Nice quiet comfortable getaway. The home had everything we needed.

We had a great vacation at this cabin. It’s easy to find, very clean, and beautifully decorated. Owners are very nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend this cabin. LOVED the porch!

This little Cabin was amazing. We wanted something quiet and away from everyone and this was perfect. The only issue we had was the WIFI wasn't the best and our service wasn't too good up there either.

Our stay at DuPont Forest was outstanding! The cabin was beautiful and clean, and in a stunning setting with easy access to trails, the Forest, and the mountains! And Connie was a wonderful host that made arrival and departure super easy! HIGHLY recommended!

Comfy, clean, and convenient to lots of hiking.

Nice place but host advertises fire pit but doesn’t let us use it on a perfect Spring night because she is a worry wort that it may cause a fire. She claimed there was a fire ban when there was only a warning and then had an attitude (making things worse) about it when I told her there was no ban after I researched it (I even called the local fire department which confirmed no fire ban in place). Either advertise the fire pit and let people use it or don’t have it if you’re worried it may cause a fire. Also, poor communication when checking in. Disappointment of the poor attitude, poor communication, and lack of the ability to use what is advertised.

Cabin was very cozy and fully stocked. Bed too soft tho.

Place was just as described. Close enough to everything to be convenient, but far enough away to be peaceful. Owner was very easy to work with and I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area.

Every detail of this little house is perfection. We have stayed at many nice vacation homes, and this one is our new favorite. Nicely appointed. Spotless. Beautifully designed. A true “home away from home”.

Outstanding price and location

We had a wonderful stay in this cabin. The hosts are very welcoming and have the cabin well appointed. We love the gas fireplace when it is chilly outside. This cabin is very clean and cozy.

My wife and I had wonderful time here. Cabin was perfect. It had everything we needed for winter stay and it was extremely quiet and private. We were only couple miles from some great hikes to waterfalls. There are some quaint mountain towns nearby but not close enough to get the hustle and bustle traffic lol. The landscaping at cabin was pretty along with the porch and mountain views:) We will definitely stay again in future...

Everything about this place was great! The hosts have taken great care to make it a true home away from home. The outdoor beauty is phenomenal … from watching the sun rise above the mountain to a million stars in the night sky, one couldn’t feel closer to heaven. There were tons of places to explore, hike and enjoy nature. The town of Hendersonville has an abundance of good restaurants and shops. Five star for sure!

My husband and I had such a wonderful time. The house was perfect. We walked in and saw an exquisitely clean home. Since my husband and I love coffee, we especially like the coffee bar. I walk barefoot and no matter where I walked my feet did not pick up anything. I forgot to bring napkins and paper towels— but, no worries, there was a start up supply. Who would notice the flowers in the window box on the back window — I did. The extra touches were great. We were blessed with a full moon and the porch was the perfect place to enjoy it. We are technology handicapped, but we got immediate help with the fire place. The area had so many wonderful places - within driving distance — to explore Five stars is not sufficient for this diamond in the rough. We got a “ big bang” for our buck. Thank you to our tremendous host.

Perfect location to the DuPont State Park. Everything was perfect at the cabin. Beds were comfortable and essentials stocked on the kitchen cupboards. Hostess Connie was easy to work with and quick to communicate.

This was truly the nicest VRBO rental we've ever stayed in. It was spotless, well appointed, and a beautifully designed property. And the night stars! There were a million visible each night. I cannot recommend this property enough.

The cabin was wonderful. It was clean and the porch was great. We ate breakfast out there every morning and spent a lot of time in the swing and comfortable chairs. It was a great location also to enjoy many local waterfalls and great dining.

Very nice cabin on a steep road near Brevard NC. Excellent rustic decor with modern amenities. We decided last minute to get away for the weekend and this was the perfect place.

Super cute and comfortable cabin! Very clean, tastefully decorated, and the hosts Connie and David are fantastic, very responsive to all communication, and have provided every thing you may need….and then some! Location is quiet and central to Brevard and Hendersonville (for dining, groceries, etc) and close to multiple waterfall hikes around the area. When we weren’t out exploring all that the area has to offer, we loved relaxing on the front porch and listening to the waterfall nearby! Highly recommend this home and property!

This was our second stay at the cabin. It was as wonderful as we remembered it. Perfect location between Brevard and Hendersonville, comfortable and clean accommodations, and the porch is a great spot for waiting out an afternoon storm or counting fireflies in the evening. We plan to return again next summer.

