3. Wifi Yes. Cable TV Yes! WiFi has speeds typically above 200 Mbps/sec (better and more reliable than many cabins). Tap the Home button on the remote, choose YoutubeTV then Live at top right for live TV or any of the other 85 channels or sign in to your subscription apps on the 55 Smart TV. Power and service outages are rare but do occur - no refunds due to interruption of service.

4. Does the cabin supply baby gear No, baby gear is not located on-site. The cabin is not baby-proofed. There are rental gear agencies in the area.

5. We follow the VRBO cancellation/refund policy, no exceptions. We recommend that guests purchase trip insurance in case of unforeseen circumstances.

6. How far is your cabin to the grocery Dollar General - 4.3 miles, Kroger - 11.7 miles. There are also multiple grocery delivery services (and food delivery too) that can deliver to the cabin.

7. What are the roads like to the cabin Closer to Heaven is located on a fully paved, single-lane, two-way neighborhood loop road located off a major road. It has several other cabins on it, but is not heavily traveled. It has some steep areas, but nothing that slow speed and alertness won't conquer, but it's not for everybody - some folks may find it intimidating. Most say once they have driven it a couple of times, it is just fine. It is, after all, Closer to Heaven! For the majority of the year, cars have no trouble with the roads; sporadically, in some winter weather, all-wheel drive vehicles WILL be required - the road is treated and plowed when necessary during winter weather. Checking the weather is necessary in the winter months. Please plan accordingly and watch the weather, especially in the winter months.

8. Wildlife, what could I see while at your cabin The cabin is located in the mountains where black bears and other wildlife are common, even around the cabin. They are a treat to observe and will typically keep their distance from humans. Bears must not be approached or fed - for your and their health and safety.

9. Pests or Bugs This is a cabin in the mountains and is treated monthly for pests but despite all efforts, they still find their way in, especially if doors are left open and especially at night with lights on. These include stinkbugs, ladybugs, occasional millipedes, etc. No refunds will be given due to pests - keep doors and windows closed as much as possible to prevent their access.

10. Pets; Yes, pets are allowed at the cabin! Maximum of two well-behaved pets. If your pet is completely house-trained (never has accidents inside) and would not be a loud (barking) guest, then your pet is welcome. If your pet occasionally has accidents inside, we ask that you please seek alternate accommodations to prevent the loss of deposits. Pets must be crated if left alone and are not allowed on furniture (bring your own crate). There is a $75 fee per pet to be paid at the time of reservation.

11. Reservations are complete and confirmed once the rental agreement is signed and returned.

12. Smoking This is a no-smoking (of any kind) property.

13. How many does the hot tub seat It seats 4 comfortably.

14. Can I check in early before 4pm or check out late after 10am We cannot accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs. Our cleaning crew works hard and needs the full amount of time to be sure that the cabin is ready for you and others. A late checkout fee of $100 will be added if you and your guests have not departed by 10am. Thank you for your understanding.

15. How many cars can park at the property 3 regular-sized cars / SUVs can fit in the driveway end-to-end. The driveway has a large hump at the street. Just take a look as you enter, take it slow, and you'll be good! It can be intimidating the first time, but most folks acclimate just fine! There's a sign on the street that says Closer to Heaven - you've arrived!! At night, a motion-activated floodlight will come on as you enter the driveway. The road is a loop road, so no need to turn around. You can either back in from one side or pull in from the other side.

16. Is the cabin secluded Yes and no - the neighbors aren't very close - you may hear laughter or murmuring of conversations, and the occasional car may pass on the street. It's generally very quiet and peaceful. You can see a few rooftops of cabins, but you feel like you have your privacy and space. At night, you feel like you're miles from civilization - no lights or sounds from nearby towns or roads. But at the same time, you are only minutes from so many stores, restaurants, and attractions - best of both worlds!

17. As much as we would love for you to find everything in the cabin to be just as you see it in the photos, we realize that things occasionally need repair over time. No refunds are given for amenities that are different from those shown/listed.

18. Is there a grill There is a propane gas grill with a burner eye as well as a large charcoal grill like you see in a park (BYO charcoal).

19. It’s a wood-burning fireplace. Where do I get wood Wood is not provided. You may bring your own, or Dollar General is 4.7 miles, most gas stations or groceries, and there are a couple of 24-hr vendors on Wears Valley road nearby, you’ll see on your drive in.

20. There is also a security deposit hold on your credit card for $500 for property damage.

21. Please note that there is a security camera on site at the driveway.

22. We provide access via our Membership to the amenities at the nearby Honeysuckle RV Park, which you'll pass on your way to the cabin as you turn off of Wears Valley Rd (Hwy 321), just 5 minutes from the cabin. There you will have access to: a beautiful, large outdoor seasonal swimming pool, kiddie pool, picnic tables, lots of lounge chairs, covered dining area, fishing pond, and the seasonal full-service deli & grill with fantastic food!

