Stayed Sep 14, 2025Aldo was a great host. he was quick to respond to questions and was very gracious. We loved the property, especially the outdoor terrace. A lot of steps to get up there, but definitely worth it! The location was great with a lot of nice shops and near the Spanish steps.I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed Jun 4, 2023Our family of 4 stayed here and we absolutely loved it. The patio was lovely and the host was there to greet us. He was easily reachable when we had questions. The location is perfect and great for walking. 5 flights of steps up, but worth the climb!!

Stayed Nov 28, 2022The location is amazing. Quick walk to many wonderful places to dine! We walked almost everywhere except the Vatican. Its is a charming apartment for a short stay. The towels and sheets need to be replaced desperately. The shower leaks upstairs and towels had to be used to soak up leaking. The downstairs bathroom never had hot water. The apartment would be 5 stars with updated bathrooms and linens! Easy to fix! otherwise its lovely.

Stayed Oct 10, 2022The location of this apartment is one if its best features. It is located a few minutes walk from Piazza Di Poppolo, Borghese park and a short walk to the Spanish steps and the main shopping streets. There are endless places to stroll to down the many side streets and smaller piazzas. Around every corner one can find a charming restaurant or small shop with items local to Rome. The main shopping streets, Babuino and Corso have the highest of high end shopping along with more reasonable stores. In the evening the streets fill with Roman families out for a stroll before their meal. The apartment is located in a lovely building with a charming courtyard. The apartment itself is large with a nice outdoor deck. It is on the fifth floor and no elevator so be prepared. Not an issue once you get your bags up to the apartment the first time. The bathrooms need updating. They aren’t terrible but probably the least admirable features of the apartment. The beds are comfortable though the sheets could be replaced with newer ones. Overall, it is a charming place with lots of Italian touches. A few tweaks and this would be a fabulous place because of the location. The apartment is a ‘B’. The location is an ‘A+’.

Stayed Sep 6, 2022My wife and I stayed at 51 Via Babuino for a three and a half weeks stay(September 6, 2022 through October 1, 2022). We were extremely pleased with the property and the professionalism of the host and building staff throughout our stay. We arrived from NYC after flying overnight and were met in the courtyard by the building attendant who kindly insisted on helping us carry our bags upstairs. Our landlord (Aldo) greeted us and showed us the property. A second building attendant brought us a welcoming appertivo and bottle of northern Italian sparkling wine. We appreciated the warm gesture. Aldo is very proud of his property and the city of Rome and emailed us dining, touring and drinking suggestions that were not found in the common guidebooks, etc. Aldo kindly let us know to contact him if we needed any administrative assistance during our visit. We took him up on his offer and he arranged a driver for a trip to a vineyard and for a friend’s trip to the airport. Because our stay was long we requested to have the apartment cleaned each week. The cleaning, which included a change of sheets and towels, occurred exactly as scheduled and was excellently done. The property is beautiful. Via Babuino is a very elegant street that runs from Piazza Del Poppolo to Piazza Espagna. The courtyard and stairway are beautiful. The apartment is on the top floor (requiring a walk up four flights). The apartment consists of a main floor (kitchen, dining area, bedroom with bathroom), a second floor (open loft with bedroom, reading area and bathroom). The highlight of the property for us was the roof deck that has partial views Villa Medici. We enjoyed many meals and night caps on the roof deck. In reference to other recent reviews, the furniture is not new or the most comfortable but we found it fitting (expected) for the historic charming property. We did not encounter any water leaks so it appears any prior issue has been resolved.

Stayed Jul 2, 2022We stayed for 3 nights in this beautiful palazzo in early July. The owner was delightful to work with and the property manager (wonderwheretostay) was really easy to get in touch with by email in advance of our trip. All the payments were done in advance. Nothing was due in cash as maybe some of the previous reviews mentioned. They helped us book transfers to and from the airport, which was helpful when there was an unexpected 2 day taxi strike. The apartment itself looks mostly like the pictures. The patio is large but does not have the table and flowers shown in the picture. It was nice and quiet out there. The red couch and the two blue chairs are very tired and sink in when you sit on them to the point where you can feel the frame. You'll need to have your own toiletries as well. The beds were really great. And the AC worked well during the hot days. We enjoyed the location. It is a quick walk up the street to the taxi stand or over to the metro station. The Spanish Steps are just down the street. Two nearby restaurants were fantastic - Edy and Babette. The owner is really kind and offered a lot of great information on the area including things to do and places to eat. He lives onsite in another part of the large palazzo. I believe he said his family has been living there for over 250 years! The apartment has some of the old family furnishings and art work. Really nice. It is important to know he is not associated with wonderwheretostay. I did not realize that and we had a slight mixup about our return car to the airport. Not to worry - wonderwheretostay was excellent! This was our 4th trip to Rome. I think my favorite area is still the Camp di Fiori, but this was a delightful and quiet place to stay that I would recommend to others.
