The drive winds through farms, forests, and marshes before opening onto peaceful shoreline — sunrise over the water, long beach walks, and the rare feeling of being removed from everyday life, in place and time.

Watch for ospreys, eagles, pelicans, turtles, hummingbirds, and monarch butterflies. During migration, there's no telling whatyou'll see.

The space
Situated on a narrow peninsula between the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay, this waterfront home offers a peaceful setting surrounded by water, wildlife, and open skies. The home features comfortable living spaces and a glass/screened porch with a fan, a small heater, and adjustable panels — making it comfortable to enjoy nearly year-round — plus outdoor areas designed for relaxing and enjoying the view.

Kayaks are provided for exploring the shoreline, and a Tesla charger is available on-site for EV drivers. The beach is ideal for fishing, birdwatching, and simply taking in the scenery — dolphins, nesting turtles, and a wide range of birds are regular sights depending on the season.

The property sits near two of Southern Maryland's landmarks: Point Lookout State Park at the peninsula's tip, and Historic St. Mary's City, Maryland's first colonial capital and now a living-history museum. Together they make this a great base for exploring local history and the unique landscape where the Potomac meets the Chesapeake.

With few nearby lights and wide-open skies, guests can enjoy peaceful nights, beautiful sunsets, and excellent stargazing. This is a place to unplug, unwind, and slow down.

Guest access
The property is exclusive to the guest. A tool shed and one room inside the house are used for owner storage and will be locked during your stay.

Other things to note
Road Conditions: The property sits in a low-lying coastal area. During high tides, storms, or wind-driven tidal events, portions of the access road through the wetlands may see shallow flooding. This is usually temporary and clears as tides recede, but please build in some flexibility for arrival/departure timing in case water is on the road.

Parking: The driveway fits 2 cars side by side, and a third can typically pull ahead onto the grass. The final stretch of road is unpaved and sandy — stay on the road surface, as a very low-clearance vehicle could have trouble.

EV Charging: A Tesla charger is available for guest use during your stay.

Nature Note: This home borders marshes, beaches, and wetlands teeming with wildlife — it's part of what makes the setting special. In warmer months, mosquitoes and biting flies can show up outdoors, especially on calm evenings, so pack repellent if you plan to be out late. The screened/glassed porch has adjustable panels — switch between full glass and screened sections depending on conditions — plus a fan and a small heater, so it stays comfortable across most of the year and cuts down significantly on bugs, though it isn't fully sealed. Depending on the season, tides, and wind, jellyfish may also be present in the water.
