Stayed Mar 29, 2024We had a fantastic stay at the Alpen Haus! We stayed 3 nights and 4 days! Pros : ~awesome communication with house owner and house property management. Quick response times and answered all our questions! ~the house set up is great! nice hot tub and game room on the bottom floor was great! ~SO close to bear mountain resort and zoo! We got stuck at bear mountain and thankfully, was able to walk back bc it was so close! ~a lil sledding slope in the yard! house has sleds... we were snowed in on sunday so this was a great activity for the kids! ~beds were super comfy! Cons : ~the upstairs / downstairs heating system is all connected but much stronger on the top floor. THe smallest room upstairs gets the warmest! ( I highly recommend sleeping downstairs if u prefer colder weather... it was my favorite room! ) ~the house is kind of dark, even with all the lights on ( kitchen, living room, dining room ).. but it was great in the day time with all the curtains open. Overall, most def will stay here again! Great cabin-y feeling with the perks! Just a side note, there were a lot of coyotes out Monday Morning. It was very cool to watch ( from inside the house ) but of course, just be careful!

Stayed Feb 18, 2023We were so happy to find this space available only a few weeks in advance of a holiday weekend. We traveled with family, 8 adults, a preteen, and 2 small children (aged 2 & 4). The space and house were great, plenty of room and beds for everyone. There is one bedroom downstairs and a game room. The other bedrooms and main living spaces are upstairs. Shower in the king bathroom needs an upgrade or a deep clean. The location was perfect, super close to Bear Mountain (walkable). There was also an awesome space behind the house that had a great sledding hill! Our little ones loved it and those of us who weren’t snowboarding/skiing spent a lot of time just hanging back there watching our kiddos sled and play in the snow. Overall, great spot for a family and we would return.
