Just minutes from the historic Mast General Store and ever-popular Valle Crucis Park, it is still convenient to historic downtown Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk as well.

Upper level: Loft with two twins

Looking for a Valle Crucis riverfront cabin that is peaceful yet still convenient to everything Welcome to Bridgepoint Cabin, located right on the Watauga River. Whether you want to step off your porch for fishing and wading, or just rock away the hours while listening to the river roll by, this family vacation rental is for you! The convenient single-level living and flat yard are a plus for families with young children and grandparents alike. Best of all, you are still just five minutes from historic downtown Boone and within a few more minutes of Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Grandfather Mountain.

As you approach the cabin across the wooden bridge, look to your left and you are likely to see someone taking advantage of the great trout fishing in this section of the river. A glance to the right and you may see one of the grey herons that frequent this stretch – they are fishing too!

No need to give up your river view when going inside – the open living area overlooks the river. On chilly days, enjoy a fire in the custom gas fireplace while relaxing in the comfortable furnishings, or enjoy a movie on the flat screen television. The open kitchen with tiled counters and backsplash makes meal preparation a snap so you can get back outside for more High Country adventures.

Time for bed Just off the main living area are two wood-paneled bedrooms. The master has a king bed and television with all the best streaming apps already downloaded so you can use your own credentials and not lose track of your favorite shows' progress. The second bedroom has a lovely wood and scrollwork queen bed. Upstairs in the loft you'll find two twin beds, for a total sleeping space for 6 guests.

In the mornings, we recommend stepping out through the French doors to the covered porch with your coffee and settling in on the porch swing while you watch the mist rise off the river. After breakfast, head just a couple miles down the road and visit the original Mast General Store. After that, why not stop in at the little deli and pick up some sandwiches or a slice of one of their great desserts, then pull in at the popular Valle Crucis Park for a picnic. After lunch, the family can choose their activity – enjoy a stroll or bike ride on the paved paths, let the kids play on the swings, or take advantage of another fishing opportunity – the park offers both river access and a stocked pond for the kids to try, unless they prefer trying to catch one of the large bullfrogs! Summer evenings often offer live Music in the Valle there at the park for a little foot-tapping fun.

That evening, back at Bridgepoint Cabin, walk across the yard to the river and enjoy! Feet sore from all the day's exploring Just have a seat on the riverbank and soak them in the cool water. There is a shallow section flowing across the rocks where the kids can play, or cast a line into the deeper sections and see if you can catch dinner. There's nothing like firing up the grill for the evening catch.

If you plan to catch an Appalachian State University Mountaineers football game – that's right, the ones who were on the cover of Sports Illustrated – or head over to Blowing Rock for Art in the Park or a visit to Tweetsie Railroad, or to the slopes at Appalachian Ski Mountain, Sugar Mountain or tubing at Hawksnest, this cabin provides a great starting point. It is just a short drive to most area attractions and events.
Any time of year, Bridgepoint Cabin in historic Valle Crucis NC is a great home base for your mountain adventures and relaxing retreats.

Bridgepoint Cabin has convenient paved access all the way to the driveway.

Overall good stay. Was aware of road by house due to other reviews and google maps but was a lot of road noise at night and during the day. Cute cabin, floors could use an update as sagging in some spots and wear and tear of carpeting/drapes. Only used the coffee maker so can’t speak to items needed for cooking. Kids loved the loft but very steep ladder, wouldn’t recommend going up/down unsupervised if on younger side. Was notified 2 days before arrival that hot tub wasn’t working which was a big let down. Also had a full trash can upon arrival which wasn’t taken care of during our 4 day stay, those issues were addressed and some money refunded for inconveniences. Original heating system to home which was difficult to determine as no numbers to gauge temperature. Each room had wall units also with remotes but no manual on how to use them so 2/3 nights were a little too warm for my liking but figured it out a bit by third night. Fire pit was nice for a night of making s’mores. Fine for short stay. Was in great location, 20-30 minutes in any direction to our adventures (beech, Boone, Appalachian ski mtn, hawksnest tubing, etc)

Cabin was comfortable and clean. Property is old and in somewhat disrepair. Kitchen is marginally equiped. Jacuzzi cover is very difficult to take off and put on. Front porch furniture is lacking and uncomfortable. Overall was ok for 2 people and a short stay.

Overall the stay was lovely. Close access to the river and the hot tub were a lot of fun. There’s also a bar barn through the field across the bridge that was a lovely place to adventure. Only cons were we requested an air mattress which was not there, the mail toilet was finicky, and a nail in the porch sticking up. Maintenance did come and fix most things though.

We had a lovely relaxing stay. We loved the proximity to the river and the ability to hear it from the porch. Having the hot tub and fire pit gave us different areas to relax in. The cabin is on the corner next to the bridge but although it was pretty busy during the day it did not affect our enjoyment of our stay. We got plenty of waves and the evenings were quieter. The cabin had all we could ask for and we enjoyed every minute. Would definitely come back!!

Place was old in the tooth. On the conner of bridge so you heard everyone with a load pickup truck, motorcycle going to work or coming back. Not worth the money.

We loved staying here for our spring break week. We enjoyed the bedrooms and the two older kids loved the loft area. The home was clean and well maintained, aside from some sub floor issues in the hallway but that didn't affect our stay. The hot tub was nice and we enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the deer and fishermen. The area was nice and quiet. I didn't realize how close by the road and other homes would be, but it was still very quiet and relaxing. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Great little cabin. We bought our dogs and stayed for a week and skied at Sugar mountain. Good location to skiing both sugar and beech. And close too Boone. River was great. Only a couple minor things: Hot tub cover is very hard to get back on taken completely off, and not as much privacy as we originally thought (road is right behind the house). Otherwise good stay!

Loved the cabin and location! Right on the river with beautiful views. Close to the ski resorts… we went to Sugar mountain (15 minute drive or so) very close to Boone and the amenities. Our dog loved it and enjoyed the multiple deer running nearby! The hot tub was great! We did stay during a weather event and it was nice to see the snowplows and brining trucks going right by. The roads were fine! Tough to see the debris from the hurricane… happy to bring back some life to the area!!! We did try to fish but no luck… ecosystem changes understood but we gave it a try anyway. I will say the cabin advertised a gas grill… the grill was present but the propane tank was not. The towels were sparse… 4 total for the 3 of us… we used the washer and dryer frequently… plenty of paper products for a 3 day trip. I did bring some but didn’t need them. Also brought laundry detergent which I used but didn’t need the dish detergent. All in all, we had a great time!

The property had some nice features that aligned with the pictures, but a few details impacted the overall experience. For example, there was a trash bag near the entrance that appeared to have been disturbed by an animal, and the house had a noticeable musty scent. The bed linens and comforter were quite thin, which could be improved for added comfort. Additionally, the floor outside the two main-floor bedrooms felt unstable and may need attention. While these aspects might have been less significant at a different price point, they stood out given the premium rate.

The property was in a great location. It is busy on the bridge as it’s a well traveled road but it would not stop me from coming back. Lots of fishing on the bridge but fun to watch. You can put a tube in and float down to the valle cruis park which was so fun! The hot tub was removed from the property but Blue Ridge Mountain rentals was amazing to work with and making things right on that end. I got numerous emails making sure we were all set with our stay and would deffinitely be back!

The cabin wasn’t as secluded as I expected. It was next to a road which made me a little nervous with my young child and small dog. They communicated that the hot tub was broken which was very disappointing because that was one requirement during my search. The chairs by the fire place were broken. Overall, the cabin was disappointing and run down.
