Linn Grove, Iowa
The bedroom has a king bed, a rocker recliner, an attached bathroom with a shower and a great view of the vineyard.
The great room has a daybed with a trundle bed in one corner that looks out over the vineyard. The sitting area has 2 couches with a 55" big screen TV and a DVD player. The kitchen nook has a built in bar and includes a microwave, small refrigerator/freezer, counter top double burner, electric griddle, crock pot, coffee maker, and more. This vacation rental is a loft above the winery tasting room and has windows that look down into the tasting room. You can see through the 20 foot floor to ceiling windows of the tasting room and see the pond in the foreground and the timber in the background.. It is an amazing view.
As vacation rental guests you will share the giant deck around the winery with our winery guests. Summer hours are from 1-5 Saturday, and Sunday, and 3-9:00 on Friday. You can have a fire in the shared fire pit and grill some burgers on the grill. There is a propane grill on the deck which you can use. Explore the pond with one of our canoes, kayaks, or paddle boat. Test your fishing skills against the large mouth bass. Swimming in the crystal clear pond is a favorite activity during the summer months. Try some of our award winning wines. Wine tasting is free during the wineries regular business hours. All the grapes are grown on our farm, and we have everything from dry to semi sweet. There are trails on our timber farm that lead to the other vineyards. They are available for hiking. The Little Sioux River is just a mile to the South and provides many access points for canoeing, fishing, floating, etc. We are centrally located for the Northwest Iowa Prairie wine trail. We are about an hour South of the Iowa Great Lakes with all that it has to offer. We are 20 miles North of Storm Lake. We are 8 miles from the Prairie Heritage Museum just outside of Peterson. We are just a mile from the Glacial Scenic Byway.
Please be advised that occasionally there are parties in the winery. We will try to inform you in advance so you can plan accordingly.

I waited over two months to submit this review, hoping that I was being dramatic. But I feel like you need to know what you could be getting if you come stay. First of all it says the host is Sheila but what little communication there was was with Paul. Shortly after arriving, the winery opened and like others have said you can hear literally every word that is being said. They can hear you. Every time a door opens and closes the sliding glass windows rattle. This Friday night there was “hired” entertainment. We found this out the next day when we went to check out the wines. We thought it was karaoke because it was terrible. The TV did not drown it out. There was no kindling, and nothing to light a fire, even if we wanted one. There was no canoe, paddle boat, kayak did not have a paddle. Be aware, there is no lighting outside. If you go somewhere and come back when it is dark, you will be trying to figure out how to get to the door. We left each evening to escape the noise from the winery below. The shower curtain literally had black mold on it. Otherwise it was fairly clean. But for the cleaning fee, it would’ve been nice to be able to take a shower without having to avoid touching the mold. Television is OK if you have Hulu or Netflix or want to watch a DVD they have. Filthy grill Not good if peace and quiet is what you are seeking. Limited characters, or would have said much more. Would have been much more peaceful at a hotel and less expensive!
Lovely place, beautiful outdoor spa e with pond, trail, and fire pit. Lory came to give us a private wine tasting.
Beautiful location, comfortable loft, friendly hosts, good wine, great entertainment.
Great location! Comfortable bed, well stocked, except no creamer or sugar for the coffee. The plastic dish drainer could use either a good scrub or replacement & the kitchen sponge was old and shredded, so threw it away, but there were dishcloths we used instead. Flies were prevalent inside & out with goats nextdoor, but a fly swatter was provided. Good breeze in evening helped eliminate the flies.
If you want a quiet place to get away, this is it. The rural setting is peaceful, a place to kick back, read your favorite book and enjoy the view of the pond.
I stayed here for two days on a mini-vacation to see some tourist sights in the area. I loved staying here and would highly recommend it to someone else. Even though the owners were not around during my stay, they made sure that someone was there to do a wine tasting (Kim- she was great too!). Being able to get out on the pond and do some paddling or even just sit outside on the deck or swing was an added experience. This is definitely a place that I want to come back to again.
Truly, Iowa at its best. The loft is plentiful big and the views are beautiful. You even have a lake view that is clear enough to see fish swimming. The farm across the street has goats and sheep that we loved to hear. And the wine...Made and processed from grapes grown right there. Paul and Sheila are the best! Thank you for a wonderful time and we will definitely be back!
Comfortable apartment above the tasting room. Enjoyable wine tasting. Beautiful view of the pond. There was live music scheduled for Sunday night that we enjoyed from the apartment, the band was awesome.
Relaxing with great hosts and friendly people.
It was our 2nd time staying here and we love it! Very peaceful and quiet after the Winery closes.
Great location and friendly hosts.
The hosts were very welcoming and the winery was beautiful and set on waterfront. (Near the end of the summer, the water wasn't as clear and inviting, but beautiful to look at.) BnB entrance/exit is in the back so a little extra walking to get to the deck and common spaces bit very inviting and we had lots of privacy.
This is the place my wife and I got married and came back for our anniversary. Amazing place quite and peaceful. Owners are amazing.
Again a most enjoyable weekend. Always look forward to being here and interacting. The wine is the best.
This rental above the winery was perfect for us. Very clean and just as described in the listing. We tasted wine and then shared a bottle on the deck before checking until our room. It was a perfect night!
Paul and Sheila's loft above the tasting room was a perfect quiet getaway! The pond was wonderful for swimming. We enjoyed watching the fish and turtles on the paddleboat. The music entertainment was lovely and the staff were very friendly and welcoming! Unfortunately we did not try the wine due to me being pregnant. Overall we hope to come back with our new baby in the future!
Loved the pond and loft accommodations. My husband enjoyed his swimming in the pond.
Relaxing getaway to unwind. We really enjoyed fishing on the pond.
I wanted a couple days to relax and get away- this was the perfect spot!
We are 3 educators out to enjoy some down time together. This was the perfect venue! Our host Sheila was communicative and friendly. The winery was not officially open but she sent her delightful partner, Lory, to give us a private tasting. The property is lovely inside and the outside space is beautiful. Highly recommend!
