**Beware of Hidden Charges and Unreliable Amenities** We recently stayed at this cabin for one night, and our experience was marred by some concerning issues. The host attempted to charge us extra for cleaning and pushed a firewood package that turned out to be unusable due to excessive moisture. After departing, we received a message indicating an additional $115 charge for cleaning and unused firewood. This dishonest approach leaves us wary and disappointed, and we advise future guests to stay vigilant about potential hidden fees and questionable amenities.

This is a lovely bucolic setting close to Rickett’s Glen, which is absolutely one of Pennsylvania’s national treasures. The cabin is lovely, cozy and well-maintained.

The cabin was not well cleaned especially floors. Linens and towels are for rent feels being nickled and dimed. Not well sound proofed and near major road. Beds uncomfortable and noisy.

Perfect for our family of four. The size is wonderful, everything supplied for us, and clean. The space is well decorated and the property is beautiful. Landscaped well. I love seeing Beaver Pond through the tree from the porch (loved the rocking chair to read in outside too). Highly recommend for others.

This little hidden cabin was perfect to relax and enjoy quality time with our kids. Close to so many attractions. The hosts went above and beyond to welcome us.. super friendly. We are already planning out next adventure in the summer time to enjoy the deck and fire pit! Thank you.

We have stayed in the cabin for the last few years and our family always has a positive experience. The cabin us super clean and cozy. Our family always enjoys smores by the fire and Christmas movies by the fire afte a long and beautiful hike at Rickett’s GlenMy only feedback I would have ur to maybe have one more small couch or chairs so everyone can sit in a comfortable chair when we watch movies by the fire.

Cabin was clean and cozy with everything you need. Very thoughtful and thorough host.

The Cabin was very comfortable. We were there only overnight. The bedroom downstairs does not have any space for luggage. We left our suitcases in the living room. There was a dresser under the stairs just outside the bedroom. The beds are comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Bring your own soap for the shower. When I was given the key instructions- I was asked if we wanted to rent towels and sheets or bring our own. This kind of surprised me since there was no mention of providing my own in the listing. Yes it is omitted which is not the same thing. I went back and reviewed the listing and read some of the reviews. It was never mentioned. I brought my own sheets and towels. We headed out early before daybreak to make it to our next destination. So we were not there long enough to explore the area.

This was my second trip to this cabin, this time with a group of girlfriends. I absolutely love this cabin! It’s always clean and stocked with all of the essential cooking supplies (including a convenient way to buy firewood!). The rooms are comfortable, the living room is cozy, nights around the fire pit and mornings on the deck with coffee are perfect! It’s very close to all of the Ricketts Glen hikes - which is why I came back with the group! Our host Jessica was easy to communicate with, and was very responsive through the booking process. Really love this property, and can’t wait to come back again!

Will book again for a longer stay. There's a lot in the area and it takes some time to explore. Very cozy and really nice to have coffee available and a washer and dryer.

Cabin was so cute. Beautifully decorated and stocked with all the essentials. Road noise was there as you are right off a busy highway. I enjoyed it. But some may not. Only downside is the upstairs was rather hot seems the air conditioning did not make it all the way up there. Owners were very attentive and responsive. I would go back again.

Well kept up, clean and had all the amenities we needed. Very close to Ricketts Glen State Park. The hostess was very helpful each time we contacted her.

Downstairs bedroom and bathroom did not smell very good

The cabin is located conveniently across the street from a hotel that has a bar and food, and less than 3 miles from the beach of Lake Jean and Rickett's Glen Falls Trail. It's secluded and the property is beautifully maintained. There were only two negatives: the first being that we stayed here when it was 90 and there is no AC upstairs where the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are. Luckily we didn't have guests or additional people with us, as it would have been truly uninhabitable to stay upstairs in the summer. I don't remember this being specified in the listing. The second was that it was a 20 charge for linens, but we were only provided with two small pillows and a tiny blanket that barely covered the both of us. I would recommend skipping the added fee and bringing your own sheets and blankets. Otherwise, overall great experience! Also, there is wood on the property available for sale which added to the convenience. Would stay again, but not in the heat of summer.

Check in was very easy and convenient. The Inn appeared clean and had a nice atmosphere. There was an unpleasant preexisting odor that we could smell walking into the Inn coming from both bathrooms. One bathroom was off the downstairs bedroom. The odor from the bathroom leaked in from the walls to where we could not sleep in that bedroom at all. The hand soap dispensers were so used that hardly anything was coming out of them because it was leaking from the sides. When I turned on the fan in the downstairs bedroom, large clumps of dust flew everywhere. After two showers, we ran out of hot water.

