The Vineyard Mansion was built, in 1890, by the famed architectural firm of Eckel and Mann for B. R. Vineyard, a prominent attorney in St. Joseph, MO. Although divided into apartments in the 1940's, this Romanesque Revival style mansion has been meticulously restored back to its original use. We are proud to offer the Lincoln Room, a unique alternative to a hotel room, offering the privacy and comfort of a home away from home, enveloped in the grandeur and elegance of the Gilded Age.

The spacious Lincoln Room features original, hardwood floors, a queen-size canopy bed, seating area, fireplace, and en suite bathroom. Additionally, the room is filled with beautiful, antique furnishings, hardware, and treasures, as well as period-appropriate art.

Guests of the Vineyard Mansion enjoy access to the public areas of the main house, including the parlor, dining room, kitchen, and foyer, as well as the gardens/grounds.

Breakfast is self-serve, so feel free to go to the kitchen any time you want. We stock breakfast items and coffee in the food pantry off the kitchen, please help yourself. We stock yogurt, juices, eggs, cheese, almond milk, etc. in the refrigerator so please don’t be shy and help yourself. If you would like to make yourself a special breakfast by-all-means do so. We try to create a home away from home with the way we do things here, so if you want to make dinner or cookies go right ahead.

If you want privacy or interaction we can accommodate both. We are also happy to provide guests with a brief tour and history of the property.

The Vineyard Mansion is located in the Museum Hill Historic District of St Joseph, MO. This neighborhood is full of homes and mansions all built in the late 1800's, with walking tours and the St. Joseph Museum directly across the street.

The Vineyard Mansion is within walking-distance of several restaurants, bars, event centers, historic sites, and museums.

The Vineyard Mansion is 11,000 sq ft of building area. We are still in the process of restoration and are offering discounted room rates at a restoration special. So if you like to see the work in progress this is the place for you.

We love Victorian homes, have restored 2 myself. They are in restoration phase, still working on it. Doing a pretty nice job. Was heartsick at the neighborhood. Not the Vineyard Mansions issue, but all the homes that are falling apart, boarded up, wasting away it just hurts to see.

The setup was incredibly welcoming and homey. The downstairs was full of character and the room was comfortable with a beautiful, and updated, bathroom. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and highly recommend.

The Vineyard Mansion is beautiful!. The Lincoln room is spacious. Was very curious how breakfast was going to be handled... It worked very well. The frig and freezer is well stocked as well as the non- refrigerated items. Plenty of variety. It was nice to chat with the other guests. Will stay again if we're ever in the area.

The vineyard mansion was exactly as advertised. Walking through the home felt like going back in time. Everywhere you looked was something beautiful. The bed was comfortable, and the room spacious. We had a lot of fun shooting pool and hanging out. Would definitely stay again.

If you want to see old St. Joe and be able to walk around and look at mansions, this is a great location. The building is a great example of how things were built back then, and we don't see any of that nowadays.

Once again, a lovely stay in a classic Victorian style home fantastically appointed, well accommodated with amenities and a well stocked kitchen. Owner and manager alike are very communicative (though we had no needs this visit). Check in and out extremely smooth.

We’ve stayed here twice now. The first stay was a little cleaner last October and with it being a different season of the year it was already warm then. When we arrived this time the entire room breaker was switched and it was super muggy in our room. After a short time we were able to contact the on site contact and she got us rocking. The facility itself is unique and we’d stay again. Only complaints was it appears to been a rush cleaning and a deep one in quite a while.
