Cabin Getaway on Walter Stone

We had a great stay at the cabin, we couldn't have asked for more! Cozy, clean, and just far enough away for privacy, yet not too far from everything. Check-in was easy, and communication was a breeze.

Clean. Friendly hosts. Beds were typical rental comfort... never as good as home, but better than some others I have stayed in. There was an oscillating fan in only one of the two rooms, so we both ended up staying in there given that it got a little warm upstairs for us when sleeping. It had a remote feeling and views including a morning fox sighting and daily evening fireflies. But it didn't take long to get to town. And the location was convenient for the multiple state parks that we visited. They provided all paper goods except coffee filters, so we had to run into town for those and to grab a few batteries for the tv remote since the only extra batteries they left were the wrong size. But overall we liked the place, and I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful quiet little place

I strongly warn against renting this cabin due to the host’s poor communication, lack of concern for guests, and serious safety issues. They refused to adjust my booking, even though I requested a change the same day. While I accepted my mistake, a reasonable host would have at least offered a refund, but not this one.From the moment we arrived, it was clear the cabin was not well-maintained. It smelled musty, lacked proper cleanliness, and had a major wasp problem. My child has a severe allergy, making this a serious danger. When I informed the host, they immediately mentioned a wasp nest, something I never brought up. How did they know? Were they already aware or were there hidden cameras? Either possibility is disturbing.Safety was completely neglected. The smoke detector did not work, and the bedrooms had zero curtains or blinds, leaving us fully exposed. The living room and bathroom only had thin, sheer curtains. The welcome letter stated after-hours maintenance “might not be available,” so at 9:30 PM, I had no options. No wasp spray was provided, despite the host admitting bugs were common. Experienced hosts prepare for this, this one did not.With bad weather approaching and feeling unsafe, we packed up and left by 7 AM. I messaged the host to give them a chance to make things right, but they did nothing. They showed zero accountability for their rental’s condition.This host is inexperienced, negligent, and unprepared to rent a property.

We enjoyed a quiet weekend away from the noise of the city. The house was charming and had everthing we needed for our stay. We went hiking to Burgess Falls, Cummins Falls and Fall Creek Falls state park. It is close to Cookeville for dining and shopping if wanted. The only thing I'd warn future renters is the stairs are very steep if that's a concern.

I love this place! It has a great design, super cute decor, and breathtaking views. It is very comfortable and peaceful. I can’t wait to go back.

Very cute, very clean, will definitely book again

This place is perfect for a romantic getaway. Tucked away in the woods for privacy, beautifully decorated, but also close enough to Cookeville to take in a bit of the night life there. Literal perfection

It was perfect. Exactly what we were looking for. Cabin was exceptionally well appointed. Every detail was appreciated. Our kids just kept wondering around saying, “this place is so cute!” We had so much fun we didn’t even turn on TV!

First A frame we've ever stayed in, it was interesting. This is a neat little cabin, perfect for a small family. We had everything we needed for a two night stay and slept quite comfortably both nights. Kinda unfortunate that there isn't a view from the cabin of the adjacent valley to the North but nice to be tucked back in the woods and out of sight too. We'd be happy to stay here again in the future next time we need to be in or around Sparta.

This is such a cute cabin. The driveway is pretty steep but we really enjoyed our stay!

Me and the wife stayed for our a quick getaway for our anniversary. Very clean cabin in a nice quiet area or TN but still fairly close to Cookeville and Sparta for whatever you want to do
