BRIEF DESCRIPTION: These two renovated cabins boast a beautiful and secluded location at the edge of the Paradise Valley. On twenty private acres at the end of a dirt road, views of the valley and the rugged Absaroka Mountain peaks are nearly all that can be seen. Wildlife and bird viewing, as well as access to millions of acres of public lands, makes it a nature enthusiast's dream. In spring and early summer, nearby Six Mile Creek can be heard rushing down from the mountains.
GENERAL LOCATION: Thirty miles south of Livingston, near Pray, Montana. Yellowstone National Park is only 30 miles away! The Gallatin Field airport, located just outside of Bozeman, is approximately an hour away.
STYLE/DECOR: Both of these cabins were moved from other sites and renovated in a comfortable, rustic style. The main cabin has a large front porch from which to enjoy the views. The second cabin (rented only in addition to the main cabin so as to protect guest's privacy), allows for larger groups to enjoy this wonderful home site. Both cabins have hardwood floors throughout and lots of windows.
SIZE: The main cabin is approximately 1000 square feet, and the second cabin is an additional 600 square feet.
BEDROOMS/BATHROOMS: There is a total of four bedrooms and three bathrooms between the two cabins. The main cabin has one bedroom with a queen size bed, a sunroom with a double bed, and there is a sleeper sofa in the living room. The main cabin has one full bath. The guest cabin (affectionately called Mountain View Motel as it was, in fact, a motel cabin moved from Gardiner, Montana!), has two bedrooms each with one double bed and two baths.
KITCHEN: The kitchen, dining and living areas of the main cabin are one big room, which gives the cabin a very homey feel. The kitchen is equipped with an electric range and oven, refrigerator, microwave, and all the necessary cookware needed. The kitchen table seats six comfortably. There is extra seating at the kitchen counter for a few more people. There is a gas grill for those outdoor meals.
LIVING ROOM: The living room adjoins the kitchen and dining area. Comfortable furniture is situated around the woodstove providing a nice space for end-of-the-day relaxing. There is a television with satellite TV and a VCR, Satellite Internet, plus a radio with a CD and tape player. As with many of our homes, due to the home's location internet can not be guaranteed for downloading and streaming.
NEARBY ACTIVITIES: Enjoy fine hiking, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding, whitewater rafting and all that the Paradise Valley has to offer. A day trip to Yellowstone National Park is a definite must! Just a short drive away is Dailey Lake - fun for fishing, swimming and a hot spot for local windsurfers, as well as Chico Hot Springs. And, if you don't want to get in the car, you can take a day hike right out the back door of the cabins. There's so much to do!
We read the reviews and descriptions provided but this place is just beyond all that! A true getaway. We canceled one day of our busy schedule just to stay in this cabin, cook, play games, and wonder around in the land. Weโll be back.
Location was sublime. Homey and comfortable.
Love this location and canโt say enough about this authentic log cabin !! We were there for the first 6-8โ of snow for the season. We just stayed in and ENJOYED the view, atmosphere, wood stove. We did some hiking around the cabin mostly just enjoyed the quiet and the views. Chuck couldnโt have been nicer. Met him day we arrived. Highly recommend. Back porch is the best.
My family and I were sad to check out! We loved this cabin so much. It instantly felt like home. It's also close to great places to eat and also Yellowstone and not far from Bozeman. And the screened in porch! That was me and my husband's go to every evening and morning. We will be renting here again for sure!
Staying here was exactly what we needed! Too often people drown with their faces in electronics, this home made us step away from that. Sure, there is WiFi on the property, but you donโt need that with all the property has to offer. Horseshoes, frisbee, Mountain Viewโs, nearby creek, fire pit, walking trail... it has everything! We rarely spent time inside, and when we did we played cards or Yahtzee! Yellowstone is only a short 30 minutes away, and youโre also near the Yellowstone River. We spent a lot of time searching for cool rocks and came back with quartz, jasper, and agates. The walking trail led us to bones and bear poo, but weโre in the wildlife, and we expected nothing less. Overall 10/10 on this home and we will definitely be coming again! Andrea
I cannot say enough good things about our stay at the Absaroka Cabin. The cabin (both main and guest cabin) were very clean. The kitchen is huge and stocked incredibly well. It had every kitchen utensil & appliance one would ever need. Very impressive! We just loved the overall cozy feel of the cabin and all the old photos and artwork throughout. The location is great as well. Only 30 miles to Yellowstone and so many beautiful hiking trails close by. It really is a little slice of heaven. Calm, peaceful and surrounded by majestic mountains. It was magical! Maria
Truly Paradise on Earth! Our labradors are always in Heaven every time we stay here. Planning many more trips to this beautiful place.
Enjoyed day trips to YNP and Livingston
We enjoyed staying at the cabins very much. It was a bit further from Yellowstone N. P., that we would have preferred, but we still loved the location of the cabins. We could not see another house nor another vehicle until we left the property. It was set in the middle of a hollow with mountains and foothills all around. It was just a wonderful location for staying in modernized log cabins. There was truly all we needed in the cabin except for major food items and our clothes. We absolutely would stay there again.
This was a perfect home base and retreat for a couple of nature lovers busily spending our days hiking, photographing and exploring. Plenty of room inside and out. Secluded, cozy but close enough to all the places we wanted to visit. I could have happily stayed for months!
