Bunk beds were very uncomfortable, had to purchase air mattresses to sleep on. The bottom floor was very musty smelling and I couldn’t enjoy the bottom floor because of the severe mustiness. It also triggered my daughter’s asthma. Too much clutter-needs to be redecorated in some areas. I ended up with glass in my foot from the kitchen floor. No hot tub even though it says hot tub. I did ask the owner a few days prior to arrival about the hot tub and was told no there isn’t but there is a large soaking tub in master bedroom. That is not the same as a hot tub. Master bedroom furniture is in need of repair as well. And pillows for the master bedroom were flat.
This is following a full three stay. Pluses: Excellent location on paved road all the way. Easy level parking with easy turn around Easy access with lock box. Beautiful wide double decks from two floors entire length of building with three walk out doors on main level Lots of game equipment in basement Lovely hardwood floors Good appliances with great ice maker in the fridge. Very comfortable beds Excellent well water with a great taste. Good bathrooms. Lots of TV's Great host Excellent A/C. Negatives: Living room furniture very so so Internet very weak - could not sustain streaming. Because of the location in the forest and the roof overhangs, dark in the mornings until about 10 am.
We had a wonderful stay. This is our second time staying here and we love it. It is always well keep and clean. We never have any problems. It is a beautiful place
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin! Very clean, comfortable beds, spacious, lots of cooking utensils, and I loved sitting on the back porch hearing the birds and the creek below. Just wish there was a table on the porch for a cup or plate of food. It was very conveniently located near the town of Murphy. Thank you!
Wonderful place. We'll definitely be back
The cabin was very well kept, cozy and wonderful. My family and I had a great time and Michelle is amazing and super, super attentive and quick to reply to any questions we had while we were there.
Our first time in the mountains & a lovely cabin! We had a great time!
Great location, beautiful cabin great area and the owner could not had been any more helpful. Answered back fast and very reliable, I will definitely be back
We came up from Florida to visit family and for our grandkids to see snow for the first time. We had a wonderful stay and everything was perfect. Will definitely stop again. The host was very helpful with everything.
We spent a week here and overall enjoyed our stay. I made the mistake of thinking the house would be big enough for our crew with 4 older kids, but it was a tight fit, especially working in the kitchen. But that was my misjudgment. The house itself is nice and clean with a finished basement that contains the pool table and other games. There's no bathroom down there and narrow, steep stairs to get up and down. The upper deck was nice, with some rockers that we really enjoyed. And we used the fire pit a few times. The charcoal grill is tiny, so don't rely on using that for a large group. The bunk room had an old, front-heavy TV--I'd be crazy nervous about that if my kids were younger. Even with them being older (age 10 and up), I warned them to be super careful because the TV is front heavy. They're tech savvy but couldn't get the Xbox to work with that TV. The satellite had some XXX rated material on it that I was worried my kids might stumble across, but not much for families. The Wi-Fi exists, but couldn't support my techy kids with all they do online. My husband and I gave up on the Wi-Fi entirely and just used our cell signal, which also wasn't great. My kids couldn't get the jetted tub to work--I didn't take time to try myself, so I'm not sure if it's because the jets are disabled or if they missed a step to turn it on. On the bright side, the water pressure was great (a problem I've read about at other houses), access to town was convenient, the neighborhood was quiet, the little stream in the back was bubbly and pretty, and the owner was quick to respond to my messages, even months before my trip. We had fun finding some hiking spots (definitely check out Fires Creek), and we ate at the Murphy square a couple of times. Don't bother going to eat in the middle of the week, though--we tried four different restaurants before we found one that was open on a Wednesday at about 2 pm. My favorite part about the cabin--the king mattress in the main bedroom is super comfortable. I usually have a hard time sleeping away from home, but this time I went right to sleep each night and slept late every morning. Overall, we had a restful week, which was our goal.
