It's on a long dirt road so wasn't great for motorcycles. One bed had three hairs on the sheets and one bathroom had hair in tub and one sink had dry toothpaste in sink. Ceiling fans covered in spider webs and house had 7-10 stink bugs flying around. Other than those small issues the house was clean and roomy for all 12 of us. Honestly, we were very satisfied and had a great time. The fire pit by the river was fun to sit around. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. No kids screaming thank God. I would agree that anyone of us would definitely stay again. Easy access 8 miles away to town for just about anything you'd need or want. Thanks!!!!
Very nice and relaxing. River was convenient, we tubed for hours it was the best.
The property fit us all, g
Property is very nice, hearing river running was great, lots of room, grill worked great after I got use to it. Fire pit isn't really that, location listed is West Jefferson, it isn't, some dishes were not clean, food left on them. Overall we had a great trip and the house was perfect for what we needed.
This past week was nothing shy of amazing! We were thrilled to be able to spend some time with immediate and other family members throughout the week in this wonderful cabin. The location is absolutely perfect and the house was just what we all needed for a perfect getaway from home and for us to all be together. Thank you so much for allowing us to rent out this amazing space.
Great house for getting away from it all! The New River out front provides a peaceful view, joyous listening to the water flowing, and clear, cool water to wade through. The house is bigger than it looks online, lots of rooms to explore, and very comfortable with good amenities. The porch out front was our relaxing place. We saw a black bear at dusk on the road coming in! We saw a blue heron in the river. We saw a bald eagle fly over the river each morning. Neighbors were friendly too. Thank you for a wonderful experience for all 8 of us.
Great stay: we were in the area for running events at Grayson Highlands State Park (40 mins away) Well stocked and easy to use kitchen, nice porches for lounging.
The house was large enough for our big family , but it has not been kept up and not as clean as I would have liked. To the right of the main entrance was quite a bit of trash strewn around and a broken bird bath . The floors seemed to have not been swept and lots of dust everywhere. There were mouse droppings in the downstairs closet. The furniture was older and marked up. Only one pot holder in the entire house, very few spoons and no small bowls for children. We have rented a few over the years and this was the most disappointing.
First impressions were not to good. Upon arrival the house had alive and dead lady bugs all over, the fire place was full of ash even though the guestbook said it would be clean. The most disturbing was the comforter in one of the rooms did not seem to be cleaned. So after a long drive we had to “clean.” I did contact the after hours line who offered to send someone over to clean, which we declined as we just settled in 3 families and had already started cleaning. After the initial clean up we did enjoy our stay. The house is large and has plenty of room. Plenty of pots and pans to cook with. Make sure you bring dish soap, laundry soap and toilet paper. No kurig only regular coffee pot. We had to make quite a few trips to the store which was not to far away. We enjoyed the river, fire pit is at the river, the river is closer than what the photos in the listing make it appear. We were surprised with beautiful snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. Suggestions for the owners would be to upgrade the beds and furniture. It’s extremely outdated. I don’t expect new but did expect more current and more comfortable for the price.
Just as described and so much wildlife. The perfect place to get some peace!
