Property is located near all places we wanted to see and visit. Would recommend installing grab bars in bathroom, since one member of our group had a knee injury, which made it difficult to use toilets because they are very low. Or, upgrade toilets to ones that are higher.
Was clean inside an comfortable Outside could have been cleaned up more Neighbors filled the trash can with their trash Two other outside cans already had trash in them when we arrived Would be nice to have a kettle Area very very peaceful . So much to do in area if you like hiking . We had an awesome time
Nice place to getaway
My family and I loved our stay here! We hope to come back and make it a traditional getaway spot for us. My only suggestion would be to have easy curtains for the large bedroom upstairs for those of us who enjoy sleeping late :)
Central location for siblings from Michigan and Georgia. Had planned to do some hiking to Natural Bridge and in Red River Gorge. First day was a rain out so we made a trip to Louisville Slugger Museum which was not a bad drive. Second day we got to see Natural Bridge and some of the Gorge Cottage was comfortable for two couples but one had to sleep in separate rooms. All in all it was a good place to catch up We’re all in our seventies
We had the best time!!! The cabin was absolutely beautiful….
Thank you so much for allowing us to use your absolutely beautiful cabin for our cousins trip. We had the best time, we were close to everything, the kitchen was well stocked with anything we needed to cook in, the fire pit, the grill, the back patio was amazing to sit on, we absolutely had the best time. We laughed a lot talked a lot played cards a lot. Thank you again, so much for allowing us to use your beautiful cabin.
It was such a great time!! It was my first get away with just me and my kids! So many laughs and memories!!
We had a great stay during a cold long weekend at this property. It was super clean and cozy. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, dishes, pots and pans, etc. and made it easy for cooking. The couches were comfy, and the fireplace kept all of us (but an extra-cold person) toasty. Our dogs enjoyed playing with the neighbor dog. We had easy driving access to rock climbing and hiking, and it wasn't too far from a grocery store. Watching the sun rise/set from the big bedroom upstairs was peaceful.
Very clean and very well token care of. Had everything we needed. From dishes to towel’s. Only thing I can say that would be even remotely close to a negative note. The top two small rooms do get very warm without the fan (which was supplied and in the closets) and that’s okay because as it was cool. Thank you for having us. Until next time
We had a great time staying at the cabin. Not too far from stores and the city, but far enough to decompress and relax. The back yard is awesome for grilling and watching the sunset with family or friends. The autumn colors are beautiful there. The cabin is well equipped (except Wi-Fi), and very cozy. Easy check in and easy check out. We are hoping to come back soon! Thank you for the hostesses for the great experience!
This place has paved roads up to the property. Very small gravel hill for parking lot. GREAT FOR BIKES!
The place was clean and cozy. Absolutely loved it! Even had a friendly cute dog that visited.
we really enjoyed this property. We went to the lime stone mine, horseback riding, hiking, and kayaking which we’re all very very close by. The cabin is adorable and very comfortable. Just a heads up: there's no wifi. Another heads up: The people across the street own outdoor dogs. They were covered in ticks and were not friendly to our dogs. We spoke with the neighbors and they didn't have any interest in keeping the dogs in their yard. Other than that, it was a perfect trip and we will definitely come again
It was pretty simple and easy to rent the property.
We stayed here for our trip of hiking all day. This was great place to stay. Unfortunately the first day was well into high 90s so the upstairs was very warm. Then rest of our stay it cooled off and the upstairs was much better. Overall it was a great stay.
Very nice place. Roomy decks, and clean with good amenities. The sleeping arrangements are a little weird - two queen beds in the same room, and the twin beds in the other rooms are actually a twin and a trundle bed in each room. When it is warm and humid out it gets a bit stuffy in the big bedroom, as there are no windows or screen doors in there, but there is air conditioning downstairs and a ceiling fan in the bedroom.
Overall, we enjoyed the property especially our puppy who enjoyed playing with the neighborhood dogs especially Snoopy. There were a couple of deficiencies we did not know before we arrived. 1) The property really needs Wi-Fi, that was extremely annoying because the metal building interfered with telephone-based hotspots. My wife had to go into town to answer several work-related e-mails. 2) If we had known there was no dishwasher be would have brought more disposable plates and plastic utensils. As it was, we had to go back to Kroger near Lexington to pick some up.
Thank you for sharing your cabin had a wonderful time. Loved the property and spent most time on the decks or out back cooking and having a fire. Kitchen had everything needed. Comfortable living room to relax after a long day of hiking.
Checkin was easy. Combo box with the key. 2 nice bathrooms with fancy showers. Board games very much appreciated. The roasting sticks are a nice touch on the post by the fire pit. Many nice touches by the owner. There is a lot of love pit in sharing the cabin. It shows. On the down side, while approaching the property one has to pass by some not so tidy (to be kind) properties and there is a small car junk yard as part of the view from the upstairs balcony! The living room feels like a cave with very small windows compared the the wall of windows upstairs. The lay out of the bedrooms was a surprise, 2 queen size beds in the master… not a romantic setting for a getaway! Or maybe it’s a thing. Not ours… We struggled with regulating the temperatures between the upstairs and the downstairs, keeping the upstairs cool while warming up the downstairs proved against our best efforts, especially with the doors that do not close since the cabin settled! We had the A/C units going upstairs with the window open to try to get below 80 (and the outside temps were around 34 during the night!) It was an adventure as any getaway trip is. There are more positives to remember. We made some good memories that will fuel the “do you remember when…” it was within 20 minutes of many wonderful hikes, great food joints which was our intended purpose. Cheers!
We absolutely loved this property! The perfect distance from all the local restaurants (15-20 min) and hiking trails! Perfect stay for 2 people or a small group. Cabin was very clean, with all the amenities (towels, washer/dryer, cooking supplies, charcoal grill) too! Worth the stay!!
