Put this property at the top of your list. It was amazing, clean, accessible and the owner was very nice. Wait until you see the view!!! We had a wonderful time and it was so private. Every detail was perfect. It was close to the town of Blanca and a little farther north was Alamosa. I will visit this property again!

We were pleasantly surprised by the interior space—the pictures don’t do it justice. It is “out there,” probably 5 miles from Blanca, mostly over stone roads. There were no restaurants open in Blanca so eat in Fort Garland or Alamosa or plan to eat out of your cooler. A microwave and small fridge would be welcome additions, otherwise we were very pleased with the accommodation and Sue’s hospitality.

This remarkable off-grid property offered us a secluded entrance separate from the owner's main home, featuring a comfortable queen bed and a spacious ensuite bathroom. Although Sue had installed solar lights near the house for nighttime navigation, they had no impact on the stunning clarity of the night skies throughout the weekend. These pristine conditions allowed me to seize breathtaking moments capturing the Milky Way and Star Trails above the majestic Blanca Mountain. And while the property lacked a kitchen, we ingeniously improvised by utilizing camping gear to heat our meals, ensuring our culinary needs were met during our stay. Thank you for a lovely stay, Sue!

I highly recommend this place, visit Zapata Falls, take water shoes, not flip flops, and make sure you go all the way in to the cave to see the second (or is it the first) section of the fall. It's beautiful. Go see the dunes, take a red lantern and see the stars. Visit the mission churches of the valley, and try the fudge shots at the All Gone Cafe. We've really enjoyed our 7 day stay here, we had a few things break, and the owner had someone out to repair them faster than you can usually get someone in the city. It's been very pleasant, the bathtub is very nice and a pleasant place to loll around in during the hottest (85°F) part of the day. It's beautiful here, there are feral horses, pronghorns, rabbits and a few loose cattle roaming. But here are some things you should know about this rental. There is no stove, refrigerator, or kitchen in general. There is a coffee maker. And a good quality ice chest, bring your own ice of course. There is a security system and video monitoring, and motion activated flood lights, which makes star gazing a little hard. There is no A/C. The windows are all sealed so if you're expecting to be able to have a cross breeze in the afternoons, it's not going to happen. (There are dust storms, so this is to help keep the place clean) This place is off grid, so there is a limited amount of power, while we never ran out of power even just before sunrise, we didn't push the system. We charged our 2 phones and our headphones, and a laptop. The lights only flickered when the water pressurizer switched on during showers. The water pressure is great by the way, and the water was always hot. There is a gas stove heater which we never needed, so didn't try. You are getting a bed room and large bathroom attached to a house, it's like staying in a nice hotel room (all the same amenities, except no daily house cleaning)

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Beautiful view of the mountains and we had wild horses come through behind the house one morning. We didn't realize there wasn't a frig but had ice in our coolers. We had leftovers we brought along so some plastic silverware would have been helpful. The bed was a little small for us. We are not large people but have king size bed at home. We hiked along the country roads and enjoyed not having close neighbors. Overall, I would highly recommend this property.
