La Parguera, Lajas
Family house with a lot of space for relaxing in the water. The cabin is next to the main town and 5 mins from all the cays, Caracoles, Cayo Enrique, Luminescent Bay and Mata La Gata. You can bring your boat or we can rent you one.
The location is great and the porch amazing. The upstairs bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Where we had issues was downstairs where there was a strong mold/mildew odor and we did find evidence of this (have photos). Perhaps this is to be expected as the house is over water, but I hadn’t expected it to be so bad that we could not stay. Two of our group are highly sensitive to mold and had reactions, so we left after one night, but could not get any refund. The property manager was highly communicative, but didn’t seem to fully grasp how big a problem this was for us. Potential renters should also know that the downstairs bedrooms are very dark with little ventilation. There were no screens on any windows in the house, so we couldn’t leave them open for ventilation without letting in mosquitos. There were also tiny bugs around the kitchen sink (I have video).
The house was perfect, had all we needed and the area one of the best.
Good property on the water, needs a little more upkeep. Communication with the owner was excellent. Next door neighbors (Fidel and wife) were a delight!
Amazing location, property manager was really attentive. Really close to Caracoles. Loved being in the porch in the morning watching people in the kayaks. So peaceful! Definitely will be staying there again!
The property was as describe. The location was excellent. We were 12 all family, and really had a very good time. The kitchen was very well stock with pans, pots, dishes, etc. We are a very big family so some of them stayed on a nearby hotel, but arrived at the property to say hello, have dinner and to get on the boats to get to the “cayos”. The host, Louis, was very comprehensive and allowed us the exception. We are very greatful for his understanding! The only set back was that the first night, the air conditioner in one of the rooms didnt work. The couple that was going to sleep in that room, decided to leave and we all reimbursed them their share. In the morning, I told the Louis, and he took care of it that same day. We acknowledge his immediate response. Eventhought we suggest that when an event like this happens (that not all the guest were able to stay because of an issue with the property) there should be some kind of adjustment for their share. That said, we did have a very good time and hope to stay again. Recommend it 100% Thank you Louis for sharing your property with us.
Beautiful location.
Super nice!
Great location, loved the spacious deck on the water which we really made great use of. Our host was great to respond to any questions we had while there. Only thing I wish was that the kayaks pictured were able to be used. Otherwise would definitely go back!
Pretty much what we needed. Slept all six of us super well and close to fishing and reef swimming. Neighbors fantastic. Location. Amazing.
Excellent communications with home owner!
We stayed for 3 nights and you can not beat this property in La Parguera. You are on the water, the house is has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Very spacious and that balcony on the water is to die for. Host is amazing and even messaged to make sure we were happy with everything. Had plenty of towels and even beach towels for everyone. We will be back for sure.
We visited on a family trip and everyone had a blast. The house is very unique, right on the water and has all the comforts. It’s also a short walk to town. We loved our stay :)
The best places ever we love it
Clean, well run, and charming. So relaxing. Rented a boat. Explored the islands. Grabbed a mooring on a tiny beach island. Swam off the boat into the tunnels formed by mangroves. Made good meals in the well equipped kitchen.(Note to owner...Time for more real glasses and coffee cups. The new overhead hood had no power - so no lights to offset the painfully glaring bare light bulb in the ceiling. ). We walked into a little town (5 minutes west) and had a nice meal and cocktails at a chicly decorated raised outdoor restaurant. They called a Mexican. I'm from Los Angeles. It's not Mexican, The octopus was excellent. The house was excellent.
Walking distance to local restaurants and bars. Close to day boat excursions. The house and the view priceless.
