Cedar Hill Depot: Historic charmer 3 blocks from the Gulf

We were looking for a quiet and cozy getaway where we could walk to the beach, dining, and shopping, and this has it all. Very clean, the management is very professional and on point, they do not miss a beat. Will definitely do this again.

The property and the host and the area was wonderful. We very much enjoyed staying there. Incredible time kayaking with dolphins all around us, took a small airplane ride from a local pilot, which was wonderful to see the islands, rented bikes, and bikes all around the neighborhoods, great seafood, live music was great and the place we stayed in was Quaint and cute. The only thing we should have done was checked into whether there was a way to do some light cooking. No stove or a hot plate. But we were only there a few days so it was fine. All in all five stars.

Wonderful little cabin with a beautiful interior. My wife and I spent our 24th anniversary there and loved it. Very clean and well thought out.

Property was lovely and cozy for 2 of us, only thing was the couch kept folding up on us when laying on it but we had a great time and would return.

Absolutely perfect!!!

We thought we might be able to come and cook some meals but the kitchen is not really set up for that. I.e. only a microwave available. Everything is close by and people were friendly. It was great to walk everywhere and definitely slow paced and relaxing. It was great for what we wanted. A get away from the hustle and bustle.

This location was perfect, located in a small quiet neighborhood, minutes feom the water and the beach, and restaurants. The whole town is super friendly and fun to explore. This little property is located right next door to the owners of the property who were very quiet and extremely welcoming.

First off, I would like to say this property was absolutely stunning. We’re not the “big home” type when we travel — we enjoy places that are simple, rustic, country and personal — and this stay was more than we ever imagined.The 2.5-hour drive from Kissimmee was peaceful, filled with tree-lined roads and quiet stretches. Upon arrival to Cedar Key, we found a small town that feels larger than life. The peace, the scenery, and the serenity were more than we could have hoped for.From the outside, the home looked like a cozy getaway surrounded by plants, mini gardens, and a charming tea area with a small fountain. At the top of the stairs were two wooden rocking chairs, perfect for morning coffee. Once you open the door, you’re welcomed into a beautiful wooden cabin — warm, personal, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was heavenly, and the sofa and pull-out bed were just as inviting. The train-themed décor, complete with lantern-style lighting, added so much charm. There was even a personal table for two.The walk from the cabin to the beaches was under two minutes. We explored the entire town in less than an hour, stopping for coffee, seafood, and even visiting the local library and museum. You truly don’t need a car unless you plan to leave the island.The hosts were caring, responsive, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. This was a weekend getaway we will never forget. We are certain we’ll be back in the future and will gladly recommend this property

Hidden gem just 2 blocks from downtown and gorgeous sunsets on the water. Property is everything it states and more! Loved rockers on porch overlooking serene gardens with fountains. Cabin is spacious, super clean and provided everything we needed for our perfect weekend stay. Easy walk to all restaurants and shops. Resident chickens in their palm tree coop were an unexpected bonus and fun to watch. No, they did not make noise in case you are wondering! McCormick Management was a dream to work with. We were lucky to meet our hosts who were very sweet and accommodating. We love Cedar Key and will be back to The Depot for sure!

Great accommodations for a couples weekend away. Perfect location, walking distance to everything

The cabin's enterior was cute, but the surrounding area was cluttered and featured chickens in the yard, which was not mentioned in the description. The advertised description of the area was inaccurate, as it is a run-down town with brown, murky and stinky water I would not even allow my dogs to play in if they had been with me. Despite claims of available activities, the state park and other attractions listed were either boarded up or closed. If you want to just hang out in a cabin all day then this is right up your alley. But not for someone lookingto get out and enjoy new things to do and see.

Wonderful place for a quick getaway! The listing is accurate- don’t plan on cooking and plan ahead for meals out. The community is wonderful and friendly, but there are only a few restaurants. The parking is tight but was manageable and the water is so close! We walked right to dinner every night. The area is still recovering from hurricanes so there isn’t much for tourists, but this property is a great option if you want to check out the sights in a clean quiet space.

It's a little bit of nature's paradise--birds, flowers, butterflies! And that's just on the front porch. Super comfortable accomodations. Everything you'd want!

What a charming property! Easy access to everywhere. Met the owners who live next door. Very helpful with ideas for restaurants and things to do. We felt very welcome. cedar Key itself is a charming place. Only drawback on cottage is no cooking facilities except microwave. Other than that perfect!

We wanted a nice little weekend get away. We have never been to cedar key. The host communicated very quickly with all my questions from the time I booked the cottage. It was very clean and stocked with all the necessities. It was walking distance to 2nd street where we dined out and visited all the cute shops. We can’t wait to go back!

It was our 31st anniversary and this was a perfect getaway for a couple of days. The 'cabin' was clean, wonderfully furnished, quiet and very relaxing. We have stayed in Cedar Key a number of times over the years so wanted to see how they fared thru the storms. Devastating for sure, but such great locals. The walk into town was short and easy so we ate and drank all all the open places we could find! So, perfect quick trip and we definitely recommend the Cedar Hill Depot!!

Great location, walking distance(approx 1/2 mile) to town. Did everything we needed, location, sleeping arrangements. Shower is a little small, but usable. Parking is shared drive way so a full size truck would be hard, if not impossible, to park in designated spot. Luckily we took the mid size SUV.
