the lake. Awesome fire pit. I have had great fishing everytime I have been to Wabedo Lake. Kids can catch pan fish off the dock all day long . The neighbors are friendly and might share some fishing tips with you. There are kayaks and a canoe that we used as well. It is a fun paddle to Little Boy Lake. The channel connecting to Little Boy is like an aquarium and the bird watching is great . Kirk, the host, goes above and beyond responding to questions. I plan on coming back again next summer.

The Wabedo Cabin is a quaint, historic cabin. The location is very peaceful and serene. The deck overlooking the lake was a beautiful spot to sit, relax, and read a book. The lake was quiet, not much boat traffic. We, unfortunately, had some boat motor issues so weren't able to do much fishing but heard great things about the fishing on Wabedo Lake. The neighbors are close but are very friendly and not intrusive at all. They offered assistance with our boat motor and kept an eye out for us to make sure we got back safely to the dock! When first arriving, it's hard to determine where the cabin is. The house numbers are a bit out of order and you don't realize there's a dirt frontage road you need to take to reach the cabin. Google Maps tells you that you have arrived, but you have to turn into what looks like someone's driveway and drive down the frontage road to reach the cabin. The driveway and parking are a bit of a challenge. The driveway is a bit steep with a turn and there's not much space in the yard to turn around when leaving. Backing down and out the driveway is not an option, unless you want to back down the frontage road to the main road. Parking would be a tight fit with 2 or more vehicles. To us, this was the only real issue with the cabin. If you're looking for somewhere sleek and modern, this isn't the place to choose. But, if you are looking for a quiet place with charm and character to relax and recharge, this is it.

The property was great! The family and I had a nice time there and can’t wait to come back again. Fishing off the dock was excellent, everyone caught something. It was also close to town for any needed supplies but the house was stocked nicely.
