First of all, the cabin and setting was great. It was like new and clean. I'm really glad I drove my truck. The road in is full of large stones and rutted. My car would have bottomed out and I wouldn't have been happy. A few things I wish I knew in advance. I should have brought my own table service. There was only one fork, 3 plates and a couple of bowls. Buy some firewood before you drive in if you intend to have a campfire. There are many places along the way to buy. Bring a coffee filter. I don't use them a home and I didn't think to bring any. It was so nice to sit on the deck and eat dinner and get in the hot tub. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

It was cozy and clean. The microwave was kinda beat up but it worked. There were cobwebs in corners and on the fan but other than that it felt clean. It was a cute cozy cabin. Bring extra blankets if you get cold.

My rating is mainly for the outdoor aspect of the cabin. The hot tub great, loved having a firepit, and loved the location of the cabin, not too far from stores or hiking but far enough to not notice it. Now the negatives, the driveway is awful. It wasnt until the check in email 2 days before that it was noted you won't get to the cabin without 4x4 in winter months. This should be highlighted BEFORE booking, because even during summer months I'm not sure a car or small SUV would make it with all of the deep potholes. I have a small exhaust leak on my Standard size SUV after going up and down this driveway. Second, the driveway is strictly a 1 lane, which is expected. However, there is absolutely no way for 2 cars to pass unless one backs all the way up. It felt extremely dangerous trying to get up and down the drive. Cleanliness was definitely lacking. As soon as we walked in, there was half a bottle of wine on the counter, a cleaning rag, and chips on the floor with ants covering them. Anything left on a counter was covered in ants within a few minutes, which is slightly expected based on location. There is mold at the bottom of the back door curtains forming and the floor is rotting by the shower. There was also never hot water in the shower. I messaged the host to ask if the drive was 1-way, and I am still waiting for a response, so I didnt even get a chance to solve any of this during the stay.

Experience was pleasant other than the massive pot holes before coming in the cabin. I would only rent this cabin if you have a truck to manage the drive up.

I use VRBO a lot for rental properties and based on cost for this cabin it could have been a little better kept. Drive to the cabin is in poor condition, porch board was broken, window was left open, mattress and couch need to be replaced, deck was not swept off to access hot-tub, and there was an ant infestation in February.

The property was not great. When we arrived a window was left open, there is a hole in the deck floorboard as you enter the property. The mattress and couch need to be replaced immediately. No support and you can here the springs squeaking in the bed. The deck to the hot tub was not swept. Amenities were very basic for what was charged. The hill road going up to access the cabin was in terrible shape

Our first impression as we turned onto our road was we're not in Kansas anymore. There is this rundown property with all kinds of deteriorated homes, trailers, and cars. It left us with an uneasy, you got a purdy mouth feeling. Then we turned onto the gravel road that has all of these rental cabins. They were labeled clearly and spaced apart pretty well. It was kind of fun driving down this road to get to our cabin, but itd be nice if they'd come through and fix the countless ruts that we had to dodge. The location seemed to be very central to a lot of the things we wanted to do which was nice. When we opened the door to the cabin, we were punched in the face with heavy mold odors which instantly triggered our allergies. Luckily it was nice outside with very few bugs so we were able to air it out pretty well. When we opened up the hot tub, we were punched in the face again by chlorine so strong that it burned our eyes and throats. I think the dispenser floating in there must've been designed for a pool. I took it out and left it open to air that out as well. The water level was also low so we had to fill it up with the hose that was nearby. There were rotten boards at the front door, rust on the fridge and oven, boogers and a bug carcass on the blanket. The bed, pillows, and even the couch were very thin and had no life to them, we just sank into all of them and we arent big people. More lighting would've been nice. A board is used to lock the back door.

The first impression was rotting wood on the porch. There is a strong smell of mildew as soon as you enter. It wasn't dirty per say. But all of the furniture is awful. The bed and loveseat sink in. One of the inside chairs and one of the outside chairs are broken. Even the stove and refrigerator need replaced. They're rusted and gross.

As soon as we pulled into the cabin I noticed trash by the side of the cabin and immediately got concerned. The cabin was dirty inside and out on the deck. The hot tub had slim on the top. The bed was uncomfortable and could use new pillows. My husband and I normally stay in airbnbs several times a year and all have had coffee. There was a coffee pot and fliters but no coffee. I would definitely not stay there again.

We couldn’t get ahold of the host or property manager, we didn’t end up staying there thankfully there was a hotel we found to stay at. Don’t book if you don’t have a 4x4 or a big truck because you won’t make it there just like we couldn’t. Dirt road with pot holes everywhere at a very steep incline. We got stuck in the middle of the road close to the cabin. Wish the manager would have communicated if you don’t have a truck you’re not going to be able to get there. There was no cell service to get any help. Horrible experience hopefully i will be able to get my Money back as it’s hard to get ahold of the owner

Junk yard at the bottom of entrance looks like something from Texas chainsaw massacre. The road up to the cabin has potholes 3feet wide and almost a full foot deep. If it is raining or snowing 4x4 is required. The cleaning team left a bill fold for tips along with there cash app and venmo handles for a tip even tho you pay a cleaning fee upfront. Only thing good about this place was the roof over our head.

We liked the location and the secludedness of the cabin. However, 4WD really is a must to get up that hill! Had all the amenities we needed. Chair on the deck is in need of repair, and the fire pit had garbage in it when we arrived.

Wanted a quiet in the woods get a way. This was the answer. Very cozy and I loved the mirror/window above the bath sink. A bit weary about this area with that horrible junkyard down below. I honesty would be afraid to stay there with out a man. Any one having such a junky area right there can't be normal. I've been going to Hocking Hills all my life. Was not aware of such a site in such a beautiful area such a shame to do this to our beautiful area where people come from all areas to enjoy.

It was great that it was tucked away. The hotub was perfect. My only complaint would be that the drive is steep, which would be fine if it weren't for the potholes.... the weather was fine and still I wasn't sure if I was going to make it, at one point I started rolling backwards.

It was a nice place to stay after a long day of hiking. We just needed a place to sleep and a hot tub. The driveway was rough and the shower didnt get very warm. Other than that it was fine. We had a lovely time exploring Hockin Hills for our 8th anniversary ♡

Loved the setting. Thought the fauna was a bit overgrown scraping the car when on the property. Cabin cleanliness could have been better, rust on the refrigerator not a good first impression, and bed and pillows were not very comfortable. Loved sitting on the deck, and the hot tub very unique. We did not bring coffee, but that is on us, but that would have been convenient for the price.

The road to get to the cabin was filled with HUGE potholes that you can not avoid! I seriously thought we were going to damage our car getting to the cabin. We took a video of it because it was so crazy. Its also a single lane road so we had a couple of challenging encounters with other vehicles and 2 way traffic. When you turn off Phelps to enter Blue Rose property, there is a very sketchy property on the corner that looks like a page out of an I Spy book. The cabin itself was OK; privacy, fire pit, nice hot tub that was easy to use. It's not far from the hikes we were doing. However...the shower is a square, so it's hard wash your legs in it. Maybe a movable shower head would help? The bed is small and in need of new pillows and mattress! The pillows are flat and lumpy and you can feel the springs in the mattress. Cleanliness; it's a cabin in the woods so not super high expectations here but I did find a dog ball under the bed.
