Along with the Hyde House, the Primrose House is one of the oldest homes in Nelsonville, adding to the historical allure of the area.

When you step inside, you’ll immediately notice the gorgeous oak trim, gleaming hardwood floors, and intricate stained-glass transoms that adorn the windows. The original kitchen cabinets with marble countertops and the antique stove/oven maintain the home's historic character while offering a glimpse into its rich past. The atmosphere of the home invites relaxation, whether you're enjoying a peaceful moment in the sitting room playing chess, or soaking in the ambiance of the beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces.

Our outdoor spaces are just as inviting as the interior, with patios, decks, and a stunning botanical backyard garden where guests can unwind. Whether you're sipping a cup of tea or enjoying a meal from a local restaurant, the garden provides the perfect setting for a tranquil escape.

The neighborhood is quiet and the property was decently maintained. The bed in our bedroom was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The hostess is not gifted with hospitality but she was very nice.

Jennifer was our host for the weekend and did all the cooking. She even came in on Memorial Day and cooked us breakfast when she didn't have to! Our room was very clean and right off the main hallway. Had a great time and met some wonderful couples over breakfast. Didn't hang around the property much as we were very busy in the area. Next time we would use the hot tub which we didn't notice until we were leaving. The only odd thing is having to pickup the keys at the local Outdoor Adventure Pro shop in town, but it all worked out Ok. We had a wonderful time exploring the Hocking Hills region and would come back to this property in the future.

Quiet, Clean, convenient location to hocking and Athens, all amenities were included, breakfast was great. Although we were in a house with others, we had our quiet space, and the house was lovely.

It was nice the girl who made the breakfast was friendly and the food was good. The room was very spacious and nice.We missed the email about check in so the check in was different than what we normally do. Thankfully, our phone call was answered immediately and they told us what to do to get checked in.

We would definitely stay again! Fun experience but the hot tub was unfortunately not working on the property but they allowed us to go across the street and use the other property’s and the door knob to our room was a pain but overall a good stay.

We really enjoyed our stay! Everyone was super friendly and good about communicating. Jen did an amazing job cooking for all of us and keeping the bed and breakfast clean. It was only disappointing in that we had the room booked for a few weeks, and someone who booked the night before accidentally got our room and we were the ones who had to change to a different one. Mistakes happen and it was not a huge deal to me at all. We still liked the room we ended up in a lot! The jacuzzi was also really nice. I loved that just a block over were really good restaurant selections too, and the property manager gave us really good recommendations for activities! I would stay here again or recommend to others.

We knew registration was at a different location. Unfortunately, once we discovered that wi-go didn’t work, the management company was closing. I placed two phone calls about it: I spoke with “Emma” the first time who promised to call me back. That didn’t happen so I called again an hour later and had to leave a message. No one EVER called me back. Listing states there will be shampoo provided. This is inaccurate. Breakfast is provided. It is an adequate breakfast. A refrigerator is in the common kitchen.

Spent one night here as it was a half way point to our final destination. Quaint over 100 year old historical building. We pretty much had the place to ourselves as no one but guests stay on the property. Other guests arrived after midnight but we never saw them. Walkable distance to small downtown with several bars and restaurants. Morning breakfast was usual fare but could have been kept a little warmer. In fact since there was only the two of us, the cook should consider made to order eggs, etc. She was however very friendly and informative. Sat on the large front porch for a bit which was nice. Neighborhood seems to be somewhat run down. Overall the price was lower than staying in a hotel and we stayed in a unique property.
