Stayed Jul 19, 2025Everything was as described on VRBO. There were 11 of us and ages ranged from 4 years old to 70 years old.And all of us had a great time! We would highly recommend this property for anyone no matter what the age. The only thought for improvement would be for the swim platform to be out further in deeper water.

Stayed May 24, 2025Our first visit to Province Lake was wonderful. The property had plenty of room for our 3 families to spread out. The house is beautiful and had all we needed. We had fun on the water once the rain cleared. Many fish were caught just off the dock. We saw a beaver, Eagles, Loon, ducks, among many other birds around the property. The game room was a real bonus for the kids. Volleyball and horse shoes had both young & old entertained. I think there were quite a few things we did not get to do so I think we'll have to plan another visit. Thank you Margaret & Stewart.

Stayed Jun 26, 2022My family, friends and I stayed for a week leading up to the 4th of July. Being from the west coast, I had little knowledge of the area other than what I had read. I’ve rented many vacation homes over the past couple of decades and I can say without hesitation that this is the best I’ve ever encountered. Location is unbeatable (not just on the lake, but from what I can tell, the best section of the lake). Amenities are beyond advertised. Everything you could need in a kitchen. What seemed to be 50 beach towels. Beautiful, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Plenty of seating and lounging areas both in the house and on the decks. Seriously, we wanted for absolutely nothing. Outside - It’s one of the best outside areas on the lake. We clearly didn’t see them all, so it’s a biased opinion, but when you add in the fire pit, hammocks, dock (with space for our pontoon boat we rented) floating dock that we anchored down out in the water, 5 Kayaks, two paddle boards, boat towables with all sizes of life jackets. Did I mention that it’s edge to edge sand all the way around the house! I didn’t put my shoes on for 3 days. It was so unbelievably undersold on how well equipped it was to utilize what you’d want to at a lake front house, the lake itself. The hosts - Margaret was informative, friendly and accommodating. Check out directions are informative and direct. No 15 page books here. Just leisure time with the ones you came to enjoy it with. I don’t know when we will be back in NE, but this is #1, 2 and three on the list. Thank you to our hosts for facilitating an unforgettable vacation! We are all supremely grateful. Dane

Stayed Jul 24, 2021Beautiful place with plenty of room for everyone. The location is perfect. Steps to a beautiful lake with plenty of kayaks and floats to enjoy. Gorgeous lake and Mountain View’s. We saw eagles, loons and ducks on a daily basis. We took a day trip in to North Conway for shopping and a bite to eat but really my favorite time was hanging by the fire with family and friends. I couldn’t have asked for a better vacation!

Stayed Aug 5, 2017We just had the most incredible family reunion you could imagine! Aging from 80 yrs old to 3 yrs old . The pictures don't describe how beautiful the place really is! The cabin was absolutely spotless, the water is crystal clear, and they have everything you could imagine to keep everybody busy for more than one week. We swam, we had some insane volleyball games, we had an awesome corn hole tournament, the young kids played on the swing set, we used their kayaks and paddle boards and floats. I brought my boat and we did kneeboarding , waterskiing, and even had my 80 yr old father tubing! At night the awesome fire pit brought everyone together!! To get family members together like that where everyone is relaxed and having fun is priceless! We had sixteen people stay at the the cabin and everyone had a comfy place to sleep! I could go on and on but i can honestly say no one wanted to leave and everybody already wants to come back next year!!! The Thibodeau's where nothing but professional through out the whole rental process! I wish i could personally thank them in person ! I hope we can do this again next or i'll have some upset family members on hand. THANK YOU so much for some amazing memories!!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We have been staying at the black bears den for 6 years in a row now. It is something that the entire family looks forward to every year. We have family members form 6 months old to 60 years old and every has a great time here. The cabin is comfortable, spacious and very clean. The best attribute is most definitely the property itself. We enjoy competitive games of volleyball and horseshoes. The lake is beautiful and the sunsets are absolutely amazing! I highly recommend you bring your camera not only to capture the priceless moments of you and your family truly enjoying time together but you could also have a good chance of getting a snap shot of an eagle in flight. Stewart and Margaret have been nothing but gracious hosts. They are very accommodating and will always go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay. We have stayed in other rentals, condos and hotels throughout New Hampshire for the last 20 years and we no longer have to look for places to stay to enjoy the live free or die state because we have found the best place for me and my family. If you are looking for a beautiful location to enjoy an activity filled day or to relax and nap in a hammock while listening to loons sing do yourself a favor and stay at the black bears den. - the Carters

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The Thibodeau home is absolutely beautiful! The pictures pale in comparison to the property. There is fun for the ENTIRE family. Our children, ages 6-17, always had a fun activity available to keep them busy. Everyone really enjoyed playing volleyball. The views of the lake and Maine are picturesque. Just bring your loved ones, they have everything you need from life jackets to margarita glasses! We are already looking forward to next year!!!
