Wooded Heights River Retreat with Hot Tub/Pet friendly

We were so impressed with how adorable and clean Dave and Gloria’s property was. We 100% recommend staying at their property, the most kindest host we’ve ever had!

Home away from home feeling! We came for a Valentine's day weekend get away and the hosts set up lovely decorations and had our names personalized on the welcome sign including our dogs. Can't wait to stay again during warmer weather. Very clean, quiet and cozy. Hut tub and river views are amazing. The overall property vibes and decorations are very well done. :)

I had a great time. The location of this is great if you are planning a trip to Schweitzer. The place was warm and cozy and had everything we needed for a short trip. The place was clean and the hosts make sure you have all the information about Sandpoint and the surrounding area. We came in January but the place would also be amazing in the summer.

Good quality funishings but security camera pointing at the hot tub is against vrbo policy. Did not feel like we had privacy, listing was deceptive as it does not explain host is in the house 20 ft away, and hot tub, beach access is through their yard. Host watched us out the window. No list available of where cameras are. Also vrbo policy. Not worth the price

We enjoyed our stay in this cozy apartment! Hosts were very welcoming and invited us to share their bonfire on a wonderful fall evening. The kitchen was stocked just right so we could cook our meals. Great wifi and TV options, comfortable bed, and luxurious shower!

This place is a gem and we would love to go back! It's very cozy and comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the hot tub and being able to meet Dave and Gloria. Only an hour drive from our house so hopefully we can stay again sometime!

As described, interior has even been updated since the pictures, very clean and guest friendly. Lots of entertainment options, peaceful location with good water access, and hosts were very nice.

We came for a soccer tournament & the property was great for the short commute to Sandpoint. Unfortunately we couldn't enjoy the water as much as we would have liked to but our dog had a great time swimming in the mornings before heading to soccer.

Our stay at River retreat was amazing! Gloria and Dave have thought of every detail to make your stay perfect! It was one of the best VRBO that we stayed at! I wish we had more time there, but it was at the end of our trip and we left early to get home! Their River view that they share with you is amazing! Next time I am coming back to stay longer and kayak!

It is an absolutely gorgeous property right on the lake. Hosts were fantastic. Lodgings were comfortable. From the pictures on the website, we thought the lake was right below us but it was below the main house across from us. But it was in short hike down to the lake. They offer paddle boards, kayaks and even a canoe to use, if you like. The lake was so warm, so swimming was lovely. The hosts are so accommodating and friendly. This place feel less like a rental and more like a friend let you stay in their guest house. We were visiting for a concert in Sandpoint and it was a quick 15 minute drive down the hill to the venue. I recommend staying here if you are in the area.

Great kitchen and shower in the unit. Amazing location with amazing amenities on the lake. The family loved it.

Went for the Sanpoint Music Festival. The concert was great and the retreat was even better. The host was very accommodating and the place has everything you would need for the weekend. We spent most of the second day of our trip just hanging out on the dock and swimming. The diving board on the dock was a huge plus and they have underwater lights to swim with at night. Couldn't say anything better about this property, the hosts were very welcoming and fun to talk to, and you can't beat the views. 10/10 would recommend to any small family or couple wanting to get away for the weekend.

We were warmly welcomed upon arrival with soft music playing and the calming scent of essential oils, which immediately set a peaceful and inviting tone. The home was beautifully prepared with many thoughtful details throughout—it's clear the hosts genuinely care about creating a comfortable and enjoyable stay for their guests. We especially appreciated the clean and well-maintained hot tub, and the paddleboards were a fantastic bonus that allowed us to experience the river in a unique and fun way.A couple of small notes for future guests: we found the thermostat a bit tricky to navigate, and it may not have been heating or cooling as efficiently as expected. Additionally, since we brought our two dogs, we noticed insect or rodent traps in the laundry area. While we understand and respect the need for pest control, it could be helpful to ensure these are placed in a way that’s less accessible to pets, just as a precaution.Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we would absolutely return!

Really enjoyed our stay. Quiet, Went for walks, Hot tubbing and enjoyed outdoor fire pit!

The choice of music station that was playing when we arrived was perfect. The rest of the stay was awesome too.

Dave & Gloria have a wonderful little place on the river! Tons of amenities, super quiet, and close to town!! Will for sure come back in the summer.

Very cute hideaway with amazing views of the night skies

Very well maintained, beautiful view.

We had the best time. The leaves were changing, the dock/yard was so pleasant to relax in, our dogs LOVED swimming and running around the property. Gloria and her husband were so kind and made excellent suggestions. We look forward to coming back this winter to ski, and hopefully next summer too!

We had amazing hosts, their home is lovely, the suite was lovely! They take amazing care and pride in their home. The only word of warning is to be comfortable driving ! The road to their home is pretty amazing. Their driveway is a little steep also, will take a confident driver the view and dock and diving board are 10/10. The house shower was amazing. The bed was comfy. Ththere was plenty of sheets and blankies. They supply all the outdoor things needed as well. They have paddleboards, canoes, life jackets. . Cant recomen Dave and Gloria enough. THE BEST PEOPLE. THANKS YOU TWO!! WE WILL BE BACK!

We stayed for just a short couple of days but that was enough to give this place (and the managers, I might add), four thumbs up, two from me and two from my spouse.

My family and I enjoyed our stay here so much, we will definitely be back! The house is cozy and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need. We ended up bringing our boat with us and were very pleased to have access to the private dock. The diving board and hot tub were a huge hit. The hosts (Dave, Gloria, and Honey - the cat) are wonderful - very gracious and welcoming. Dave is full of fun dad-jokes and we were honored to be invited into the Pez Bar. :-) We had a great time! Highly recommend, this place is a true paradise!
