Newport, New Jersey
This little cabin like home is perfect, if your'e looking to escape from your everyday life. Its like being on a far away island, but your'e in the marsh and nature of southern Jersey. You want to bring all your necessities when coming in because the closest grocery store is about 30 mins away. We offer kayaks to be used and a vast variety of fishing equipment. A fishermans' dream!!! Don't forget your camera because the sunsets are so amazing you'll want to capture the beauty. The wildlife is outstanding, with the migratory birds that come in, that includes two beautiful bald eagles that have claimed this as there home. Walking the beach at low tide or simply sitting on the front porch will surely make this a special getaway for anyone needing to destress and relax.
House bit out dated water under porch lots of moisture amazing views birds bay overall nice stay bring dvd movies
Nice quiet out of the way place right on the water. The house had everything we needed for the week. I would have liked a medium size sauce pan for pasta but that's just me. Many sized pots available for cooking and frying. Sea glass aplenty just wait for low tide and explore. During our stay we saw Eagles, otters, crabs, American Oyster Catcher, turtles in the water and babies on the beach. We enjoyed fires by the water and watched the stars. Would definitely rent this house again.
Loved our family getaway. We used this bay spot as an anchor during our trip to south Jersey. The private beach was spectacular and our kids and Labrador loved exploring the property. For those favored by mosquitos, this location may be a challenge. Also, the shower situation for little ones wasn’t ideal but it was our error in not taking it into consideration.
The location was beautiful. It was very secluded, disconnected (literally-there was no WiFi and very little service, which we enjoyed) and peaceful, completely different than what we are used to and a very welcome change. The house was just the right size for the 4 of us(bunk beds and queen bed in one room and queen and twin in the other) Wow what a view! Every window you looked out of you just saw nature at its finest. We saw eagles and hawks and lots of baby turtles. The kayaks provided were lots of fun. My boys used them every single day. The bay was clean and definitely swimmable. My dog loved the private beach she had all to herself. The only issue was the biting flies, it's not anyone's fault but they did get a little overwhelming, especially around 2 pm at high tide. Strongly suggest you do your research on sprays or ways to try to keep them away before vacationing in this area in the summer.
We love vacationing here. love the quiet and relaxing time as well as fishing. A slice of heaven.
When we were greeted by the song of Marsh Wrens when we climbed out of car on arrival, I knew we were at the right place. Shorebirds and Marsh birds galore. A Cozy but roomy front area, good for gathering for meals, playing games, and watching the tide come in. Kayak paddles on the estuary at low tide. A wonderful place to spend time with the family we love.
If your looking for a property on a private beach away from everyone then your looking at the right property. The location and the views are amazing. The property has all the amendments you would need but note this is about location and not internet or tv. Yes the property has some quirks but come on at $275 a night and the property literally on the beach you’ll find it hard to beat. The property owners are great and reply quickly to any questions. My only suggestion would be to have a welcome book / folder to suggest local shops, restaurants, beaches ect and house instructions. Overall a great stay.
Beautiful and secluded
We had an amazing time at Dyers Cove. Our dog was able to run leash free on the beach. The kids rescued horseshoe crabs at low tide, found sea turtles and clue crabs. Watching the sun set and rise each day was breathtaking. The house had everything needed for cooking and serving meals. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. We would definitely return.
We were disappointed in our brief stay. Paid for 4 nights and we left less than 24 hours after arriving. As soon as we pulled up there was some kind of horse fly trap, not a good sign. The house has aged since the photos on VRBO, rot and mold on siding. The black flies follow you into the house every time you open the door(door closer doesn’t work), fly swatters hanging in every room. House smells, air fresheners are abundant, but they can’t mask the smell, it’s old and tons of moisture, hence the smell. The house is listing to the side, when you lay in the bed your feet are higher than your head, I told the owner, he stated it’s survived 3 hurricanes. Outside was advertised as a wonderland, not quite in our opinion. Broken glass litters the sand, I picked up so many shards I lost count, this is not a swimmable beach for children. They must have filled the shoreline in the past with broken concrete and cinder blocks, it’s everywhere. We found broken toilet bowl covers, bricks, glass and lots of dead horseshoe crabs. I could keep writing but I think my point has been made. After a year of quarantine this essential worker and his family were utterly disappointed.
