The house is absolutely beautiful. Sitting on the porch to relax was so peaceful. Coming from a busy life it was a dream to sit and breathe. Barry and Cassandra are extremely nice and so welcoming. I am already planning another trip.
Before we arrived at the property there were already slight irritation with the lack of communication. I requested the check in process as we planned to arrive around 3am, and didn't receive a reply until after I had called the number provided multiple times which automatically when to voicemail each time, as well as contacting vrbo directly. After we arrived, the next morning we woke up to the power being out, no breakfast, and our room below 35 degrees. We were understanding of the power outage due to the old house and location of the town, but no other properties next to and around the house were out of power, which was very strange. Unfortunately we ended up cutting our stay short and opting to stay with relatives, less then two blocks away who had power as well as hot water.
This was a lovely place to stay only a two block walk from downtown. Two blocks down was a super yummy Mexican restaurant and some delicious breakfast/brunch eateries to choose from. The owner Barry is really nice and was very hospitable during my stay. He checked in with me throughout my visit and made sure that everything was going well. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a quiet respite from the rest of the world.
Great location in Monticello, Fl less than an hour from FSU. Charming bnb convenient to great restaurants in town and a nice trail walk to the Indian Mounds. Sitting out on the porch with a drink in hand was the greatest. The hoast was the best.
Great place to stay away from the bustle of the city but super easy and quick trip in when needed. Very quiet, super comfy, and a beautiful spot to recharge.
Great location in town and full of charm. The house is full of history and character.
This was a wonderfully relaxing place to spend a few days. Beautiful grounds. long wide porches for rocking, reading, and enjoying nature. Quaint downtown Shops, restaurants and bakery are a short easy walk away. Out host, Barry, made us feel right at home. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is looking to shed some stress and escape the fast paced hub-bub of a typical work week.
