Stayed May 17, 2025Fantastic location—just a short walk to the beach with a beautiful patio view overlooking Praia da Luz. The home was spacious, clean, and perfect for a stay with my husband. Check-in was very simple, and two grocery stores are conveniently nearby. It’s also just a quick drive to Lagos.”

Stayed Mar 2, 2024Casa Rujo met all of our expectations. The perfect spot to explore the Lagos area. Luz is a quaint community with lots of great restaurants and little shops (go to Boaty’s on the promenade!) Five minute walk to the beach. Wonderful view!

Stayed Jul 19, 2023The listing for this apartment is entirely accurate. The space was wonderful for the four of us. We especially loved time on the patio overlooking the beach. The walk to the beach is an easy 5 minute walk and the beach is outstanding. Even during the high season we were apparently in it was not too crowded. There are two good grocery stores within a 5-minute walk and many good restaurants just as close. We caught an Uber into Lagos almost every day as it was easy and inexpensive. Therefore we did not need to rent a car at all. During our stay we had a couple of questions and the property management took care of us quickly. If we go back to Portugal we would certainly consider staying in this same spot. Especially as it now has a power adapter for American plugs because I left mine behind.

Stayed Mar 4, 2023My husband and I were thoroughly impressed with the clean, updated, modern vibe of this unit and could not be happier with the location- Luz is a beautiful beach town and this rental was perfectly equipped for our 8 night stay. The property manager was efficient and courteous. I hope this place is available next time we visit.

Stayed Sep 1, 2022Me and my husband stayed for 8 nights at the beginning of September and what a lovely place this is. It's in a quiet cul de sac only minutes away from the beach, bars and restaurants in one direction and supermarket in the other - with it's own little private entrance and garden to the side. We had a couple of small queries on arrival however Luz Property were super quick to respond and were very friendly and helpful. The property itself is just lovely - very nicely decorated and extremely clean and confortable, we even had towels changed and a clean halfway through our stay. The rooms are all lovely - there are two small bathrooms which maximise the space and are nicely decorated, both with fabulous big showers. The living area upstairs is excellent - light, bright and with the most amazing view from the balcony - the website pictures don't show just how superb it is! We have stayed in Luz before however this is such a lovely place we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Stayed Jul 20, 2022The apartment itself is lovely, and is very well situated. It's spacious, airy, and very easy to live in. The air-conditioning is effective and silent, the TV offers a number of options, and the shower is superb. We loved the apartment and would have stayed there again BUT IT WAS LET DOWN by what wasn't there, that should have been. We couldn't use the balcony. There were two sun loungers with plastic slats. They couldn't be used as they would have been uncomfortable and they got boiling hot as there were no cushions on the loungers. There was no parasol or awning on the balcony so one would have had to sit in direct sun, which isn't comfortable, and dangerous health-wise. I contacted the property manager and was told that in a few days, sun cushions and a parasol would arrive. In our 10-day stay, they didn't. A few days before we left, a lightweight, flimsy parasol was dropped off, and we were cautioned to watch out for the wind. It blew over the balcony railing within 30 minutes, and couldn't be used. So we couldn't use the balcony at all. Very importantly, there was NO BOOK GIVING INFORMATION about the apartment or area. We contacted the property manager, and he gave a phone number if we needed anything. Had we needed to call the police, fire, or any emergency service, we would not have known how to do so. We'd have had to call the property manager, and hope he answered! In all the years, I've been renting accommodation, I have never been in a place where there was no information about it. Knowledge of the idiosyncrasies of the dish washer and washing machine would have been useful. Knowing when there'd be a bed linen changeover and new towels would have been helpful. We went to a neighbouring reception to find out details about getting to Lagos, as there was nothing for us in our apartment. CLEANLINESS. The apartment itself was spotless when we arrived. I emailed the property manager asking when the bed linen and towels would be changed. I was told that towels would be changed half way through the stay. This happened. The maid put something down the loo at the same time, and that was it. Despite being assured that after 7 days, we'd have fresh bed linen, this never happened. For 10 days , in the heat, we had the same linen. Again, this was an unwelcome first for me. To sum up, it's a lovely apartment, but it's being let down by the impossibility of using the balcony, and by inadequate maid service. I hope the manager addresses these issues.
