Do it. Book this property. It’s better than you’re imagining. We can not wait to return!!
Everything was wonderful. The view was expansive and spectacular. The kitchen was well stocked. Corine was extremely responsive and helpful.
What a beautiful property this is. The owners have done a marvelous job outfitting the place with all of the comforts of home, including higher quality items. It is definitely a country house, so it’s on the rustic side in ways, but with this place it’s not about the house. When you see that view all the way to Mt Greylock in the morning your eyes won’t be anywhere but out the big windows. And there are 100 acres of pasture and forest for kids, dogs, and adults to explore. If you’re looking for that opportunity to get away from everything, look no further.
This is a lovely property with many special touches, set in a beautiful, quiet, peaceful place. A truly wonderful getaway.
We loved the cabin. So authentic and unique. Peaceful solitude at its best.
Great way to unplug and enjoy the beauty of the mountains.
Location is remote and peaceful, yet conveniently close enough to town. View is terrific. It's clear much thought has been put into the set-up, as basically everything we needed in the house was right there and easy to find.
This was by far our favorite rental ever. The space is so gracious, comfortable, and warm. The energy here is spectacular and has some Jung special that is difficult to put into words. The view never gets old. The beds are fabulous. Soaking tubs inside and out. Cool breeze. Big sky. The plants and wildlife glorious. We spent hours and hours just walking the property with our dog and 8 year old. Very close to Bennington and other spots. I’m honestly ar a loss for words. The place is really special. Very clean and well appointed. Wonderful hosts and cleaner. Can’t wait to go back. Book it!
Words can't begin to describe the view from this beautifully crafted, lovingly decorated and cozy cabin. Nature truly envelops you at this piece of heaven - from the birds that raced us up the 1/4 mile dirt driveway, the croak of the bull frogs from the small pond beyond the field, the crickets that jump before your every step, to the deer that can be seen early in the morning snacking on the wild blueberries, this is a place to experience a break from the hustle and bustle of life and just be. The beauty continues inside the cabin, where the woodwork and decor bring the beauty of the outdoors inside. The kichen was fully stocked, with a lovely assortment of spices, condiments, tea, coffee, and even several types of coffee makers for coffee lovers such as myself. The communication from the hosts was beyond expectations. Corine reached out several times before our stay, sharing an abundance of information on the cabin itself as well as the surrounding area. Recent improvements to the property include a relaxing outdoor tub/shower which was the perfect way to end the day of exploring the property and local area. The mattresses were the most comfortable we've slept in while away from home. The days were beautiful, with views of mountain ranges encompassing 3 states We barely left the property to explore the quaint town. The Apple Barn is highly recommended! Thank you to Corine and Joe for sharing this piece of heaven with us.
Perfection!! The sanctuary that greeting us nestled amongst the vast fields and forests was astounding!! The cabin was so exquisitely decorated and the outdoor bath is a MUST! We cannot wait to return!! Corine and Joe are the best hosts EVER!! We are eternally grateful to you both!!
Paradise!! Absolute paradise!! The peace and serenity that greeted us was truly magnificent! The cabin is perfection! The views capture all Vermont nature has to offer. Corine was an absolute gem! We are so very grateful to you and Joe for creating and allowing us to experience this Vermont marvel!!
I’ll be short and sweet, book this place. You’ll only regret not being able to stay longer. The property is perfection and the host is so accommodating. My family felt nothing but entirely welcome here!
We absolutely loved our time here and are already planning a return trip! The land is absolutely breath taking, and the house is so cozy and was clearly decorated with so much care and love. The owner was also so kind and helpful! We highly recommend this rental.
Lovely location. Lovely house. But the driveway was iced over and not shoveled nor salted when we arrived. I took too steps out of the car and even though I had on snow boots slid straight to the ground hurting my hip.
We loved our stay. Host was super accommodating. We ended up staying longer because it was so peaceful and beautiful there. We highly recommend this rental.
We enjoyed our stay. The property was clean, and the views were beautiful. Communication was very easy with the owner. Would recommend.
Where do we even begin to describe how relaxing (and breathtaking) our stay was at Big Sky? I would say the best part of our stay was just how peaceful and quiet it was when we sat out on the deck with a hot cup of tea enjoying the view and wildlife. The weather was warm during the daytime and cool at night, which was perfect for hiking on the property, visiting Battle Monument, walking the grounds at the Robert Frost Stone House, and visiting Old First. With so much history in New England, having all of this within a 15-20 minute drive was a perk. From day one through check-out, and even after, our experience was probably one of the most pleasant we have had in a getaway. We felt grounded and recharged by the time we left and certainly plan to visit again. A sincere thank you to Corine and Joe for such a lovely stay.
A fabulous experience, from booking to check-out and beyond. The cabin and the property, with the views, the air, and the sky... Everything and more than expected. Excellent communication, help, and flexibility from the hosts. Great amenities to help you feel at home yet such unique touches that you know you are somewhere special. Even with the peaceful isolation, you are never too far away - great selection of stores, restaurants, etc all within a short drive... If you want the best experience in southern Vermont, stop looking, book now, and start gazing at the big sky, full of stars...
The property has stunning views from sunrise to sunset. The cabin is beautifully decorated and cozy. The perfect weekend escape!
Firstly, that view! We stood on the deck each morning and watched the mist floating off the hills. The pictures don't do it justice. The cabin was a welcome refuge of space, quiet, and tranquility that was just a four-hour drive from the blaring car horns of NYC. The cabin was beautifully rustic while still providing every amenity. Do yourselves a favor and take a bath in the upstairs tub - trust me. Plenty to do but also a great place to do nothing and just reflect in nature.
I had an unforgettable experience at the Big Sky Cabin. We were all stunned upon arrival by the natural beauty and vast space to ourselves. Coming from NYC, the quiet and clarity on the property was hypnotic. We spent the weekend recharging in the sun; exploring the property, relaxing in different nooks of the cabin and enjoying the cabin's and land's amazing views. We got tons of groceries from some markets down the hill. The kitchen was fully stocked, four of us were cooking at once and all had space to do so. Oh, and the dishwasher was massive, a big relief. One night, while preparing the outdoor firepit, we looked up and caught the star show of a lifetime. No moon or clouds in sight, we sat for hours. We also swam in the Dorset quarry and BBQd/rented paddle boards at the nearby Lake Shaftsbury. Both were lovely experiences, although I could have just lounged around the cabin all weekend. I wouldn’t have thought I’d witness such natural beauty, much less live there. The shock still hasn’t worn off.