I found Cabin in the Woods (aka Fish Tales Inn) from reading comments on Facebook regarding the Falls Trail at Ricketts Glen State Park…absolutely perfect location if you are looking to do the same…and the 21waterfalls are beautiful!!! There is a huge fire ring for making campfires to stay warm at night, make mountain pies, smores, etc. Two grocery stores are nearby (Country Fresh Market and Mountain Fresh Supermarket) if looking to buy your groceries there. However, Country Fresh Market does not sell corned beef at the deli, except around St. Patrick’s day, if wanting to make rueben mountain pies…may want to plan ahead for that. Highly recommend and we are actually talking about a return trip maybe for next year. Jessica was very responsive with any changes and questions we had as well.

Cabin was clean and comfortable, we spent a lot of time outside around the camp fire. Cabin is close to Rickets Glen State park for fishing and hiking.

Our girl’s waterfall/photography hiking trip was so enjoyable at the little cabin in the woods. We had everything we needed for a fabulous time.

The house was super cute and cozy. Modern appliances and furniture was very comfortable. The shower pressure was great!,Private and set in a wooded lot away from the road. Beautiful landscaping and comfy chairs on front porch where we watched a thunderstorm.The owner was extremely accomodating and responsive. Even checked in after our 1st night to make sure we didnt need anything. Property is minutes from state park. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this property to escape from the chaos of your day to day!

This property is beautifully maintained and better than what we expected! The exterior landscaping and the fire pit were such a lovely welcome, the kitchen had everything we needed (and some pantry essentials we forgot to pack!). The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms had consistent water pressure/temperature, and the living room was cozy. The extras - games, throw blankets, bug spray - were so thoughtful, and much appreciated. Can’t beat the location - centrally located and easy to get to all Ricketts Glen trails, and close enough that we also traveled to nearby Worlds End park. The home itself is off of a major road, but it’s set back enough and doesn’t disturb the peace. Really can’t say enough great things about this property and can’t wait to return!

We had a peaceful stay. We did a one nighter to relax and recharge. The cabin had great amenities for a night in. We arrived during a snow storm and the scenery was picture perfect. Great find for a short visit or a longer visit!!

We didn’t have to reach out to the owner at any point during our stay, as the check-in and check-out process was seamless, and everything was perfectly prepared for us.This holiday was truly one of the best we’ve had in years. If you’re looking for a serene escape surrounded by nature, we highly recommend this log cabin for a memorable family getaway.

The property was well kept, homey, and clean. There was plenty of room, and the location being close to the Falls Trail was wonderful. We got to hike the trail after receiving 6 inches of snow. Absolutely wonderful!

The host was very attentive and helpful with tons of great information inside the cabin regarding the surrounding area. It is a great bonus that it is located within minutes of the park!

We booked this home due to its proximity to Rickett's Glen and due to all the positive reviews. The reviews are as accurate as can be. We agree - 5 stars - 10/10. A perfectly quaint cabin/cottage on a secluded lot. A perfect mix of rustic and modern. Plenty of heat, a Roku TV, open staircase, well-appointed kitchen/living room. The aspect that solidifies our high rating is the owner's communication. Very prompt and personable. They checked in on us the day after we checked in. Thank you!

We love staying at the cabin each year with our family. The cabin is always clean and inviting. The property is beautiful and our family sips coffee while watching our grandchild play in the yard. It is so great to be so close to the park so we can hike each year. Thank you for everything!

The place is great and we had a great time. We did see a mama black bear and 2 cubs in the back yard so be careful. The pictures need to be updated there is new living room, dinning room and desk furniture. It is still very nice furniture.

Negatives septic Gas coming up in bathrooms Furniture is not same as listed no nice recliner. Pictures are outdated. Loud road noise. Hot upstairs and charges extra to put sheets on the bed. Positive well equipped kitchen. Good location for waterfall hikes. Pretty cabin overall.

The cabin was very cute and clean. The location is perfect if you want to visit Ricketts Glenn for hiking. Only issue was it is much closer to a road than anticipated, so traffic is definitely heard in the mornings. Our wifi did not work and we were unable to find the router to reset as the instruction book said that was left on the counter. Last, there was a loud vibrating sound that woke us up in the morning

Was just looking for a nice weekend getaway and this place was perfect! I loved everything about this cabin. We will definitely be back, hopefully with the kids!
