Beautiful property, loved the kayaks and paddle boards on-site. Easy to work with property manager. Has everything you need to make meals and the washer and dryer was a huge plus! Sleeping arrangements were great with lots of options.
Cabin was exactly as described. Very cool historic cabin that has everything you need for a fun weekend. Will definitely be back!
The place was perfect!!!!! Very clean and all the amenities that you need! I feel privileged having stayed in a place like this. I caught 25 Northern Pike trolling on the SW side of the lake using a black spinner bait. Special thanks to George & Rocky who were great chatting to and very knowledgeable. Thanks Tim!!!!!
We had a wonderful stay at the Marcell Lodge! The lodge itself is historic, but wonderfully updated with many modern touches. The kitchen was great & fully stocked, and there were plenty of beds to spread out. The grounds are kept wonderfully manicured & the overall service from Tim & the team was exceptional (checking on us daily for fire wood & boat gas refills, handling quickly a couple small issues we had, etc.). Marcell itself is small, but the Pine Cone Cafe & Timberwolf Inn were both great places to grab a bite, and the Frontier Sports store offers just about everything (gas, bait, groceries, beer, ice cream, souvenirs, etc.). For more options, Bigfork is only about 10 mins north. Tons of great trails & lakes in the area. All in all 5/5 stars & we can't wait to come back!
The cabin was beautiful! So clean and well taken care of. We slept the best we had in years probably because it was so quiet, cool and dark! Everything was ready for us from the boat with fuel, to the fire pit and wood supply to the nicely stocked kitchen! Best vacation ever!
The Lodge was lovely and spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed. We especially loved the use of the boat, kayaks, and paddleboards. Of course, it is remote, which for my family was the point, so get your provisions before you head to the Lodge. The Discovery Center staff was helpful as we planned activities like a hike to the Lost Forty. Overall, it was a wonderful and we hope to rent it again someday.
Clean nice place. Great people to work with. One of my best vacations ever.
Great accommodations. Everything you need is provided. Lovely historical cabin with hiking near by, fishing and water gactivities. Quiet peaceful property. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Great communication leading up to our stay. The property was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The boys loved the kayaks and the lake. We had a wonderful stay.
This cabin is an absolute treasure! We enjoyed the secluded feel while still close to everything you need. We greatly enjoyed using the kayaks and paddleboards and our kids love swimming in the sand area. The water is so clear we could actually see the fish wr were catching and was so warm and inviting to swim in. The cabin itself is amazing. The beds are comfortable and it has a very homey feel. The kitchen is also fully stock with everything you need and has more than enough room for family and friends to enjoy the great outdoors. We will be back to stay here again!
Everything went smoothly. The lodge and lake setting were fantastic. Very glad to see a lake with little development and most shore land owners only had lightly developed shorelines (I.e., they didn’t rip out all the vegetation and put in big sterile sand beaches with no fish habitat). That sad fishing was so-so, but obviously not the lodge owners fault. Largemouth bass and bluegill were abundant and easily caught. Wish we would have had more time to chase after the crappie. The boat, motor, kayaks, paddle boards and canoe were a big hit for my family. I wanted to do a little more hiking and biking, but the kids loved just relaxing in the water and paddling around. My 5 year old grandson loved the small beach and shallow water. He played almost continuously there. Great fun every day we stayed.
If you need some peace and quiet- this is the place! We were thrilled to be able to stay in this historic cabin/lodge from 1934 and yet- have modern conveniences. We only left the premises once to hike. We had a great time with the grandkids. So many activities to keep them busy. We escaped the 90+ temperature from the Twin Cities. Each day it was between 70-80’s. Bring a light jacket!
Excellent location with everything you could need. We had a blast. Lake is small but the fishing was great and the kids loved swimming. The historic lodge is really cool and the amenities were wonderful.
It was a wonderful log cabin lodge with a private setting. The host was very helpful and the place was immaculate.
Really liked our stay! The mosquitoes were INSANE!!! but that's not the cabins fault... bring your spray and itch cream! All the full size beds were comfy, but all the twins were pretty uncomfortable that's was the only thing. Luckily our group was small, so the 2 kids shared a full bed because one of them didn't want to sleep in the twin again. That was the only thing... everything else was wonderful!
This amazing, historic log cabin cabin is set on a small hill overlooking the lake. The view can't be beat. The kitchen is well stocked with everything but the food and seasonings! This property is move in ready.
