Charming quirky couple and dog friendly countryside bolt hole, with private hot tub and communal gam

My girlfriend, our dog, and I had a lovely stay in the Shepherd’s Shed. The views from both the shed and the balcony were amazing, and the cozy hot tub was perfect for the cold November nights. Once we got it up to temperature, it stayed hot for ages, so we even enjoyed a couple of morning dips! The Shepherd’s Shed is in the perfect location for exploring North Devon!! we went on some great walks and also enjoyed plenty of peace and quiet, which was exactly what we needed after a busy few months. The games room was good fun too, even though we didn’t spend much time there. Overall, it’s an excellent and beautifully located place. We’d definitely love to visit again in the summer to make use of the barbecue and enjoy evenings outside under the gazebo with the fire pit.

We had a wonderful stay. The location is remote but excellent for chilling, relaxing and unwinding. We were left alone but help was on hand if we needed anything. Would definitely return!

We had the most peaceful and relaxing stay at this beautiful shepherd’s hut just outside Barnstaple. Tucked away in the Devon countryside, it offered the perfect escape from everyday life. The views across the open fields were absolutely stunning, and we especially loved watching the cows roam freely in the field right in front of the hut – it was such a calming experience. The hut itself was cosy and well-equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub was a real highlight – soaking in the warm water under the stars, surrounded by nature, was just magical. It’s quiet, private, and the ideal spot to truly unwind. If you're looking for peace, privacy, and beautiful rural views, this place is a real gem. We left feeling completely refreshed and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

Perfect little hide away, amazing views of the countryside. Cosy Shepherds Shed with everything you need, hot tub was a bonus, we really enjoyed sitting around the fire in the evenings. The hosts were great.

Just what we'd hoped and more - a beautiful Shepherds Hut, romantic and warm, stylishly furnished with great attention to detail. It made our first trip without our kids feel very special! The location is sublime with gorgeous views and we will long remember sitting in the hot tub, at sunset, in the rain - pure bliss.

We had a lovely stay in this peaceful secluded spot for a weekend. It rained most of the weekend so we didn’t get to use the facilities as much as we wanted sadly. Thanks for a lovely stay ?

Lovely, funky place to stay with stunning views.

We absolutely loved it here. The Shepherds Shed itself was beautiful, very clean and had everything you could need for your stay. The Outdoor area was spot on too, the large gazebo with zip up sides was great, really kept the wind at bay and kept you warmer, the log burner was great, and the gas BBQ also excellent. The wood fired hot tub was so relaxing to sit in on an evening with a glass of wine or few, and the sound of the silence almost deafening apart from the odd toot from a distant owl. The view also was to die for, nothing better than to sit with a coffee in the warm morning sun just staring at natural beauty. Shawn and Kath were also great hosts and very friendly and helpful. We would happily stay here again and happily recommend it to anyone.
