Morgantown, Indiana
Prepare to relish the meandering drive that leads to Cliff Creek Cabin. A little off the beaten path, you’ll be happy to have reserved this commodious cabin with a huge deck with picnic tables overlooking a cute little frog pond and a firepit. While the owners do not live close by, they do come to the horse barn next door but your enjoyment of Cliff Creek Cabin is very important to them…and of course, mutual respect for their privacy and property is appreciated, as well.
The main level has plenty of space to entertain…guests will surely enjoy the big kitchen with seating around the island. There’s even a wine cooler to chill your favorite brand of beer or bottle of bubbly. Two dining tables make it easy to feed a crowd, whether you’ve cooked up a holiday-style feast or brought in several big pizza boxes to spread out. A big flat screen TV/DVD and sofas mean everybody has a prime spot to watch a movie or sporting event. There’s a bedroom on the main level with a king bed for the lucky person who calls first dibs. A full bath just off the hall completes the main floor’s accommodations. The open-concept floorplan of the living/dining area has the interesting bonus of a cool spiral staircase that takes you to the upper level, where you’ll find two loft bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two queen sized beds plus an adjoining bathroom on this level. This spacious bathroom has a separate tub, plus a big walk-in shower, too.
The basement level of Cliff Creek boasts a big lounge area that’s set up for anyone who wants to chill out a while with a book, or maybe engage in a heart-to-heart conversation with their BFF. Another big living area on this level has a pool table so you can play games apart from the upstairs activities. One more bedroom (with a queen bed) and full bathroom on this lower level ensures that everybody has a comfortable sleeping spot after a day of Brown County adventure.
Don't forget the bubbling hot tub on the deck! Bring your poles and fish in the 1-acre pond where for 2 species of bluegills, crappies and bass. Catch and release fishing.
There’s certainly enough to keep you entertained at Cliff Creek Cabin…but if you decide to wander away in search of other fun things to do and places to explore…you have options. Lake Lemon is only 5 minutes from your cabin; and Yellowwood State Forest is just a short hop by car. Brown County State Park has horse trails, hiking trails, and mountain bike trails on which to test your athletic prowess, or you can play golf, ride a zip-line or ATV, pan for gold, or ride in a horse-drawn carriage, as well. Brown County is the woodland playground of Indiana. Make a reservation so that you can experience it all and create some great memories that will last a lifetime.
All our cabins have a 3 night minimum for Major Holidays.
The Good: The cabin is beautiful. The structure is lovely! The management company responded quickly to the question I had before booking. The Not So Good: Lots of food and crumbs in the furniture, gross. The bathroom on the bottom floor was not cleaned. Clearly urine splatter in the toilet, and there were black things in it (looked like cigarette butts). The cabin is dated, and you can tell that repairs were made with haste, as things don’t line up. I understand it’s a rental, but for the price, things should be better maintained. The pictures show a fire pit and a pond. When you get to the rental, the book states that the pond and bonfire areas are off limits. We stay in Nashville at least once a year. This place is “okay,”but we will not stay here again.
