Come rest, relax, and enjoy the sounds and sights of the Boardman River in our cozy, rustic 800 square foot cabin. Bedroom one has a queen size bed, while bedroom two offers a double bed and a twin bed. Cook meals in our efficient kitchen, or grill on the charcoal grill. Our large comfortable sofa beckons you to relax, read a book, watch birds at the feeder, or view kayakers as they paddle down the river. Free WiFi allows you to stream movies, or if you must, check emails or work remotely.Grab a book and hang in the hammock under the willow tree, and let the sound of the river gently lull you into a nap. Enjoy a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage on our deck overlooking the river. When evening comes, build a fire in the fire pit and make a few s'mores. If you're lucky, you may spot fireflies in late June or July. Deer, bunnies, birds, abound if you are quiet and observant.

When you are ready for activity, bring your own kayaks or tubes and go for a float. For a small fee, a neighbor will transport you and your vessels up or downstream. Traverse City offers many beautiful hiking trails and we are a 1/4 mile from the Boardman River Trail where you can and enjoy a hike along the river. We are eight miles from Downtown Traverse City where you can enjoy shopping, excellent restaurants, beaches, or wineries out the Old Mission Peninsula. Leelanau County is one of our favorite places to enjoy the beaches and go for hikes.

This cabin has been in our family for three generations and we have made many wonderful memories here over the years. While it is rustic, it is clean and updated with new mattresses, sheets, linens, towels, and a stove. We hope that you and your family or friends can relax, recharge, and make some special memories of your own. Parties, additional guests, and smoking and vaping is prohibited.

This cabin was clean and well-equipped. Amy added several welcoming touches that made us feel right at home. Location is excellent and Amy checked in with us mid-stay to see if we needed anything.

Host was awesome! Good communication and some ‘extras’ like flowers and ice cream. The cabin was not as clean as expected. There were lots of cobwebs and the bathroom needs an update. If you are at all tall, beware of the low door frames! This is definitely a CABIN but overall comfy. Comfortable couch and one of the most comfortable beds-great linens. Loved the location and the beautiful river.

Our stay was such a peaceful experience that was conveniently located to amenities. The river was so close to the house and made our stay beyond worth it! Pros: location in relation to Traverse City, private river with ample seating to enjoy, large windows to view outdoors, very comfortable beds and bedding, lots of games and activities, the host bought my son and balloon and gift for our weekend stay celebrating his birthday! Cons: could hear road traffic throughout the property, my partner got stung by a Yellowjacket bee that came from a ground nest of Yellowjackets in the upper level of the yard, not the owners fault at all but: the bird feeder broke our first night and we couldn’t bird watch like we were hoping to. Overall we would love to come back for a longer stay so we can just sit by the river and relax rather than leaving to do so many local activities.

NIce quiet location with many extras provided. Fresh flowers on the table, charcoal because I asked about a grill. Also enjoyed the full bird feeder as we saw many beautiful birds during our stay.

I hesitate to recap how amazing this rental was because I want to keep it all to myself lol What a serene setting! 15 minutes from everything but it felt so private. The beds were super cozy, the kitchen was well-stocked, the space was open and inviting, and the hosts were the so incredibly thoughtful. We will definitely be back!

This cabin is well maintained and feels spacious inside. The couch, chairs and beds were comfortable. The outdoor area includes the deck with two separate seating areas to relax, eat, play games; the fire pit is very nice with additional seating there and two chairs set up by the river and plenty of room to move other seating to this area. It was a relaxing space and only a few minutes to shopping, dining, and other activities in the Traverse City area. I would definitely stay here again. The host, Amy, was very easy to communicate with and had a few extra welcoming touches upon our arrival.

This river house is full of charm. Amy was so thoughtful, leaving helpful notes and a few tasty treats for us to enjoy. This is the first rental we've been in where all the furniture was truly comfortable, including the beds. The location is excellent and close to many different experiences. Do not be alarmed by the train track, we trusted the other reviews and only saw one engine go by, no whistles or vibrations. The burbling river and the weeping willow tree were magic! The air conditioning was excellent, and there are plenty of fans. Fully equipped kitchen and charcoal grill kit! Overall a perfect spot.

This cottage was very cute. Right next to the beautiful River. The house was clean and comfortable. Great location to Traverse City and the softball tournament that we were participating in. Everything was just how it looked in the pictures. We would love to come back!

The cabin was such a great place to stay. Lose enough to Traverse City but secluded enough to be quiet and relaxing. The extra touches (wine, stuff for smores, and fresh flowers) were much appreciated. Amy was very responsive and helpful. Definitely will be back!

This is such a beautiful property. The river flowed over the rocks creating such a serene setting. It’s like a gentle sound machine while relaxing on the deck or by the fire pit. Even had kayakers float by. The only downfall was the traffic noise but you don’t notice with the sound of the river. Also, you do cross a railroad track to get to the property. We were afraid we would hear trains frequently but only saw it once (small 4 car moving at snail pace). Learned it only uses tracks 1-2 times/month, So don’t let the tracks concern you. I would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone traveling to TC area. Loved it!!!
