Beautiful cabin in wooded area, but still close to downtown and train depot. Owners are very responsive and dealt with minor issue that came up, quickly and well. Kitchen is well stocked with the basics for cooking, which is great because there really are few dining options in Chama.

It was secluded but still close to attractions and restaurants. Very quiet area, full of wildlife you can watch right from the porches. We plan to visit again as soon as we can.

The cabin was extremely clean. No shortage of supplies. The kitchen, bathroom and the bedrooms had all the conveniences I could have asked for and more that I didn't expect. The kitchen had higher quality ingredients for use also. The location can't be beat. It is in the middle of a forested area and was less than a 5 minute walk to Edward Sargeant Wildlife Preserve. Really nice walking trails and beautiful on the Preserve. 5 minute drive to the center of Chama for groceries restaurants, etc. Less than 40 minutes away in Colorado are excellent trails and only 1 hour away from Pagosa Springs. 30 minutes away is Heron Lake State Park in New Mexico. Beautiful scenery at Heron Park also. We had daily visitors of deer, hummingbirds and other wildlife at the cabin.I can't say enough about Austin. Check in was a breeze. I had a couple of questions during our stay and Austin would respond immediately or within 10 minutes. We had a real windy night that knocked out the pilot light on the water heater. I couldn't get it started and they had to do a little work on it to get it going, but it was up within 30 minutes of notifying Austin. He also gave us some tour guide advice as he lives in the area. Great stay. We will be back.

We went to Chama to ride the train with our granddaughters, they loved it! Our 6 year old granddaughter called the Cabin in the pines the perfect little house.

We had the most wonderful stay at this charming VRBO in Chama! The house was absolutely perfect—beautifully decorated, cozy, and full of thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. The backyard area was such a lovely space to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the hospitality of the owners. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. You can really tell they care about their guests and take great pride in their property. We’re so grateful for the experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Chama.

This property is a gem! The home was well kept and clean. We lived on the wrap around porch. We enjoyed watching the deer graze as we drank our coffee! I highly recommend this rental and we would definitely stay here again!

The location of the cabin is unparalleled! It’s so close to the wildlife protection area you can walk there. The cabin itself is so cute and cozy, with really comfortable beds. We wished there was a little more of a living room/lounge area as the one sofa was a little cramped, but beyond that it was a really nice stay! The wrap around porch is gorgeous and although we were there on a snowy day, would have otherwise loved to enjoy the outdoor living space. Austin was super communicative and helped ensure an easy check in process.

Overall the property was very nice. Good location, nice and spacious and plenty of room for the dogs to run around outside. The wrap around porch was great for relaxing outside in the afternoon. Inside had everything you’d need. Very cute layout and amenities, plenty of blankets and fans to adjust temp and comfort level. The only thing I will say is that we did not find it to be very close to much river access, and we ended up driving out each day to a spot we normally fish at, but this wasn’t a problem at all, just not exactly close to river access like advertised. We would definitly stay here again!
