Blue Door Cabin- Spacious, family-friendly- Hot tub, Screened porch, Fire pit

Our family really enjoyed staying in the Blue Door Cabin in Townsend it was quiet with easy parking access and plenty of space for my 6 grandkids. They loved the hot tub and we spent most evenings at the fire pit. Very clean and beautiful place.

Stunning cabin! I came up for the half marathon and was very pleased that the distance to start was walkable. Cabin was immaculate and had plenty of room. Well stocked. Loved the porch and jacuzzi. We already have plans to return.

Our stay was perfect! The cabin was clean, comfortable and so very cozy. Loved it! We have fallen in love with the Smokies and when we return would love to stay at this cabin again!

Everything was great

This was my first family getaway to Tennessee and it did not disappoint at all! The cabin was as listed, didn’t see any bears this time around lol. All the beds were neatly made, cabin clean top to bottom. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back real soon. Thank you for having us

This cabin was a fantastic place! Low-key and quiet with everything we needed and more. A great central location for day adventures, but plenty nearby. The owners were fantastic to work with as well. Can't wait to come back!

Amenities poorly maintained. We have stayed here several times. This time we arrived to an HVAC unit that was shut down (for the winter, maybe?). Contacted the host who remotely turned it back on. However, HVAC was not working so host called an HVAC technician who arrived 4 hours later and fixed a broken part. Great, now maybe we can get some air? Yes and no. The thermostat reflected that the inside temp was 75. Cooled the place down to freezing but the thermostat still said 75. Only way to turn off the A/C was to increase the setting to above 75 so that room temp air blew out. Contacted the host who did not respond. The refrigerator was missing 3 shelves and one of the drawers was broken. The freezer was full of ice which had partially thawed and refrozen creating an unusable ice dispenser. The microwave was missing the glass plate turntable. Screens were missing off all the upstairs windows which we wanted to open to try to cool the place down. Remove on main den TV would not connect the the Xfinity box. Worked, just wouldn't operate the box (not a battery issue). Downstairs TV did not have a cable box with it. Gas fireplace would not operate. The list goes on and on and I feel sorry for the next renter if the weather is cold. They will have a grand time trying to regulate the inside temperature. I will say the Weber grill is the nicest grill I've ever used at a VRBO property. And the location to Townsend is very, very convenient.

We had a great few days at the Blue Door Cabin. Anthony, the host is very responsive to questions. House was very clean and comfy. Enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub.

Loved the location, easy parking, and the cleanliness of the cabin. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We had a few questions when we first arrived and was very pleased with the quick response from the host.

Excellent on cleaness! Batteries dead and no replacement for remote on fireplace. Had to manual lite and would stay on for about 3 minutes and turn off. I did let Anthony know. But i highly recommend!

The cabin was perfect for a family getaway for all ages in our party. It was centrally located to everything we had scheduled and good restaurants. The place was super clean as well! Would definitely stay here again!

We love the Painted Door cabins! This is our second time staying at one of them (first one was the green door). The location is perfect -- so close to the park. And the hot tub was a real treat after a long hike in the park.Our only suggestion is about the thermostat. Maybe clearer directions about how to adjust? It was VERY cold in the cabin when we arrived -- uncomfortably cold -- and it took several hours for the cabin to warm up to a comfortable temperature. But overall a wonderful place to stay! We will be back!

Everything about the property was just wonderful and just as stated. It was very easy to find and very convenient.I think our favorite thing was the big wrap around porch. I hope it will be available next year for the Dancing Bear Bike Bash!

We love this cabin! We have stayed here 4 years in a row and enjoy the quietness of the area plus how close it is to many attractions.

Great cabin! This is our second time here and we love it!

We booked for our annual Maryville College best-friends-since-1985 girls’ trip, and the Blue Door Cabin was perfect! The location was so convenient to everything yet felt like we were deep in the woods. We even saw a large bear walk by soon after we arrived! Such a treat! The kitchen was well equipped for cooking dinner, brunch, and snacks, and we enjoyed sitting out on the screened in porch as we dined and visited with each other. The host had left very detailed instructions about everything, so check in/out, WiFi connections, TVs, etc, was very simple. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean. We brought firewood for the firepit and bathing suits for the hot tub, but the cabin was so cozy, we never even ventured out. We had planned to go out for dinner one night, but we were having so much fun there, we decided to just stay in. I highly recommend this peaceful side of the Smokies—and specifically the Blue Door Cabin—for your next family or friend vacation. I hope to be back very soon.

A wonderful cabin that fits a big family. Amazing location. We loved the outdoor swing bed in the screen in porch and the firepit.One point of improvement: there was not enough cutlery, plates, bowls, chairs for everyone. We were 7 people and the cabin is a sleep 8-10.

Our large family rented the Blue Door Cabin as well as the Yellow and Green Door Cabins for a family vacation. They were perfect for our large family with 5 kids under 4! The porch on the Blue Door Cabin is the star of the show with lots of seating areas and a large screened in porch. We loved our stay!

The Blue Door Cabin provided space for our family to enjoy each other's company. We were able to gather for family meals, fun activities, and have some quiet time. We liked spending time on the porch. It was a very enjoyable stay.

