My family and I travel to texas for the Thanksgiving holiday to arrive at the vrbo we booked to stay to find the property was poorly taken care and very dirty. Tryed calling and text the host for almost two hours. As i was getting no answer or reply. At this time i reached out to vrbo for help as i didnt want to stay in a place that was dirty. As it was getting later in the afternoon i started looking for hotels in the area not much to choose from as it was two day before Thanksgiving finally found a hotel. As i was leaving the property the host decided to return my phone call almost 3 hours later. At this time i informed her about what we found i also sent picture and see still denies it being dirty clalms she just cleaned it so i asked for a refund do to me not feeling comfortable and safe in the property and have been fighting to get my money back

The owners were fabulous! They left us a whole bowl of goodies and waters in the fridge. The place was super clean!! We were in town for a wedding, so we basically just used the place to sleep, but it was super cozy. The beds were comfortable and literally any toiletries you could think of that you would need, they provided. It was almost like we were staying at a friend’s house. The only negative was that they do allow pets, so if you have allergies, it’s something to consider. However, all we had to do was move the rugs out of the bedroom during our stay and it didn’t bother us anymore. It is a little far out there, but so worth the stay! It was quiet and private and overall just lovely!

Think cute city apartment meets your grandma's country cottage! We brought our pontoon boat and our puppy to get away to the lake for our anniversary and this place was perfect. A lot of personal touches that made us feel so welcome! Also, it was extremely clean. I want to be clear about a few things up front. The location is on a dirt road about 2 miles from the lake. We loved the quiet and the lack of lake front mosquitoes, but I saw the last review did not like the location. Google map it first to make sure it is the area you are looking for. There is not a lot of shopping or fancy restaurants near by. More icehouses than steak houses. Livingston has some nice places, but that is about 30 minutes away. The owners were very friendly, but also respected our privacy. They helped us get our boat situated and told us the best spots to put it into the lake. They felt like friendly neighbors. Finally, the phone service can be limited inside the house. I loved this, because we wanted a weekend off the grid anyways. There is wifi, but we didn't try it. I just walked outside if I needed to make a call. This is just a heads up to those who are overly attached to their phones. Overall, we loved this spot and plan to take the kids this summer for a few days. We felt dsfe, comfortable and relaxed the whole weekend!

Though the property is out of the way and not super easy to find, it is a lovely little space with all the basic comforts. The owner is very responsive to any needs, and you can even schedule meal service with her if you like. There is fabulous A/C inside and a welcoming fire pit out front to enjoy. You also have your choice of a futon in the living room, a super soft queen bed, and a nice firm king bed. Make sure to look for the red barn-like home on the property, since we got confused and went to the main house :)
