Nice visit to PA for parents weekend. House was fine, could have been cleaner. Some challenges with electronics (tv didn't work) and cleanliness (grill in bad shape), but a nice house. Very expensive, given location, but fun to be had with a group.
The property was very nice. We had a group of about 23 including grandparents (4), parents (8) other adults (5) and kids ranging in age from 5 to 17 (6). The listing indicates that the house sleeps up to 25, which is a bit misleading, in our view. We were fine with air mattresses and couches, but it would more comfortably accomodate 15 to 20 guests in terms of bedroom space. It would be a bit more flexible if a few of the couches were fold-out in a couple of the common areas, However, we made it work, and had a great time. Our interaction with our host was OK, but there was some confusion after our initial deposit was paid. When we went back to settle our headcount and second payment, we were initially told that our reservaton could not be located, which was obviously a source of concern. Also, upon arrival we had not received (via email or text) our check-in instructions, including our entry code for the front door. We later learned that the door is designed not to accept the code until the precise check-in time, which is understandable; however, since we were not advised of this in advance, we waited outside in 91 degree heat, attempting to text and/or email the host to obtain the code for nearly 40 minutes. The host later apologized for the failure to communicate those instructions, and waived a small charge for a few last-minute additional guests, so that was appreciated, Bottom line: great time, but some communication and description could be improved.
This house was perfect for our large extended family getaway! There are lots of different living/sleeping/recreational areas in the house, so there was something for everyone. The house is very well-stocked, and the views from the main room are gorgeous. The property owner was easy to reach and very responsive. Highly recommend!
Walker Lake was the perfect spot for a reunion of college sorority sisters who hadn't gathered for many years! The surrounding area is exquisitely beautiful and the home had great spaces to relax and enjoy the company of dear friends!
Excellent accomodations, our group had a lovely weekend stay in a beautiful house, in a most serene setting. Couldn't ask for more, I wouldn't change a thing.
While this place has some very pretty features our list of cons outweighed the pros…: No tv because of no internet, property manager only communicates “at the time” so with our service that makes it difficult. Cover blows off hot tub because clips are all broken, constantly putting it back on to keep the temperature useable. Pillows were terribly hard, king beds were uncomfortable. Kitchen was certainly not well stocked if you are preparing food for your stay. No trash cans in bedrooms Coffee area was very nice. The views were wonderful. The nice big kitchen table was wonderful for all of us to sit and enjoy meals together. The outside deck was nice to hang out on.
Our stay at Walker Lake was fantastic!! Plenty of room, first class amenities, great communication from the owner. The only issue we had was internet service and GPS directions. If we trusted old fashion sign reading...we would of been fine but....we followed GPS that took us down a private drive. Four drivers (cars) made the same mistake...but all good! Soon forgotten after we walked in the foyer!