Shoal Sound was perfect in every way - a beautiful cabin with everything we needed in an amazing location to enjoy relaxing, seeing a bunch of waterfalls, enjoying shopping and dining in Brevard and cheering at the Little League tournament.

Cabin is quaint and cozy with all the modern amenities. We were very comfortable with four people and it was so nice to be tucked away but still close to trails, waterfalls, and Brevard. Owners are very easy to talk to and resolved one small issue very quickly. Loved our time here. We hope to be back!

This cabin had everything we could want and more! The property was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully stocked with so many extra touches that made our stay even more special, from river towels for our adventures to a firepit perfect for evening s’mores. We loved relaxing on the porch swing and rocking chairs, especially listening to the peaceful sound of rain on the tin roof in the afternoons. Every detail was just right, and we truly enjoyed every moment. We can’t wait to come back!

I surprised my husband with a 2 night stay for his birthday. We hiked, relaxed, dined on the porch, and felt like we were able to escape while at Shoal Sound. The accommodations were perfect - clean, spacious, homey, and comfortable! Bonus- The weather was amazing.

What a great place to stay! This was a great jumping off spot to visit Brevard, Hendersonville, Asheville& Greensville.The cabin itself was perfect for a family of 4. We loved all the extra touch that made staying there so easy. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, we cooked almost every night and had everything we needed. Everything was clean and extremely well maintained. Thrilled we stayed and will recommend to all our friends!

A beautifully kept home, well stocked and nicely decorated . Well worth the price. The owners have put a lot of effort into meeting every need. Its obvious they're desire is to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. Would love to stay again during our next visit.

It was so peaceful and a perfect location for my hiking trip to DSRF.

We came for our second visit and spent 4 nights at the cabin and again found it very comfortable and relaxing. It has everything you need and then some. Loved the location. Connie and David were very gracious and shared their knowledge about the area. We look forward to our next visit.

My wife and I loved Shoal Sound and you can actually hear it from the gorgeous porch . We were on the trail in 5 minutes from the house . I highly recommend staying!

The owners were wonderful checking in with us when there could have been a power outage. This is a wonderful location and home.

The cabin feels secluded, yet it’s centrally located between Brevard and Hendersonville. Being at the entrance to Dupont, we were on the trail in less than five minutes and on a Pisgah trail in 20. The cabin is very quaint and is beautifully decorated. It’s the perfect size for 4. We would definitely recommend and return.

Connie has created the most amazing and peaceful space! Very clean, all the amenities, and the location is incredible! Just down the road from 3 big waterfalls! Would love to come back again! Highly recommend!!!

A great location for hiking or just to get away and relax. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for making meals, very comfortable furniture. While we didn’t have the opportunity to hike the Dupont Forest because of the weather, I would definitely entertain a second visit and explore more of the area.Thank you Connie for everything!Peter and Avalee

We really enjoyed our stay at Shoal Sound. The house was very clean and comfortable. It had all of the amenities provided that we needed for our 3 night stay. We enjoyed the gas fireplace since it was chilly outside. It made the family room nice and cozy.

Absolutely loved taking a weekend away at this house. Check in was very smooth, and the hosts responded right away to my only question. The house is very comfortable (beds, furniture etc) which is not always the case in rentals! Very cozy sitting in front of the fireplace and on the porch swing. The house had everything you could possibly need stocked in the kitchen, even things like extra bags, clips, etc. The property is beautiful as well, perched on the side of the hill so it feels like you’re completely alone when you look out the windows. Very quiet and calm. Thank you so much!

This is our second time staying at this cozy cabin (one time without kids, and this time we brought them along). The cabin is stocked with everything we could have needed. We especially enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings. Love the proximity to both Hendersonville and Brevard. We will be back!

We all enjoyed the beautiful fall colors and the deer during our morning coffee. The house was very clean and comfortable. Their were no restaurants nearby, and driving back and forth to Hendersonville and Brevard was slightly inconvenient for us. If we were going to stay at the house and have meals there, we would definitely choose this property again.

The cabin is in a great location. Quick drive to DuPont, Brevard, and Jeter Mountain Farm for some apple picking. The outdoor space and covered porch was perfect for the kids. Connie was a wonderful host. Would definitely recommend!

This was not my first VRBO but it might be my last because I cannot imagine another property being this great!! If you can think of something you might need, it’s there. This place is beautiful and peaceful and conveniently located but tucked away and very private. If you can only choose one place to stay near Brevard, choose this one. The owners should hold “how to” clinics.
