Swanzey, New Hampshire
Enjoy all the comforts of home in this adorable quintessential 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin on Swanzey Lake. You will love sipping your morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine on our screened in porch. Our kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker as well as a gas grill outside on the patio. Our outdoor shower is a refreshing treat. There is a gas fireplace in the living room, and we have also recently installed a mini split air conditioner/heater on both floors for those rare evenings that are a bit too warm or too cool.
We have a separate garage with a loft that can sleep people comfortably with its own brand new bathroom and air conditioning.
Our dock is a short walk across the street and there are two kayaks available for use.
Keene, NH is a 15-20 minute drive where you will find great restaurants, shopping, and movie theater.
Mount Monadnock is a short distance away for a great daytime hike.
You will not be disappointed.
The Swanzey Lake house is just as charming as it looks in the photos. It was chilly while we were there, but the heaters and fireplace kept us cozy. The kitchen is very well stocked and we enjoyed cooking some meals for our 92 year old father who still lives in the area. The bedrooms are spacious and nicely decorated, and we slept well. Highly recommend.
Everything was great. Ruth was very responsive and accommodating! Nothing major but we weren’t aware that the 3rd bedroom was above the unattached garage although it’s very nice!!
My KSC college roommates and I had a spectacular reunion after many years at this property last weekend. The house is so cozy and has all the amenities - it's well stocked with supplies and kitchen tools/utensils, a beautiful gas stove, and very comfortable beds. The bedroom above the garage is also fabulous. The lake is gorgeous and the walk around it on the dirt road is so peaceful. I think this is the perfect spot for future reunions and we can't wait to come back! The owner is so kind and communicative, and I appreciated her guidance on how to make the best of our stay. Thank you so much!
My friends and I had a lovely fall weekend in the cabin. Keene is so close which is nice but we felt secluded away from other tourists. Great location to get to all the covered bridges too! We had plenty of space though didn’t realize the cabin is only 2 bed with the third bedroom over the garage, thought it was a bonus space. Overall great property for a cozy cabin retreat
Ruth was easy to work with and the house was perfect - cozy and clean with all the amenities of a home. Blankets, fire pit, gas stove, dimmer lights, and more. Thank you Ruth for the opportunity to celebrate a special birthday at your lovely cabin!
This was our second time staying at this cozy home. Ruth provides everything you could possibly need. There is a new large bathroom in the loft above the garage with a wonderful “rain” shower. This loft space would be perfect for a family with children or teenagers. We sat out in the evening by the fire pit and although we didn’t use it this time, there is a beautiful screened in area for hot summer nights when bugs are out. Unfortunately we didn’t spend much time on the lake. We spent our days golfing at the gorgeous Bretwood golf course. The house is a short distance to Keene where we found many good restaurants. We had a great time at this house and definitely will be back!
My family just had a reunion and several of them stayed at this cabin. They reported back how pleased they were! It was comfortable, clean and a great option. We will keep it in mind for future get togethers. ?
Cute cabin has fun details to admire like a unique front door, obviously hand-made, and a charming sitting porch. From all rooms you can leave ok out onto the back woods area with ferns and trees and old stone wall in the far right. You will love walking across the gravel road to a small dock to enjoy the dock and wildlife. I walked the road all around the lake to explore which was a little belt 3-mile walk. Both bedrooms are upstairs and the small bathroom is downstairs. Kitchen is great. All in all, this was a super relaxing and quiet place to enjoy.
Right where we wanted to be on Swanzey Lake. Had a great stay and would like to go again in the future.
In a pine clearing with large granite boulders and staggeringly tall and slender pines standing guard over the property, this cozy little cottage welcomed me back home to New Hampshire after pretty much a 50-year absence. As the slowly cooling autumn evenings yielded to sunrise on these late September mornings, the hauntingly beautiful, low fog suspended over the lake's still water, reminded me why nature and the outdoors were so much a part of my life growing up nearby. An outdoor shower, a screened in porch, a fire pit, Weber grill and a fully equipped kitchen helped us comfortably host visits by family, and served us well for our one-week stay. Beds were comfy and tidy. An abundance of towels and Internet rounded out the amenities. Owner, Ruth, was a diligent, responsive host who answered my many questions. And to paraphrase a well known advertising slogan, She turned the light in for me... before we got there. Class act.
