The house is very well suited for a family reunion. It's a 45 minute drive to Pickett state park (an other parks for hiking). However, as it is in a pretty remote area we just hiked on the roads on some days ... almost no car traffic. Loved the arrangement of the bedrooms/bathrooms in the house. There is one bathroom per 2 bedrooms, so even being there with 16 people wouldn't be a problem. Well stocked kitchen as well. Found everything we needed.
The house was great for our sibling trip. Both levels were great for all of us to hangout in and play games. The marina was close to go fishing and launching our bass boat. The only down fall was the driveway. The gravel on the steep part of the driveway made it harder to back the bass boat up on without a 4 wheel drive.
This property is a great place for a large gathering. Bring everything you need to eat or drink, the seclusion is the attraction. Learn to cook, converse, relax and enjoy.
We loved the property. House was perfect to accommodate our large family! Kids loved the loft area to hang out away from the adults. House was perfect! We will book this house again! Great location to the marina. The river was perfect for boating. Not too busy plus the depth of the water was perfect for our boat.
We had a group of 17 with kids and adults of all ages. We had enough space to accommodate everyone and had room to spread out. Thankful for 2 fridges and a well stocked kitchen. Anything we would ever need on a trip was available: toilet paper, cleaning supplies, trash bags, soap, washing machine and detergent, etc. Close to the water for boating/kayaking/fishing/marina restaurant. About a 30 min drive to a recreational area. We loved being away from the hustle and bustle. The only thing to consider is this property is on a steep hill. Some were in shape enough to walk up and down, but was not convenient to take a stroll. We ended up just driving people down and up when done fishing/kayaking. We also loved the hot tub, fire pit, and pool table. The kids fought over who was going to use the 85” tv upstairs. Gaming at its finest. We would highly recommend staying here to anyone interested. Bill was amazing at communicating and fast replies. Lovely 4th of July family reunion
We really enjoyed Bear-Footin. We had 4 families consisting of 18 people ranging from 13-77 years old. The rooms and bathrooms were large and accommodating. The layout of the cabin was great and we never felt cramped with multiple common areas and large outside wrap around porch. The cabin was decorated great and kitchen was fully equipped with 2 refrigerators, multiple coffee makers, and well stocked with dishes, silverware, cookware and staple pantry items. The cabin is close to the marina where we docked one boat and rented another. We enjoyed multiple days on the lake, but also enjoyed spending time in cabin playing cards, board games, pool table, hot tubbing and grilling. We cannot wait to be back.
The place was as spacious as could be. The pool table was used by everyone The younger ones enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen was a highlight especially with two refrigerators which is a great addition. We had a great time playing games outside and inside. The corn hoe games were very competitive and fun. a good time had by all!!
We had a very nice time. The place was beautiful!!
Property was as described. Cabin was clean, comfortable, and suited our groups needs.
The representation of the property in the pictures was very accurate. The residence was spacious and had plenty of room to accommodate many people. The overall quality of the stay had some hiccups. We were without heat on Friday night on the bottom level, when the temperature was below freezing. Contacted the property manager to be told nothing could be done til the next day. No one showed up til after 5pm the next day to find out the duct work wasn’t connected under the house. This could have been resolved had it been checked to make sure it was working before we checked in. Furthermore the cleanliness of the cabin was questionable as my 4 year old great nephew found an unopened Smirnoff Ice in the upstairs couch. Several lights were out as well which made it a bit difficult to see at times. There wasn’t a reminder email before check in to give helpful tidbits. That was only sent out in June the day after booking. Normally it wouldn’t be an issue but it had important information such as the fact that they don’t provide towels. There was an issue with the tile in one of the bathrooms as well. Overall we enjoyed our stay but I would hope the property could be cleaned better and maybe better communication leading up to the stay to help make it go smoother. Also would recommend a phone in the cabin due to the spotty cellular service around the cabin.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Bear footin' cabin. It's even nicer than it looks in the pictures. We had a group of 11 and had plenty of room; especially loved the 8 bedrooms. Comfortable beds, large kitchen for cooking meals for a large group, and loved the outdoor area with a nice firepit, large deck and hot tub. The property owner was excellent, quick communication and answers to our questions. A great place for large groups. We stayed the week between Christmas and New Years and were pleasantly surprised to have a decorated Christmas tree and Christmas decorations still up.
The online pictures needs to be updated but when actually walk into the cabin it’s BREATHTAKING! My family and I traveled here for Christmas right after the area had a big snow storm. The host (Bill) was great at making sure we knew what to expect upon arrival & kept us updated. We arrived on Christmas Eve to a beautiful Christmas tree already set up for us. This cabin has become our new go to cabin in TN from this point forward. You will not regret booking this home. It has everything you need plus more.
We loved the setup of this home. It’s very well-designed with the bedrooms and community spaces. We weren’t expecting a Christmas tree and were thrilled when we walked in to find one. Bill went above and beyond and was a great communicator as well. We will certainly be back!
We are so thankful we found this property in Dale Hollow, TN. The property was very clean, well laid out, adequately furnished and located a block from the marina. Bill responded promptly to our requests and was a perfect host. We look forward to returning to this location in the future.
We booked the property as a place to host my wife’s 60th birthday. We had friends come to town from NC, SC, Al and Nashville. We enjoyed the layout of 8 beds and 4 bath! The property had almost everything we needed including dog bowls and corn hole. We had plenty of seats and plenty of space for everyone! Bill was super responseful when the AC went out on a Friday night and had a tech here asap. The marina had a small convienance store and restaurant; super friendly people worked at both locations. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to return! We are planning to make this an annual meeting spot for everyone.
My family and I had a absolutely amazing time! the cabin was huge and EXTREMELY clean! we were all very impressed. the boat doc is right down the road, so convenient. they have 2 fridges which was super accomodating. they have game boards there for you and family to play. our family vacation couldnt have gone any better. bill responded extremely fast anytime we had any questions as well as most of the rooms had king beds which was a huge plus for our family and super clean! cant wait to plan to come back. thanks!