Enjoy the view!! We hope you enjoy Closer to Heaven just as much as we do!

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was the perfect size for my husband and I, our two teenagers, and two dogs. The kitchen was stocked with high quality cookware and cutlery. The appliances were updated and everything we needed was on site. We loved the little touches from the cleaning crew included the folded towel design and teddy bear sitting upside down on the bed in the primary suite. The views were stunning, the area was peaceful, the hot tub was delightful, and Heavenly Roasters has become our go-to coffee spot when we visit. We will definitely be back at Closer to Heaven.

The cabin has everything you need to cook inside/outside. Although we didn’t have to communicate with the host much, when we did he was very fast in responding and took care of anything right away. Loved the cabin, was exactly how the listing was portrayed with excellent views to enjoy while rocking on the deck with a cup of coffee. Our 4 yr old daughter looooved the “Mountain House”. Really appreciated that it was dog friendly, so our GSD could join us. The little intersection right down the mountain with Coffee and the General store was a perk, hand pies there were great!! The close proximity to Townsend which was super chill was perfect, but we could also easily swing up to Pigeon Forge for a mountain coaster or Gatlinburg to visit Anakeesta no problem. Loved being out in the mountains for the day and then being able to come back to this cozy cabin. Thanks for the memories! PLUS we got to see a bear driving down the hill in the neighborhood!

Hot tub was great! Access to communal pool was a nice bonus.Cons: cabin was not ready at 4:00 (cleaners still there at 4:22). Cleaning was rushed…dirty sock in drawer, gravel in dryer, dog hair in the loft bed, and donuts left in the oven.

We were pleased with the cleanliness and quiet location. Enjoyed the views from the deck and the hot tub. Also enjoyed reading in the loft area looking out over the mountain range. The driveway was steep as is the road leading to the house - one of us was too cowardly to drive the run. Saw a bear on one steep walk with dog; once the bear realized we were not a threat, it walked away. Phew.

Overall, we loved the cabin and would be back. The view was amazing, although the drive up the hill was understated in the description. We had no issues, but would suggest a 4x4 if it's winter, or at least a decently powerful vehicle. The photo below isn't the steepest point. The appliances were great and worked as described. The internet was fast and reliable. The hot tub was a little older, but functional. The only complaint we have was the number of cobwebs throughout the cabin in easily accessible locations to be reached such as next to the bed, behind bathroom doors, etc. Outside of that we had a great stay, communication was clear and accurate from the host.

The view is beautiful, the road is fine once you drive it once in the daylight, and the location is very convenient - close to Pigeon Forge but still nice and secluded, even closer to the Elkmont GSMNP entrance (Cade’s Cove), and (a nice surprise) the “secret” Little Greenbrier entrance is basically 10 minutes away! This cabin is beautiful, it has just enough space to live comfortably. Everything is very clean. I was so happy to see that they actually left coffee filters and salt and pepper and oil in the kitchen, those things are such a haste to remember when packing everything and usually we have to make a late night dash to get that before our first moonwalking up in a place. Rob was super communicative and welcoming during our stay! We loved the little reading nook and the cozy vibes of the cabin! We used the grill for dinner and it was great! I will say we used the hot tub and it kept flipping the breaker so we kept having to reset it. It happened every 15-20 mins while running the jets. It was a bummer because it was what we were looking forward to most on our trip! Overall would stay again, very cozy cabin!

The previous guest at this cabin somehow tripped two circuit breakers rendering the internet and TV inop upon our arrival. Rob Foss, owner/ manager, responded immediately and got things back up and running within the hour dealing directly with Comcast during multiple calls ( not the easiest bunch in my experience) and made it a seamless experienceThe cabin itself is cozy and well maintained. Well located for hiking the Park. We rented the cabin largely due to its having a wood burning fireplace, just the thing to warm up after brisk hikes. Bottom line: We would happily rent from Rob again. Don McCormick

My husband and I stayed here with our two boys (6,9) and our two dogs. It was very clean and accommodating. The owners were extremely responsive and helpful with any questions/concerns that we had. I highly recommend this cabin. It is very cozy and the views are breathtaking. I especially loved the little nook where I could drink my coffee in the morning while looking out over the mountains!

What a wonderful place to get away during the holidays! The cabin is gorgeous, with a beautiful view and has loads of privacy without being isolated. My husband, teenage son, and mini golden doodle all had plenty of room while also spending some great quality time together. The proximity to pigeon forge, gatlinburg, and the smoky mountains national park made it possible to choose a new adventure every day. Would love to stay here again!

We were looking for a quiet long weekend trip in the mountains that allowed our doggie. Closer to Heaven was so refreshing and peaceful along with gorgeous views. The cabin had everything guests would need and more! We were disappointed we didn’t see any bears!!!! Rob and Tiffany could not have been better hosts!

We saw bear on 3 occasions which was a big plus for us! Roads are steep and narrow if you have a large vehicle it can be a little fun. This is my favorite area of the world
