A Haven in the Heart of Elk Country

This was a beautiful stay! The place was clean and the host was very friendly and accomidating. Close to all the elk viewing areas. Will definitely come back again.

Inside was clean warm and comfortable. Outside needs a little cleaning up around the property. The most disappointment was not having any linen for beds. It would be nice if this was spelled out in the brochure or description of the property. The entrance was unsafe because the snow wasn’t removed before we arrived and eventually turned to ice.

The place was everything i was hoping for. There were elk in the yard in the morning just walking around.

The cabin was very clean, roomy and had all the things we needed. The location is Amazing because you feel like you're out in the woods, but you are still so close to all the Elk spots and downtown Benezette. We will definitely be booking this cabin again.We got to see 3 Bulls, 30 cows, 1 buck, 40 doe and a Bobcat sitting at the edge of a creek/river.

This location is very easy to access everything in Benezette. We stayed here several years ago. It has everything you need. We did bring our own bed sheets and pillows and did not opt for linen addon; however I don't recall the location not having a blanket in each bedroom that last time we stayed. I thought 'linens' meant bed sheets. But apparently that includes pillows and blankets, too. We did have throw blankets with us but needed to go to store in town to purchase a blanket as it was in the low 50s at night and the electric heat was not on. So be aware. Perhaps this could be stated clearer in the description, linens bed sheets, pillows, and blankets. We were left in the 'cold' on that one. :) Other than that, a pleasant stay and great location. Not as many elk this time as in previous stay. But that is part of expectation...

Elk Haven Lodge was a very nice place to stay. It was definitely a very good location. The cottage was comfortable and decently clean, the carpets need cleaning. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and provided a lot of information related to the property and the surrounding area.

Great spot to stay for Elk Viewing. Very close to all the hot spots. House was Very Clean and everything was as described.

Stayed twice and really enjoy this place. So close to all special places we live about Benezette.

Cabin was close to what we needed and had most necessities. One dish cloth and towel wasn’t enough for 3 people for a long wknd. The no towels and sheets really got us: we did pack towels at the last minute but couldn’t reach the owners for sheets once we got there. To their defense, they did include this topic in their email when we rented but after 6-8 weeks we had completely forgotten. A reminder would have been helpful. Our biggest concern was if there had been an emergency, we couldn’t have reached the owners. I messaged via the app and left a vmail but got no reply until we had returned home.

The property was exactly as advertised and perfect for what we needed. It was close to the Elk Visitor Center and other parks that we wanted to visit. We would stay at this location again.

It would be easier to get in the cabin if you had a push button code on the door instead of using a key inside a look box. We have a cabin and the door key makes it must easier. Bedroom lamps need bulbs. Great location to Benezette to go to the visitors center!. Cabin was very nice

I guess the property was as advertised but they didn’t mention all the wood and equipment lying close to the house, before getting to the old growth I was so excited about. I had messaged the owners about our arrival and never heard from them. We could not light the fireplace. It wasn’t a bad stay just not what we’d expected. The location was great, the house itself was comfortable if a wee bit chilly.

The place was nothing like the photos. A bunch of wood and equipment everywhere. No view like showed. I was disappointed.

Elk even in backyard! Fantastic! Loved everything about it!

The house was clean and well kept. The kitchen was well stocked, and had a variety of odds and ends. The gas fireplace created a warm, cozy environment, and kept up comfortable all night. It took us a bit to figure out that the unit would kick off occasionally, but would eventually come back on. My only recommendation would be to let renters know in the listing that bedding is an extra expense. This is not disclosed until after booking. Thanks for everything!

Yes, very much so enjoyed our stay. Very cleaned. My husband said Tv could be a little bigger. lol. We will be definitely looking you up next year if you have an opening when we plan to come down. Thank you!!

Buck Haven lived up to the name as we got to see a large ten point Buck and a 6x6 Bull Elk right in the yard. The lodging is quaint and cozy, perfect for a small family or couples retreat. Would happily book again in the future!! 😀

This cabin was a wonderful find! It is the perfect size for four adults and is very well stocked, furnished, and decorated to enhance the enjoyment and relaxation of the area. The cabin is immaculate and you can tell there is pride in ownership and the ability to provided a perfect stay. Our last evening there, we saw four elk across the road. Amazing! We will stay here again when we visit the area!

We've stayed here for 2 yrs now and its always busy (that time of yr) but the cabin and surroundings were beautiful! Seen a lot more Elk this yr than last yr.

We always have a great time when we visit Bennezette. And being so close to everything is awesome to. We will definitely stay here again.

Our stay at BHL was very comfortable.It had all the comforts of home but in a country setting.We were able to view the wildlife. nearby and just totally relax.The lodge was equipped with everything you could possibly need.I would highly recommend this area.There are great restaurants nearby

Just opening the door a very strong odor of musty, mildew or possible dog urine which was covered up by a strong scent of some type of air freshener or catpet treatment. The beds were comfortably but lots of squeeks. AND no bed linens or towels supplies. I obvious missed that In the instruction. The coffee cups were dirty. Outside area was junky looking.

Booked this cabin for a quick family getaway to Elk County. Owners were very responsive and provided all necessary information prior to our arrival. When we arrived everything was very clean as described. The only thing that put a damper on the beautiful view of the property were pallets of building material in the backyard. The water in the house also had a strong Sulphur smell but I attributed that to staying in the mountains. Overall we had a lovely time and were able to see lots of Elk!
