Stayed Mar 16, 2023Great location and everything we needed! Louis was very attentive to our needs. We have a daughter in a wheelchair and his place was very accessible (one small step, which he offered to accommodate with a ramp, but we didn’t need this trip). The listing was accurate and the property was great. We would come back for future stays!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We had a wonderful stay at Louis’ Big Bear chalet last week. My husband and I took our 11-year-old son and our teenage niece for a short end-of-summer vacation, and it was such a treat to stay there. From start to finish, Louis was communicative, helpful, and friendly; unintrusively checking in on us each day to make sure everything was going well. He was always available by phone if we had questions or needed any local recommendations. We found the chalet to be clean, relaxing, and cozy. From the spacious furnished front deck, pretty landscaping and cute seasonal creek running through the property, to the comfortable couches and wood burning fireplace, well-equipped kitchen, family-sized dining table, indoor washer and dryer, and two comfortable queen beds; we were often content just hanging out at the chalet. We also appreciated all the extras that Louis provides for his guests. There were extra towels and linens, a futon and rollaway to compliment the queen beds, a relaxing hammock, an outdoor gas grill, a wide variety of kitchenware and cooking spices, and a generous bowl of snack items waiting for us on the table. There is a smart TV in the living room and books and interesting magazines to peruse. There were even scented candles provided for guests to enjoy. The chalet is close to many shops and outdoor activities. Located toward the east end of Big Bear City, on the outskirts of the beautiful Moonridge community, there are two major grocery stores about a mile away, along with a Starbucks and a variety of food and retail shops. The Big Bear Snow Play facility is within walking distance as are miles of easy biking and walking trails, easily accessed directly from the property. The Village, Big Bear Lake, kayak rentals, fishing, Bear Valley/Snow Summit, horseback trail riding– just about everything you might want to do up there can be reached in a few minutes by car. Louis clearly takes pride in maintaining and managing his chalet for the comfort and enjoyment of his guests. We cannot wait to come back again and again!
