Amery, Wisconsin
Inviting 2 bedroom lake cabin offers the entertainment & relaxation of lakefront living with all the comforts of home! Soak in the beautiful panoramic lake views from inside the cabin or the cozy screened porch. Newly remodeled, open concept space in a quiet bay featuring WiFi, A/C, fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer & wood burning fireplace. Enjoy boating, fishing, kayaking & relaxing by the water. Great in the winter for ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing & snowshoeing. Easy access to snowmobile trail from driveway, and then quick access to lake from trail. The trail runs right out in front of our property.
Notes: Our cabin is tucked into the woods, nestled on a hillside, which offers a cozy, private feel and amazing views of Bear Trap Lake. Please make note of the stairs in the listing photos that allow you to access the canin from the driveway/parking area; as well as, the stairs leading from the cabin down to the lakeside. Dock/Lift are put it after ice-off, usually sometime in April and they are removed mid-October.
This cabin is an absolute A place to stay. The pictures do not do it justice. Excellent condition. Newer kitchen cabinets and appliances. Modern bathroom. Very comfortable beds. Big picture windows overlooking the lake made it feel like we were part of nature. Smartly decorated throughout with peaceful up North feeling. Furnace works quick and well. Great fireplace burned wood perfectly. Nice loft area in which to sleep in addition to the two bedrooms. Awesome views of the lake. Sandy bottom and nice pier from which to swim or boat. The communication and instructions from the owner were excellent and accommodating. Safe and private location which cannot be seen from the road. We had nothing negative about our experience with the property or the owner; it was all positive for us. The only caution for others is that there are quite a few stairs to get from parking area to cabin (we enjoyed the exercise it gave us); there possibly is a tram that could be used.
Yes, the title says Beautiful Views, but we were still pretty struck (in a positive way) by the view of the lake from the two large (6' x 9'?) windows from the main room. So, I'm just confirming that the views were indeed beautiful. And, yes, it's a quiet area of the combined Bear Trap and Wapogassett lakes. I had a few questions early on, and the owners were responsive. Also, as you can see in the pictures, this is a very up-to-date home with recent remodeling. There is a problem with getting cold water to come out of the kitchen sink at more than a dribble for longer than it takes the hot water to catch up. The owner showed a way to finesse the faucet handle to get more pressure by shifting the handle towards the hot side, but the temperature would go to mostly hot even with that trick if we had tested it for a longer time - like maybe within 30-45 seconds perhaps. This mattered because we were trying to rinse fresh fruit and did not want to use hot water on the fruit. The owner and I agreed that this was related to a water filter on only the cold line, and I believe them that the filter itself had been recently changed. But, I think someone with more plumbing knowledge than either of us might need to take a look at what's going on there. Regardless of the kitchen cold water situation, I was very happy with both the home and the responsiveness of the owners. My family were very happy with this place.
Exactly what we were looking for! Quiet, lots of wildlife, clean & modern yet quaint cabin.
The cabin was exactly as I had expected and was in a good location for all the activities planned. It is close enough to Amery for food, gas and dining, and a short drive from activities like skiing at Trollhaugen, the casino in Turtle Lake, and dining/shopping/site seeing in Stillwater. For winter, the cabin is a perfect size for 3-4 adults and has great views of the frozen lake. The kitchen was well stocked with all appliances and utensils, and the bathroom had a large walk in shower with a heated floor (a winter must!). Since the cabin is on a hillside over the lake, the walkway up and down to the cabin with the snow and ice was a worry, but the owners did a good job of shoveling the recent snowfall and leaving salt to keep ice from accumulating. Definitely will consider this cabin for a summer or another winter visit.
This was very nice & clean. Gorgeous view of the lake
Perfect getaway for my family of four just a little over an hour outside twin cities. Great windows for perfect view. Loved the commons spaces such as main family room, kitchen, and porch. The lift to the parking area was extremely helpful, as cabin is built into the hillside. The little loft space was a fun adder for my little boys. Would definitely come back.
Easy booking, beautiful location on the lake. Loved the tram - made moving in/out simple! Enjoyed our stay!!
We enjoyed our week at this cabin. The cabin was clean and nicely upgraded. There are lots of water toys and other extras that made entertaining the kids easy. Our kids enjoyed the swimming raft and lily pad. The stairs to get to the cabin and down to the lake would not be for everyone, but worked just fine for us. About the only thing that could have been better was a bit cleaner lake shore, but after growing up on this lake I know that maintaining the shore on this lake is a daily task (particularly in the bay where this cabin is located). All in all, a really fun and enjoyable time. Thank you!
