No bathroom amenities/ soap, shampoo. Not a problem necessarily .. just need to know so you can bring your own

The Historic Chestnut Cabin proved to be a wonderful property, offering a relaxing family atmosphere. The convenance of the cabin’s location was a plus allowing quick excursions to Mentone’s many amenities. My family enjoyed cooking kabobs on the outdoor charcoal grill, utilizing the outdoor fire pit for roasting hot dogs and making smores as we told stories late into the night. We had a blast!

We all loved it, will stay there again soon. Chestnut Cabin my favorite and we have been going on vacation every year for 20 yrs . Love this property.

We loved our stay! The beds were comfy, the kitchen was well stocked and clean, and the kids loved the games. The porch was relaxing and nice that it was screened in. Thanks, we hope we can come back!

We rented the cabin for a small group church retreat. We found it to be clean and well-supplied with what we needed. The kids loved the outdoor games that were available on the porch. We would stay there again!

Our visit to AL was an amazing weekend of family and hard work preparing for my daughter’s wedding. In spite of the long days of wedding prep we relaxed comfortably in a quaint cozy cottage in Mentone. The cabin was beautifully decorated in relaxing but classic pieces that helped us feel at home. Wonderful! The cabin is rustic and the furnishings perfect. We had a small problem with the heat. After informing the host, it was a short time before a repairman came to fix the problem. He even got us a fire starter and built a fire in the fireplace for us. The beds are comfortable. One bedroom has high beds which reminded me of my childhood. It was a wonderful get away weekend for friends.

Beautiful spacious cabin with updated modern amenities. Me and 5 of my good friends have been traveling together for over 25 years and this was one of the best getaways! Some of the coolest shops and eating at Wildflower cafe and The Hatter Cafe is a must…..the food was excellent! Can’t wait to go back!

We made so many memories at the Chestnut Cabin. From the moment we walked in, our whole family felt at home. The house is cozy, quaint and inviting. All the bedding is super comfortable, and the updated bathrooms are a big perk! One of the best things about this cabin is the outdoor space. We spent much of our time playing cornhole and Bocce ball in the yard and gathered around the fire pit. A stay we will be talking about for years to come!

Our extended family gathered for a Pre-Thanksgiving feast at the lovely Chestnut Cabin. We knew the cabin was built in the early 1900’s and had been recently renovated. We were so pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this cabin was. It certainly surpassed our expectations. We loved that it was all on one level!

This home is lovely with understated, classic furnishings and artwork -- not cluttered like so many short-term rentals are. Kitchen and laundry appliances are new. Master bath (shower only) is new. Although it is on a street with other homes, it felt very private, and the church bells from the Episcopal church on the corner were an added delight. Within very easy distance of downtown Mentone and Desoto State Park. The firepit was our favorite. :)

My sisters, kids, and myself stayed for the Mentone Festival! The cabin is spacious but very cozy! So many details went into preserving the original feel of the cabin while updating it with a modern twist. Was very clean & the host was very quick to respond to any question's asked. It is so close to everything, but still gives the feel of being secluded. The kids enjoyed the screened in porch with the cornhole boards. The back stoned patio was perfect for gathering as we grilled then enjoyed smores around the firepit! Was the perfect weekend getaway! Will definitely plan to stay again!

What a wonderful cabin and property! Exactly what we wanted in a vacation mountain home. Clean, rustic and perfectly decorated! This one is a real gem! 10/10

This was a welcoming cabin with a lovely wrap around screened porch. It had been uniquely remodeled with very creative touches. The location was very quiet and wooded and convenient to restaurants and shopping. It was a great place to relax. There were four adults. We all loved it.
