Beautiful property. Clean. However, oven was filthy. Coffee makers weren't cleaned, full of grounds. Crockpot had dried food. Outdoor grill was dirty. One broken plate in the cupboard. Refrigerator was dirty and smelled like fish. Absolutely loved this property, but needs more attention paid to details.
I chose this property in hopes of catching some Geminid meteors on the deck that offers a great open canopy above the treetops. Our last of three nights it cleared up before midnight delivering delight for this yearly spectacular show, more so since it was near the new moon this year to see the faintest to the fieriest under the glory of the Milky Way. We had 3 nights of incredible sunsets that you don't get with a cabin deep in the woods below the tree tops. It was spacious clean and comfortable with accommodations for cooking, dining and entertaining in the spacious living room or game room on the lower level both, of which don fireplaces on cooler nights at 6000'. The pool table was an extra lagniappe accoutrement. Cell service was good and the internet and Wi-Fi was great for surfing or smart TV streaming on the large and beautiful living room flat screen and elsewhere. The owners and Evolve property management were most communicative and accommodating before and during our stay.
We loved the wrap around porch which faced the ponderosa forest. It is very quiet; no street noise at all. Everyone like the layout.
The Good: Check in was easy House was mostly clean Location was good for us (not walkable to anything but pretty private) The Bad: Upon check-in, there was an odor coming from the kitchen sink. We ran the water and tried to turn on the disposal only to find out the disposal was unplugged and the kitchen sink was leaking (way more than a couple drops) from the disposal. The dishwasher water line also ran through the disposal. Before contacting management, we decided to walk around and see if anything else was out of place. We opened the freezer and there was blood/ meat juice in the freezer. We contacted the primary contact and sent pictures and after a few hours and a couple more attempts via email and text (the listed preferred method), we received a response that they would contact a handyman and cleaner and send them out the next day. That was the last we heard from them during our 4 day/ 3 night stay despite additional attempts to contact them. There were some minor issues like screens that wouldn’t close all the way or smoothly, a door that wouldn’t lock, and some of the dishes were dirty, but put away as if they were clean. We purchased a lot of groceries on our way up to Pine/Strawberry to cook most of our meals while staying at the home, but with the kitchen sink not functional and with us unable to wash/ reuse pans and dishes or use the dishwasher, we ended up spending way more money eating out than we had planned on. I asked for $300 back - no response yet.
It was perfect the view was spectacular. Really enjoyed our stay.
This is a great cabin in the woods. It is secluded and private. House was clean and comfortable.
Perferct weekend getaway beautiful place to stay. The views were amazing we really enjoyed our visit.
This home is nice and secluded. Cannot see your neighbors. House was clean . Beds were comfortable. Pool table was a great bonus as well as many other games .
This place was very clean and inviting. I would recommend staying here to family and friends looking to get away from Phoenix and enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains.
Overall decent place to stay. Only issues we had is that there may have been mice. Found droppings and torn up toilet paper. Never saw them but overall pretty clean and stocked with necessities. Game room was awesome! FYI pretty narrow and steep driveway so I would back in.
So great. We loved every minute of our stay. The home is just perfect. We spent a ton of time playing games and hanging out of the deck looking at wildlife and the stars. The kids loved the record player and the loft. Overall just a really neat trip. We would love to go back sometime
We had an unfortunate experience at this location. The location was great, and the outdoor space was fantastic. However, the loft area was not clean-previous visitors left crumbs and paper out, the dining room patio door wouldn’t lock- we had to shim the door just to keep it closed, we struggled to open and close the living room patio door, the pool balls got stuck in the pool table and we found two scorpions in the downstairs space which led us not to use the rooms downstairs. Additionally, surfaces were dusty and there were cobwebs and spiders everywhere! We attempted to contact the property manager, but received no response.
This place was wonderful. All had a blast. Kids loved playing in the loft. Views from the balcony were breath taking. Would rent again! Was just the perfect place for a perfect weekend.
Our family had a great time staying here for a few days to escape the Phoenix heat. All of the beds were comfortable, there was a nice kitchen/outdoor grill that we used to make dinner one of the evenings, and it was close to some hiking/sightseeing areas that we like to visit. Our kid's favorite feature of this place was the pool table! The view from the back of the cabin was beautiful and we enjoyed looking at the stars & the distant thunderstorms in the evenings. Overall it was a great getaway and we would stay again. Thanks!
This cabin has everything and more that you could want! It was super clean, had all of the kitchen appliances, cookware, utensils, etc. (and then some!) you could think of. The view from the bedrooms and decks are amazing. So incredibly peaceful! There are phone charging stations throughout the house. It feels like the comforts of home, but away from all of the chaos. Fun activities inside (pool table, record player, TV's) and out (we saw lots of elk and deer). Great restaurants and store nearby. We will definitely go back!
