Stayed Nov 27, 2024We had a great time in this spacious house in a country setting. Not too far to Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. Perfect in between location! Very nice complimentary refreshments and snacks. The beds were comfortable and good for a large gathering.

Stayed Jun 28, 2024We stayed for a baseball tournament and were in the heat most of the days my son was playing. Being able to come back to the VRBO to cool off and sleep was impossible as the ac did not cool upstairs at all. (There was 1 bedroom downstairs that we ended up putting my 78-year-old dad in as the downstairs was cool.) The upstairs temperature was unbearable. Communication with the owner resulted in 1 portable ac unit dropped off. The unit was barely enough to cool 1 of the bedrooms let alone the additional great room & other bedroom. It would have worked best to put the unit in the large bonus room, but the window would not open and we did not want to break it. We were offered to move to another property that was 30 minutes N of where we were staying, but it would have taken time to load up everything to relocate. Also, the first morning we were there, I got up early to make biscuits and gravy for everyone before the game. When I turned on the oven, there was a very strong chemical smell that got worse and permeated the entire house. The owner was also made aware of this and offered to have someone come in to clean the oven. When I choose a rental home, I expect to have a working air conditioning system as well as a functioning oven, unless I book a tent outside. We appreciated the small refund that the owner provided, but we ended up spending more on food in lieu of an oven we planned on using. Bad way to run a VRBO!!

Stayed Apr 24, 2024Looked for place near Ross Bridge. House was functional. Plenty of room for the group. Pictures showed better than actual. Easy to check in check out. Bessemer is not a place to go to restaurants etc. house met expectations.
