Cute, clean, and quaint cabin. Check in process was easy and efficient. There was a fire pit and grill right in front of our cabin, which was a nice surprise. The pool, hot tub, and restaurant/bar were nice amenities, and we could lay out and watch the lake. The listing said use of yard games/cornhole, but when we asked about them we were told they were not actually available, had we of known that we would have brought our own. Otherwise, we were left to our devices and unbothered by other guests and staff, which was nice and relaxing.
We rented a cabin at Oak Park Marina Resort for a weekend away. I booked last minute and had some questions I sent the property manager which were answered promptly. Upon arrival, check-in was quick and easy and they provide a code for the cabin door which made it so nice to not have to juggle with keys coming and going. The cabin consisted of one bedroom with a queen bed and bunks. The couch in the living room also pulled down into a Queen. Make sure to bring enough sheets/blankets as those are not provided as well as linens for the kitchen/bath. The cabin was impressively cleaned and I appreciated that. There was also everything you needed in the kitchen to cook/prepare basic meals. I do wish there was brighter lighting in the bathroom and a larger mirror somewhere - but that is purely a personal preference for getting ready. In addition, I'm not sure what is kept in the closet in the bedroom (it is locked) but having access to hang clothes or store luggage may be helpful for others if they're traveling with others. Since it was only my husband and I, the lack of space wasn't an issue but I know traveling with children can come with a lot of stuff. On-site, they have beautiful views of the bay and a marina that you can dock a boat. There is also a restaurant onsite which was unfortunately closed for the season (closed Labor Day weekend) but, there are plenty of other options for food nearby. They have a pool and a hot tub for your use. It was too cold for the pool and the hot tub wasn't hot when we decided to try it out, but was told by others that the night before was working just fine. We didn't need anything during our stay but I felt like if I had reached out about anything, it would have been addressed based purely on how great my initial exchange with the property was and by my check-in experience. There is plenty to do near by. We rented a boat 2 miles away. Boat wasn't the best but it kept us afloat. ? Property manager recommended Skipper's for dinner and it didn't disappoint. Right on the water, great service and food. I also personally recommend Lunkenheimer brewery which is a quick couple minute drive - great atmosphere and beer. Overall, we enjoyed the cabin/amenities and the location. Would definitely come back with our children in the warmer months to enjoy the pool, games and to have the convenience of an on-site restaurant! .
The cabin is very nice but it needs more A/C for the bedroom and a ceiling fan.
We stayed in one of the cabins for a weekend trip to the Sterling renaissance festival. We loved everything. The cabin was nice and clean and had it's own small kitchen and a full size fridge. The on-site restaurant was great as well. We liked having the pool and hot tub after a long day walking the hills of the Ren faire. Would definitely stay there again!
Peaceful and pretty view of the lake!
This is a really fun place. If you have a boat it's perfect because you can grab a slip (extra) for your stay. But, make sure you understand that the extra bunk beds are in the one bedroom. The futon is in the main room and not that comfortable but works. Overall, we liked it and will stay here again.
We enjoyed the cabin and property very much and it served well for a much needed short getaway for my wife and I to enjoy our 20th anniversary. We really enjoyed the beauty of the property and the surrounding area, and found several things to do within a short drive of Oak Park. All of the staff that we encountered made us feel welcome and were extremely accommodating and helpful with anything that we needed. Only two things that we would have liked to be different; 1) The listing mentioned to bring our own linens, which we did , but we did not know that pillows and blankets would not be provided (although I know this is because of the abnormality due to the current Coronavirus situation so I will chalk that up to a miscommunication), and 2) It would have been nice to have the Saltbox Smokehouse restaurant on site open while we were there. However, these were minor issues and I should mention that the staff there did their best to find us pillows and blankets, and there were several restaurants within driving distance that provided very good food and drink. My wife and I look forward to visiting again sometime in the future.
We were very impressed with the cabin itself. It was spotless when we arrived and seemed brand new. The only complaint we could think of was there were zero tv channels for the kids. The marina seemed a bit run down but the pool was fine. The amenities such as games, kids activities and such were not readily available but we did stay on a Sunday - Tuesday. It was about a 12-15 minute drive to the public beach and “downtown” Sodus. If you don’t mind being a bit out of town then it was fine. Overall, a good experience but next time we will choose to stay closer to the beach.
We were able to do and see a lot for short stay. We golfed at Sodus Bay Heights, hiked Chimney Bluffs, enjoyed the beach at Sodus Bay Point, and we’re able to enjoy various restaurants within a 10-15 drive. The cabin was adorable, clean and had everything we needed. We had a nice water view! A porch umbrella would be a great asset. We will definitely return!
The cabin is in great location, there is a restaurant there you can do take out, there is a marina you can launch your boat. You can also rent kayak if you want to at reasonable price. Room is at nice size and I really like the water pressure in the shower. Will come again!
