Very quiet and in an excellent location. If issues with the water were fixed, it would be the perfect place. Will definitely rent again.
Generally a fine place, BUT 1. Leach field leaking continually at parking. 2. Water pulsated every time it was turned on. 3. The steps at the back deck ARE DANGEROUS. 4. The electrical system (lighting) has issues. Otherwise, it was a pleasant place to stay.
Nice peaceful stay. Deer running everywhere. Sunrises were incredible
Contact with the host was easy, clear, and direct, and the property is right off the highway but feels like the middle of the country. The cabin was cute, comfy well-heated at need and nicely arranged, with a big front porch for a nice view across the valley as well as a nice sized back porch. Beds and seating were good, everything nice and clean, though starting to get worn. The only real downside is the water- it splutters and spurts and is white. You can take showers and do dishes but should bring your own drinking water. The shared bathroom shower light was out (BTW, we loved having the heat fan in there!), as well as some nightlights, but there is wonderful natural light during the day from the beautiful picture windows.
So quiet. Pines all around. Excellent scenery
Beautiful home! Clean and very spacious! Only downfall was no AC.
Property was clean and exactly as listed. The only suggestion I have is to have a property info sheet (where are things on the property) and a departure checklist.
Very nice property, 10-15mins from Chama. Enough room to very comfortably for 5 people. Was a little hot inside at night (late July).
Cabin was wonderful! Plenty of space. Very clean. The hosts were available to ask questions through the site and called me prior to ensure i had no questions. Beds were very comfortable. We had plenty of bedding, towels, etc. Kitchen fully equiped to make any meal. View from front and back patio was amazing and we drank coffee there in the morning and snacks in the afternoon. Bathrooms good size but water pressure was strange and spit out the water as if air was in the lines the entire shower- guest bath more than master. Not really a problem and you could bathe fine, but scared my children so bathtime was a struggle. This was the only thing that wasnt perfect. I would stay again and hope its available again when i visit family next year!
Nice clean cabin. Out of town and quite.
Everything was great, but the water. It smelled very bad, and the flow was not good when taking a shower or washing dishes. Enjoyed the stay, and the view.
Great place for our group of hunters. Host was very hospitable and kind hearted. The heating went out right when we arrived but our host gave us wood for the wood stove and we stayed plenty warm. We enjoyed our stay!
This is a sweet cabin in a quiet area. Our stay was nice and cozy. However, there are a few things to know if you are going to stay here. The heating system was out when we went but we were given space heaters and there is a beautiful wood burning stove so we were plenty warm. Also, November is fly season and there were dozens of flies (both alive and dead) on the living room and laundry room floor at all times. They were easily vacuumed up but be prepared. This property is on well water so the water pressure is funky, the water is super hard and it smells of sulfer. This too is totally fine, as long as you know ahead of time. Lastly, the listing says there is satellite t.v., dvd's and VHS tapes. However, when we attempted to put dvd's in the player none of the dvd's were in the correct box and many were missing so make sure to bring your own dvd's with you to watch. The hosts were great and made check-in and check-out very easy! All in all, this was a clean, quiet place with a nice view. I would recommend staying here.
Loved the area and cabin. Decore was beautiful. Just needed more silverware?
My family and I really enjoyed our stay. We were able to see deer outside the cabin. The cabin is very beautiful and spacious! Also love the view it has. There were lots of dead flies and wasps so I think they were sprayed before we arrived, thankfully there was a vacuum and I was able to vacuum them up!
We had a group of guys up in NM elk hunting and this was the perfect place for us. We have stayed here 2 years in a row and will plan to again if we return to that area hunting.
Very nice location, great view from the front deck.
We were very impressed with the property and wish that we could have stayed longer. The house is wonderful as is Gail. She called to check that we were okay one week before the stay and during our stay. I highly recommend this property for your next vacation.
Close to Chama. Excellent view from front deck. Gets a little warm during the day. But, overall good experience.
The place is beautiful but is very dusty for rental place , the well water is rusty and smells. The portable air conditioner has nasty mold water on it and the filter very filthy, we contacted the caregiver and she came in the next day just to said that she didn't know how to fix it. The property have many items that kids are curious about and touch and then we was told that they wasn't supposed to touch....
True to listing details
The property was very easy to find. The house was amazing and the property owner was very polite and informative prior to arrival.
The property was nicely tucked away in the area - close enough to town & access to the main road, but far enough off the beaten path to have a quiet family gathering. No internet meant we had to unplug from the usual screen time so it was a great place for young kids to roam around outside and play loudly with no concern about bothering neighbors. There's plenty of wildlife to watch, so bring binoculars! Don't forget some mosquito repelent due to the nearby pond. The deck was a great place to gaze at the evening stars, however it does need some repair, so be a bit cautious (the reason we gave 4 stars rather than 5). The weather was warming for the summer and there's no AC or swamp cooler, but thanks to the cooler mountain air, opening up the windows was enough to cool the house down throughout the day.
Cabin was very nice and well kept.
