Great place with plenty of room for the large extended family… and dogs. WiFi worked well as did the smart TVs. Dogs loved running in the fields and woods. liked that there was a fire already prepared with extra wood stacked nearby. We tried Martha’s Kitchen (across the street) and Trojan Grill (great draft beer selection and Acoustic guitarist)! An excellent value for comfortable lodging if you find yourself the area.
A group of 8 adults, 1 toddler, and 1 guide dog for my visually impaired mother all fit into this very cozy historical home. The whole place is gorgeous, the grounds have multiple outdoor seating areas (fire pit, a gazebo area, a deck area with a full seating arrangement etc.) and the grounds are lovely and go on for acres. There is a cozy little dinner directly across the street that we definitely stopped into. This place is less than 30 mins to Busch Gardens and/or Williamsburg (we did both and I drove). All the beds were so so comfy and had plenty of warm blankets and pillows. The tea service area on both floors had everything we needed for a hot coffee or tea throughout the day (and we had many haha). The living room area cozily accommodated all of us as we opened our Christmas presents, watched football, and gathered around Christmas movies. The owners are amazing, welcoming, and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. For instance, not only is my mom blind, but she recently hurt her foot and was wearing a boot. I never said anything or asked anything but they shifted things around to make sure the ground floor room was open for us! It was such an amazing gesture to make sure we were all taken care of. The house itself has so much history and the decor was all these incredible originals and antiques! I felt almost like I'd been allowed to stay inside one of the colonial Williamsburg homes and to touch all of it up close! It was Hallmark Christmas perfect.
The Vaiden Inn offered us an opportunity to relax and reconnect as a family for a weekend. The accomodations were extremely comfortable for the 6 of us and had all of the amenities of home. We did walk around the property before it started raining. Any American history enthusiast would really enjoy this location. The house and the grounds are simply amazing. It's too bad we couldn't stay longer than a weekend...there's always next time! -The Perez Family
So fun.
The Inn was just what we were looking for. It was liking stepping back in time. Perfect location and accommodated our family of 7. House was decorated for Christmas. Santa was able to come down the chimney with the grandson gifts. Even though we only had the kitchenet we where still able to cook most of our meals. Jess was a true angel when a family emergency arrived. I highly recommend staying at The Vaiden Inn.
Easy access off of I64. Brought 2 Golden Retrievers that loved the 8 acres of freedom! Great indoor and outdoor space. 5 deer checked us out on our return from Williamsburg. Martha's Kitchen and Trojan Grill were great restaurants!
We had a great time staying at the Vaiden Inn! We (two families of four, adults and children), just spent my son's 7th birthday at the inn so we'd be in close proximity for a day at Busch Gardens. The home was large, convenient, and well appointed. The host was helpful and accessible. Thanks!
My family and I were in town for a wedding and this was the perfect location for our long weekend getaway. I appreciated Jess’s patience as I had a ton of questions and just wanted to find a cute place to stay and relax. This felt like home and honestly we would have stayed for a whole week if our schedules allowed!! We can’t wait to come back!!
We really enjoyed our stay at Vaiden Inn. We were close enough to Williamsburg for a very easy day trip. The property is beautiful, and Jess has it so nicely appointed!!!!
We all had such a lovely time staying at this historic Inn! The included amenities were so helpful such as the coffee bar, water cooler, and ice maker. We went to Martha’s Kitchen which was right across the street twice, as they were so good! Jess was super nice and gave us all the information we needed and checked in on us. We all wish we had had more time to enjoy the property such as the outside seating area and fire pit, but we spent quite a bit of time away while visiting Busch Gardens. I would highly recommend this location for any larger group wanting to enjoy a unique stay while enjoying the area.
It was perfect for what we needed as a small group who wanted to stay together during our quick weekend trip. The property was a convenient drive to Busch Gardens! Jess was great to deal with, constantly checking in on us to make sure we didn’t need anything.
Exactly what I was hoping it would be!
My family and I loved staying at this house. It was spacious and clean and had everything we needed and wanted in a vacation home. The hostess was very easy to get in touch with and she went above and beyond to make our vacation perfect
It's a comfy, quiet Inn located about a 1/2 hour from Busch Gardens. It's a lovely historic place. Even though there are buildings around it's so quiet, it took us a little getting used to as we're not used to it being that quiet. Jess is a wonderful host. She is very responsive to any messages and fixes any issues asap. The Inn has plenty of space for a family. The tv's are all streaming or over the air broadcast. I thought there was satellite on 1 tv but didn't have it, no big deal we made things work. We didn't use the lighted patio or firepit. The AC keeps the place very cool. We had a very nice time there.
Nice stop for us on the way to Virginia/Sandbridge beach. Stayed for 2 nights, easy drive to Williamsburg/Busch Gardens. Historic, clean home, a step back in time, but still with good wifi and water pressure in the shower. Nice restaurant directly across the street. Thanks
We had a great time staying here and would definitely stay here again! Thanks for the wonderful experience.
This is a wonderful gem of a home - perfect for groups who enjoy outdoor cooking. The propane was provided and that was much appreciated. We also brought our own lump charcoal and used booth grills. The family loved the outdoor patio seating with party lights for outdoor dining.
