We go to Savage River to Fly Fish and hang out. The location of this cabin Brownie Cabin is awesome. Cabin for three persons is spacious. The location to Fly Fishing areas is very good. There is even a fly shop right there. Can't wait to return again.
The perfect getaway that our family needed. Time to unwind, detach from the busyness of every day life... and just be together with each other and nature. Our boys played in the river, made bows and arrows, so many hikes, it was amazing. The cabin was so cozy and just perfect. We were truly grateful to stay here.
Disappointed Stay at the Cottage Our stay at the Cottage was a major disappointment and not worth the money we paid. It was difficult to find the location, even with GPS, and the house was not properly updated nor cleaned. The abundance of spiderwebs throughout the house was concerning, and we found shorts near the bed in the downstairs room. Additionally, the pillows upstairs had an unpleasant smell indicating a lack of cleaning. While we understood that there was no internet access inside the house, we were disappointed to discover that the Wi-Fi connection advertised on the deck could not be established. When we contacted Mike, the point of contact for our stay, he was unhelpful and even rude in his response. Mike’s Response was “There is no wifi in the house. The MacDonald's in Westernport has wifi”. Despite paying for two nights, we decided to leave the next day because of the unsatisfactory conditions. We left the property as clean as possible and informed Mike of our decision, but he never responded or inquired about the reason for our departure. As frequent VRBO users, this was our first time leaving a property due to such poor conditions. We paid for two nights, and it was not worth the price. Mike's unprofessionalism was further confirmed when he failed to respond to our text message. Overall, our experience at this property was unpleasant and not what we were expecting.
Will maybe book again. Great deck and fire pit with logs.
Lovely setting with property backing onto the river. This made for a great fishing trip weekend for my dad, my brother, and me. Very easy to get back-and-forth to different spots on the river and a comfortable place to relax between outings.
What a beautiful place. We went to do some fishing...but, the weather didnt cooperate well. However, we loved the rustic cabin, the scenery and the fly shop!
We enjoyed our stay in this well appointed cottage with outstanding views of the Savage River just steps away from the back deck. The extra bed in the loft area was great for our teenage girls who get along but like their own sleep space. Everything was 5 stars for us except the location (4 stars) because it was a bit of a distance (about 30 min) to Wisp where we were skiing but manageable. However, if you are fly fishing it doesn't get any better/closer!
Our first stay and definitely not our last! A cozy rustic cabin in the wood along a perfect little river running through it! gorgeous fall colors - a lovely spot for fishing and hiking and nature-ing. Loved it!
Sparkling clean, comfortable home in a picture-perfect setting. I have been renting this cabin for years and it never disappoints.
Even though we were near other cabins, we had a very private stay in the spacious cabin on the Savage Rivier. The cabin was very clean and the beds and furniture were very comfortable. We could fly fish from our back yard. We are looking forward to returning.
The cabin is in a great area and is perfect for a relaxing getaway.
Great location and really cute cabin inside, not far from Deep Creek and not far from Frostburg. Relaxing sitting by the Savage River listening to the water
The cabin was comfortable and quaint. Enjoy being on the river.
We had a great time at the Brownie cabin.
Next to a rolling brook. Good for fishing
Thanks for letting me stay in your fabulous cabin again. I have stayed in this cabin at least once a year since 2015. The cabin is spotless and well-provisioned. The beds are comfortable and the scenery cannot be matched. I love hearing the sound of the running river and the challenge of trying to pull a fish or two from it. This is definitely one of my happy places.
I went to the Brownie Cabin with my son-in-law and 10-year-old grandson for a guys weekend. As my grandson put it the river is mesmerizing! It is a great spot for relaxing on the deck, fishing in the river which is just 25 yards from the back of the house, and sitting around a roaring fire pit. You've got plenty of privacy and the house is just right. Clean knotty pine throughout and a modern kitchen and bathrooms. Beds are very comfortable. And the sound from having the widows open is the best! My grandson said, Papa, can we put this on the 'go back to' list? Absolutely!
A wonderful location on the Savage River. Quiet, except for the sounds of the river. The cabin is clean and comfortable. Nothing lacking. The warm knotty pine interior makes for a cozy feel. A great place to relax by the river, fire at night and comfortable outside chairs. No trouble with Verizon cell phone and internet connection in the cabin. Stayed the first week of May.
We stayed at the property over the long Easter weekend and could not have had a better time. The cabin itself was extremely clean and had everything we could possibly need and more! The view of the river from the deck was amazing. For the fishermen the ease of access to the river allowed for frequent trips down to fish throughout the day. The yard around the property was great for the kids to run around and play. We definitely will be back!
