Wake to the sounds of a babbling brook & bird song through the skylight; lounge outdoors under hemlock & holly trees with a cup of coffee. At night enjoy the canopy of stars & planets without light pollution. Welcome to Whispering Waters- a cozy geodesic dome @ Wanderlust Woods. So remote you’d never guess that you're only 5 mi from trails in the National Park or the best rafting & zip lining in the Smokies + 25 min to Gatlinburg. Ideal for a unique mountain retreat withan immersive experience.

If you need anything, cohost Jamey is just a phone call away (check out 3500+ 5-star reviews). We are more than happy to answer questions or offer help if you need it. Just message or call and we'll either send someone by or handle any concerns personally.

Wanderlust Woods is located in Cocke County Tennessee near the towns of Cosby and Hartford, 10 minutes from the Interstate and is situated very near the boundary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The natural beauty of the area is unparalleled with views of the Smokies at almost every turn. Hiking, fishing, white water rafting, and ziplining are all within a 10 mile radius of the property. Gatlinburg, TN is a 25 minute drive and Asheville, NC is just over an hour, offering guests options for fun day trips in the area.

You’re welcome to explore our 10 acres of property including 900 ft of creek frontage, a hiking trail to the ridge, and mountain views. We ask that you do not enter any other of our glamping spots. No one else has access to your dome.

The open floor plan consists of colorful boho energy with queen bed & twin roll-away, table for 3, comfy chairs in the main space, a full size bathroom with shower & flush toilet, kitchenette with refrigerator, sink, air fryer/toaster oven, 2-burner hot plate with pots & pans, plus a microwave. Additionally, you'll enjoy a wall-sized vista window that overlooks the sun-dappled creek and forest. Outside take a seat in one of the hammock chairs, around the fire pit, or at the table with umbrella while you wait for dinner to finish on the gas grill and enjoy the view--you may see a family of bears or flock of wild turkeys!

If this doesn’t fit your needs, check out our other glamping spots @ Wanderlust Woods (found on our host page)

Our address is 910 Windy Hill Way, Cosby, TN 37722 but we have found GPS sometimes falls short as you get close. There are many possible routes to get to Wanderlust Woods, some of which are one-lane roads that we do not recommend.

Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, we suggest that you access our property from US-321 / TN-32 (aka E. Parkway from Gatlinburg).

If coming from I-40, take exit 435 onto TN-32 S. In 5.5 miles turn right onto US-321 S and then left to stay on 321 S. Continue straight for almost 10 miles when you will turn left on Trail Hollow Road (there is a sign for Chestnut Baptist Church on this corner).

Follow Trail Hollow Road for about 1 mile and turn left onto Phillips Road. (Be mindful that Trail Hollow Road makes a sharp, 90 degree left turn, about half way to Phillips Road.) Once you turn onto Phillips Road you will pass a house on your right. Take the first right onto Windy Hill Way. This is our road. You will pass two neighbors' driveways on the left and go all the way to the end where you will see our large wooden sign and Wanderlust Woods is just over the bridge.

You will also want to take a look at the Guide with your check-in instructions for how to access your glamping spot (after filling out the pre-arrival form)

We don’t have great cell reception at the property, so make sure you screenshot the directions and check in instructions ahead of time or log into our Wi-Fi when you get to the bridge. You can set up Wi-Fi calling on your phones in order to stay in touch with family and friends while you’re glamping.

We provide coffee, creamer, sugar, snacks, plus all the bedding, towels, soap, TP, etc that you’ll need for your stay.

The Cosby entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is 3 mi in one direction, rafting on the Pigeon River is 3 mi in another direction, and we can show you some beautiful fishing spots for bass & trout less than 3 miles from our place.

The following does NOT apply to reservations made on Airbnb (who has their own vetting & resolution process). For all other booking platforms, guests are required to complete our pre-arrival process including a photo of a valid ID, signing our rental conditions, and submitting a valid credit or debit card to be pre-approved for a security deposit (card will not be charged just authorized in case of damage or rule violation). This process needs to be completed before check-in.

My husband and I came to hike and loved our stay at Wanderlust as our basecamp to relax, unwind, and regroup for the next day of exploring.

I rented this dome for my 6th year anniversary with my partner and it was amazing. I always wanted to stay in a dome but it super expensive. We got this last minute because it was a great price. The hosts are really welcoming provided you with almost everything you might need! There is a stove provided! Their well water they provide was amazing as well! The drive to the woods was a bit rough but my Nissan versa made it! I loved this amazing experience. The bed was comfortable. Overall everything was cute and comfy! It was raining when we left and there was a leak somewhere on the roof that dropping in close to the bed and the kitchen but other than that amazing.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay in the dome. As she said, it was the coolest place we have ever been. Everything as advertised and more. Will be staying here again on future trips to the Smokies.

All is well if you enjoy sleeping in woods. Only 2 complaint was not a mountain view and path to entrance is muddy and might be little difficult if you have 2 wheel drive

110 percent accurate description and pictures of the location and dome. Dreamy like stay and would recommend 10 times out of 10 times. Will definitely be frequenting this spot in the future for future vacations with my girlfriend. Nothing but awesome things to say about this place, this stay and this host!
