Whiskey Hills is a newly remodeled luxury log cabin perched at the top of the mountain - with Blue Ridge views guests rave about and the kind of front-porch mornings that make a mountain trip feel like a real escape.

Stargazing under impossibly clear skies. Morning coffee with the mountains laid out in front of you. Four seasons of beauty, from spring wildflowers through fall color through winter snow. We've fallen in love with this cabin and the area, and we think you will too.
>What makes Whiskey Hills different:

Top-of-the-mountain Blue Ridge views - review after review mentions them, and they live up to it. 35 minutes to Asheville - for breweries, food, music, and the fastest-growing arts scene in the South, but there's so much even closer than that.

Hiker's basecamp with big views - a short drive to the Appalachian Trail at Sams Gap, plus beautiful walking right out your door in the mountain neighborhood
Brand new hot tub on the lower deck, perfect for soaking in the views

Newly remodeled top to bottom - new appliances, fresh paint, refinished floors, all new lighting and fixtures, all new high-end furniture

Sleep quality you'll remember - three guests have left here and bought the same Parachute mattresses and bedding we have. Honestly, no better compliment.

Dog friendly (up to 2 dogs, under 50 lbs each, no aggressive breeds)
4 parking spaces right outside the front door

4 bedrooms • 3.5 baths • Sleeps 10:

Bedroom 1 (primary): King plus ensuite bath
Bedroom 2 (upstairs): King plus desk area, with bath next door
Bedroom 3: Two full beds plus 55 smart TV, shares a bath with Bedroom 2
Bedroom 4 (downstairs): King plus private bath next door (not shared)
Plus a half bath and mudroom by the front entrance

Spring, summer, and fall in the Blue Ridge:
These are honestly our favorite seasons here.
Spring brings wildflowers and cool mountain mornings.
Summer is for hiking, mountain biking, swimming holes, and long evenings on the deck.
Fall is the leaf season - and you're at the top of the mountain for it.

The Appalachian Trail is just a short drive away - Sams Gap is about 10 minutes - and the mountain neighborhood itself offers beautiful walking right outside your door. Mountain biking trails wind throughout the area.

Asheville is 35 minutes away:
Asheville is one of the fastest-growing arts and food cities in the country. World-class breweries, an incredible restaurant scene, wineries, music venues, and culture. Easy day trip from the cabin, or skip it entirely and stay in the mountains - both are great choices.

For ski season:
We're at the top of the mountain for Hatley Pointe - a boutique ski resort with about 10 weeks of ski season per year. You can walk over and ski down, even stop into the cabin for lunch and head back out. Off-season, the resort still has a beautiful restaurant and bar, with lift-served biking and leaf gazing planned.

The kitchen:
Café appliances throughout, including a double oven — you could host a family holiday here. Fully stocked with everything you need.

The decks:
Huge upper deck with outdoor dining, lounging, and a gas grill. A second deck off the downstairs game room with the new hot tub. Two great outdoor spaces, both with views.

Nearby favorites:
Asheville's renowned breweries and cultural sites — 30 minutes away
Hatley Pointe Resort — restaurant, bar, and ski/bike access just a short drive
Biltmore Estate — a great day trip
Smoke & Timber — dinner with mountain views, 3 miles
Navitat Canopy Adventures — within 30 minutes
Big Bald — a moderate hike, 5 miles, with stunning sunrises
Smokin' Joe Lasher — authentic Southern, worth the scenic drive

The little things:
We stock what most hosts forget — laundry pods, full-size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and plenty of coffee pods. The kind of small touches that make you feel like someone actually thought about your stay.

A note on the road:
We're at the top of a mountain, which means steep mountain roads. Most of the year it's an easy drive in any vehicle. In winter, please be prepared with 4-wheel drive and potentially snow tires or chains. Also remember to grab your groceries before you head up the hill.

Your hosts:
We're Distilled Destinations - a small, family-run collection of upscale homes in places we love to visit. We have properties in Orange Beach, Steamboat Springs, Gruene TX, and Mars Hill NC. We're just a message away during your stay, and we take pride in stocking these homes like we'd want our own family to find them.
Come see why Whiskey Hills guests come back.

While our stay was brief and we didn’t have enough time to utilize all the accommodations available to us we still enjoyed the spacious kitchen and living room. Beds were really comfortable, great water pressure. We appreciated all the entertainment options on the TV. The thermostat was a bit finicky but we figured it out. Would recommend this property to friends and family.

We loved our stay mid October and the gorgeous fall colors. My boys enjoyed each having an entire floor to themselves too! The kitchen is well stocked and has ample dinnerware, glasses & utensils. We cooked several meals as the ski resort was closed for the season. The nearest restaurants are 20-30 minutes away - that was really the only drawback to the location in off ski season. The Ingles Grocery in Mars Hill is huge & has everything you could possibly need for food & drinks. We enjoyed the hot tub & walking to top of mountain at night to stargaze - we saw the Milky Way bands! We drove to Hot Springs & hiked a section of the Appalachian Trail, spent a day at Biltmore Estate and a day in Asheville. The LaZoom history/comedy bus tour was a ton on fun. Sandy is an excellent host & paid attention to so many details that make this cabin unique. We would definitely stay here again during ski season or one of her other properties.

Very nice place and very clean. The beds slept great very comfortable. Went with a couple of 3. Enough room n could've hd another couple. Downstairs game room is a bonus. Only thing i can say that's nt bd bt i think it's much needed is 2 rooms hd no tv in there. Which the downstairs room off from the gameroom has the big tv in there bt no tv in room other than that I'll gve it a 8.5. Also it's stock with everything u need. Great place would stay again

Well stocked for our family of 5. Good spaces for teenagers to hang out. Beds were comfortable. Host was easy to work with. Would suggest to anyone coming in that you hit the grocery store before you go to the house just because it’s a little drive to the store.