Loved the property. Perfect for us, except for neighbors dog that barked continually. Could not sit on porch and enjoy the quietness. Other than that, the property was very nice.

Everything was well kept and clean, property was easy to get to in Townsend right off of the main parkway through town, but still felt private. Situated within a short drive to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg and Cades Cove, it is a great place to stay for a weekend or extended vacation in the Smokies. Absolute gem!

Wonderful! Our favorite cabin!

We enjoyed our time in this cabin and loved the outdoor spaces to relax and play games and visit with one another. It was also very close to hiking and biking trails!

Who needs room inside when you have the coziness of the outdoor space. Tons of comfy seating outside with a screened in porch. It rained while we were there and there was nothing better than lounging outside on the screen porch listening to the rain. While we really enjoyed the outside space the indoor space was clean and more than comfortable. Really quiet, really peaceful. The small city of Townsend is quaint and perfect if you want to stay in the Smokeys but away from the commercialized area of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Would stay here again.

Wonderful property, easy to get to, relaxing and very restful

Very nice cabin, had all of the features we were looking for. Plenty of room with 3 bedrooms plus the downstairs was akin to an entire suite all by itself. My only negative was no laundry supplies so left some for future visitors. Would definitely book again.

The team I worked with to get the property were absolutely fantastic and accomadating. The house was fabulous and was perfect for the entire family.

This cabin is perfect!! Such a great location close to town but far enough away to have privacy. The hot tub was absolutely wonderful while it was snowing. The cabin had everything we needed and several extra touches…very nice!!

Great location spacious outdoor areas, wrap around porch with hot tub, large firepit area with plenty of seating. Bedrooms & bathrooms were adequately described with cleans linens. Kitchen needed some measuring cups & spoons; upgrade on dishwasher & fridge would make it nicer, but they worked. We enjoyed the peace & quite in the wooded area just off the mail highway. Great time with family! We would recommend it to travelers coming into the area.

We had a great time. The cabin was the perfect size and arrangement for our group. We had trouble getting the fireplace started and I messaged the owner and he called house phone immediately. We all got a kick out of the house phone too….kids had never seen one. Lol. My friend spent some time on the deck on the bed swing and loved it.

My famiily spent Thanksgiving at the Blue Door Cabin. It was perfect for my family of 6. Plenty of room for family members to spread out or to be together. Cozy room downstairs for movie watching or video game playing. The grandchildren especially enjoyed the hot tub. Would definitely rebook for another few days of togetherness. Anthony was very resposive with any questions - a great host.

10/10 recommend! This cabin is perfect for family vacations, lots of room to spread out and the hot tub was perfect after a crazy long wedding weekend! The beds were very comfortable and clean and we loved the bed swing. Can’t wait to come back and enjoy Townsend again!

All three of the couples that stayed there loved the location and the cabin. Townsend is the quiet side of the Smokies, but it’s perfectly located to Gatlinburg, Seiverville and pigeon Forge. You couldn’t ask for a better location. We would definitely stay there again.

Upon arrival the cabin is in a nice woods setting. It’s close to town but far enough away that it was quiet and cozy. The cabin had a great feel to it and felt like home compared to the commercialized cabins in Gatlinburg or the bigger town. The inside was extremely clean and comfortable, had plenty of space and just felt “homie”. Great cabin and hope it’s available on our next trip.

Our stay at the Blue Door was Great! Host was very accommodating, even after plans changed because of Hurrican Helene. We stay here at least once a year and love the peace and quiet and being close to everything in Townsend!

Overall the cabin was ok. We were able to enjoy our time. It could have been better had we been aware of a few things. There were several rocky, uneven, stairs to walk down to get into the cabin which was hard on my elderly sisters. I thought by the photos there was no steps. All of the outside furniture was extremely dirty, dusty, and had long hair in many places on the cushions. All of the outside porch area needed a deep cleaning - lots of dust and cobwebs - we did not feel comfortable using the outside seating. Too bad as there was lots of chairs, swings, rockers, etc. Apparently some type of construction across the street that blew dust towards us so bad we had to run inside the house. The inside was clean - but all the blinds were very dusty and windows were so dirty it was hard to see out of the windows on the back side of the house. Other than that the interior of the house was clean. The lawn crew came at 8:30 Saturday morning. Even used their very loud, gas powered blower and literally walked up on and all around on the porch of the house - at 8:30am!! Honestly would not rent this one again. It just was not a good fit for us.

My wife and I enjoyed a very relaxed week here. The cabin was clean and well maintained. Communication with the owner was prompt. Everything was as presented on the web site. While it was just the 2 of us and we didn't take advantage of things like the hot tub or fire pit the cabin would be a great place for a large or multiple families with a lot of activities available. We chose it for it's peaceful location and easy accessibility to the peaceful side of the Smokies. We had a great time and would love to come back again.

The cabin is in a great location close to town but far enough away to have privacy. It had everything we needed with several special touches like liquid hand soap in all the bathrooms and nice quality toilet paper!! The hot tub was awesome and the outdoor lighting was beautiful!! We will be back!!
