Stayed Sep 11, 2025Beautiful location. The house needs a thorough cleaning. The living room rug needs to be replaced and the furniture could do with updating /cleaning

Stayed Aug 22, 2025Excellent location on a beautiful beach, perfect for beach combing! Walking distance from Dog Woods preserve makes it a dog friendly location. We did have some concerns about the water coming from the kitchen and bathroom faucets. It had a strong sulphur and rusty smell so we used the water cooler provided as much as possible.

Stayed Jul 3, 2025We loved our stay; it was quiet, beautiful & peaceful. We loved watching the boat traffic, comfy beds, there was a fan (stored under the bed), all kitchen basics, clean remodeled bathroom, and amazing water view & access. Gave 4 stars instead of 5, as the kitchen was not as clean as should be/as the rest of the home, and pots & pans/dishes/silverware were visibly dirty. Overall a nice stay!

Stayed Jul 6, 2025This stay was a great compromise for us - I wanted to be on the water, my partner wanted to be in a rustic space. Check and check. It was great for us for a few nights. I spent many hours combing the quiet beach for agates and other fun rocks! A note for future guests totally unrelated to the house itself: be sure to research ferries (Guemes and Anacortes other islands) thoroughly - cost, timing, tickets vs reservations, etc - because as folks unfamiliar it did cause us some stressful moments. A lovely stay and we are looking forward to a return visit in the future!

Stayed Jun 2, 2025This is one of the few waterfront homes available for short stays. When we arrived the electronic lock didn’t work and customer service directed us to open a lockbox that was empty. After finding and opening a second lockbox we gained entry. The house was dusty and the outdoor furniture hadn’t been cleaned in a long time by evidence of a thick layer of dust and significant bird poop. Windows on the south side facing the water were difficult to open. Be warned there is no dishwasher or garbage disposal and we had ants around the sink several time during our two day stay. The toilet was dirty on arrival and the shower head was clogged and had to be removed so we could take a fire-hose-like shower. Finally, the hot water has a very strong sulfur (rotten egg) smell. Not great for showering or washing dishes. All in all, this is a lovely spoton a lovely island but shouldn’t be rented until the amenities and maintenance are significantly upgraded.

Stayed Sep 19, 2024The property was lovely, and access to the beach from the backyard... priceless. Loved the ability to bring our pup along for the weekend. Great views and beautiful sunsets. A few things could use a little TLC, and the listing updated to reflect. Also a note that the septic system has a bit of an offputting sulfur smell, but totally appreciated the hot/cold water filter provided.

Stayed Sep 5, 2024two friends and their dog stayed here for a wedding at Guremes Island Resort. The listing was accurate, but the automated responses to inquiries was a little frustrating. They let me know at about 3pm that I could check in early at Noon, same on the check out. Great place though and on the water.

Stayed Aug 26, 2024Although the cabin is indeed rustic is was clean and the location is great. The shipping lanes in front of the cabin provided endless entertainment when not walking on the beach itself.

Stayed Aug 22, 2024I rented this cozy place to meet my husband after he returned from 5 days of kayaking and camping in the San Juan Islands. This rustic A-frame has a front-row view of Guemes Channel and the twinkling lights of Anacortes at night. The king bed mattress in the loft is very comfortable, and the bathroom fresh and well stocked with towels. We enjoyed the cheery wood stove, and made good use of the two-night stash of firewood. Ferries, boats and sea planes do pass by occasionally, and we enjoyed watching this activity. Our last morning, an Orca with two juveniles made an appearance! The one and only General Store on Guemes Island was mainly a pub restaurant, with very limited supplies and food tucked in the far back, but we had the best apple pie ever there! We would re-book this place for sure!

Stayed May 9, 2024This rustic cabin is right on the beach and the surroundings are beautiful. There is such a variety of wildlife to see and listen to, it's amazing. We enjoyed driving and walking around the island checking out all the landmarks and offerings. Be sure to bring everything you think you might need as far as food & beverages go. There is a General Store and they have a list online of what they stock but do not count on that! I found myself taking the short trip across to the Safeway in Anacortes to get the items we needed that were on the General Store list....but not in stock at the store. All in all we had the peaceful, relaxing, wonderful getaway we were looking for.
