The Cabin at Green Mountain is located three miles south of Nemo, a tiny mountain town set in the picturesque valley of Boxelder Creek. Central to Deadwood, Sturgis, Rapid City and Hill City, our convenient location let’s you visit top attractions while providing a special haven of rest and relaxation.

The cabin is nestled under tall pines on the edge of a strikingly beautiful and secluded Black Hills meadow. The view from the front porch across a sweep of pasture, ringed by steep rock ridges and dense pine and spruce, is punctuated by a sheer white limestone cliff rising in the distance. This private little valley is graced by Jim Creek. The diverse flora and quietly tumbling creek attract a wide variety of Black Hills animals and birds.

Enjoy relaxing on the front porch, hiking in the woods, trout fishing in the area creeks, cross-country skiing, birding, golf courses, restaurants and all major Black Hills attractions.

The brilliantly redesigned 1910 building features a lofted cathedral ceiling and a large field-stone, gas fireplace. Three sleeping areas comfortably accommodate up to five people. The main level has a full bath, a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, a comfortable living room, and a bedroom with bunk beds and a queen bed. Upstairs, the open loft holds a double fold out futon. This area also can be used as a second living room and has a special parquet card table perfect for games, puzzles or projects. An upstairs master bedroom has a queen bed and a private full bath.

This cabin was exactly what we were hoping for and more. Beautiful remote setting with a stunning view! And deer every evening and morning in the field right outside the front door. Note that this cabin is remote so make sure you get supplies in Rapid City before heading there. Besides that we loved our stay at Green Mountain.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The setting was unbelievably beautiful and centrally located for everything we wanted to see. Mary and Mark were wonderful hosts. They ensured that we had everything we needed and were available for any questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend this property, especially for outdoor enthusiasts.

This is one of the best Vrbo's I/we have ever stayed in during our family vacations. The cabin was impeccably clean and had all the necessary things we needed for our stay. The seclusion of this cabin is just what we needed to disconnect from the noise of the outside world. Mary and Mark were excellent hosts and quickly solved the minor issue we had during our stay. The location was a great, centrally located, home base for our exploration of the Black Hills and all it has to offer. I think my favorite (any our daughter's) spot was the front porch as it was a great spot to just sit and read - or in her case draw. You know it is a great stay when the final day comes and you a so saddened to leave. If you are exploring the Black Hills - or just need a quiet relaxing spot to just unwind, we cannot recommend this cabin enough. I hope our travels bring us back to the Black Hills and if they do I know exactly where to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Mary and Mark were great hosts. We saw 2 beautiful rainbows off the back porch, explored the property and Mary and Mark's art gallery. It was quiet and peaceful. Mary and Mark checked on us often. The beds were comfy and we enjoyed exploring SD and family time at the cabin. Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven.

The cabin's location proved to be perfectly suited for our excursions. The kitchen was comprehensively equipped with an array of utensils, cookware, and dishware, facilitating the preparation of a complete Thanksgiving meal. The accommodations were exceptional, and when we inadvertently forgot coffee, the property manager expediently provided freshly ground coffee beans. The views from the cabin were truly spectacular, showcasing deer, a serene meadow, and resplendent sunrises and sunsets. The beds were ideally firm and comfortable, complemented by an ample supply of extra blankets for colder nights. A convenient propane-powered fireplace ensured a warm and welcoming ambiance. The price was remarkably reasonable, and the cabin's exterior was thoughtfully adorned with a festive string of Christmas lights that were illuminated upon our evening return.! To the next people fortunate to book the cabin. It will be well worth it.!

This was a quick getaway / girls trip for a friend visiting from out of town and all of us truly enjoyed our stay. Centrally located we were able to enjoy Rapid City, Mt Rushmore and Deadwood all within 40 minutes of the cabin. The drive to and from all of these locations was outstanding and the views spectacular in every direction. The views from the front porch and the surrounding woods are deserving of a day of exploring. Coffee on the porch at daybreak and wine on the porch and day's end ushered in magnificent views at every turn. If we didn't explore the surrounding parks and monuments - this cabin alone is a vacation in of itself and we were blessed to be there.

Just what my wife and I were looking for. A comfortable cabin amidst trees in a quiet area. We saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching the sunrise over the bluff. The stars at night were fantastic to view there. The hosts were fantastic and ensured we were comfortable throughout our stay. Would stay there again if we were in the area.

My husband is allergic to bees. when I explained this to the host all I received was a shrug. Both hornet and yellowjackets had nested in the Poarch slats. We had to go buy bee spray and fly swatters. Also, the interior of the cabin was infested with moths!! The recommendation was to place a bowl with water and soap under a night light on the kitchen counter. It didn't stop the moths from flying into us when playing game at the kitchen table. We were unable to cook a proper meal with the pans supplied. The view was breathtaking, and it was cute. The beds were comfortable, and the towels were nice.

Quiet valley with lovely views! Cute chipmunk and hummingbird on the porch with the flower pots full of flowers and nice string lights for night time. Cordial hosts and host cat! Central location for all of the regional sites just off one of the scenic drives in the area. Would definitely recommend.

We loved our stay at this cabin for our family of six! It was perfect for us and very centrally located to all of the places we wanted to visit during our Black Hills vacation. We were pretty busy throughout the day sightseeing and going on adventures, but it was always so nice to come back to this relaxing spot! We loved sitting on the porch watching the wildlife and hummingbirds! Mary made us feel very welcome and made sure to check in if we needed anything! Highly recommend this cabin!! Such a beautiful and serene place!

Cute old cabin with great views from the front porch. We didn't spend much time at the cabin but seemed to have everything we needed and Mary was great about communicating with us. AC is a portable unit but seems to keep the cabin cool enough. Showers are a a little bit of a struggle with shower heads being low (~5'-6 or lower)

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this cozy rustic cabin. We enjoyed sitting on the porch admiring the beautiful view of the mountains and meadow. The cabin is well kept and very clean. Mary was a wonderful host checking on us and helping us get familiar with the area. Mike and Mary were on vacation most of the time we were there but their friendly ranch manager Ralph checked on us each day. Ralph even turned the front porch lights on for us if we weren’t in before dark 😊This was our first time to South Dakota and this cabin is central to all the sites- Mnt Rushmore, Deadwood, Custer and the amazing Badlands! Would definitely recommend this cabin and stay here again!
